The location of the hotel is great, in the city center, at the beginning of a pedestrian street. The hotel is nicely decorated and the room was clean. I appreciate very much the fact that I arrived at 9 in the morning and that the staff was kind to let me check-in so early, as the room was already ready. As it is an old building, one has to climb around 10 stairs until reaching the elevator, for me it was no problem but it might be for someone older for example. At breakfast there was variety and some option changes during the days I've stayed.

In the bathroom there was a bit of mold smell, but there was also a window that helped getting fresh air.

Location is great in the very heart of the city facing the theatre, facilities are really good, breakfast was fabulous. Staff went above and beyond. Above average and probably the best in Craiova.

Room card didn’t work, had to use key. Prices were really inflated during the Christmas market and Romanian national day week.

We booked the hotel with parking included, that was one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel. And because there was some big event in the city center, the traffic was blocked, that means we couldn't get to the parking place of the hotel by car. Of course, not the fault of the hotel, but I wish they had told us about it, especially because we mentioned we want a parking place and they knew about the event. Even more, I tried to call them (repeatedly) on that day of the check-in when I found out about the event, but they didn't answer. Not very professional. That's why the minus points.

Convenient, clean, really friendly staff who were very accommodating with room service for my disabled mother. The staff were very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. There was a good choice of continental breakfast options, cereals, juice and hot drinks.

Clock in the bedroom didn’t work, the safe had no batteries in so we couldn’t use it. The duvet on the double bed was too small. We saw only two breakfast teabags in the four days we were there - we did miss our tea! - the hot food breakfast options sadly weren’t very hot. No stand up shower in our en suite bathroom. The door lips entering the bedroom and en suite were quite high, a potential issue for disabled visitors. A lift down to the ground floor would have helped, especially with heavy cases and for the disabled member of our party it meant she left her room only twice during her stay.

The hotel is perfectly located in the town center. The rooms are very clean, quiet and elegantly furnished. The staff are professional and friendly. I would highly recommend the breakfast. A lot of choice and the food was delicious. We also had a great dinner at restaurant La Papanu, which is conveniently located at the back of the hotel. Big portions, very tasty, amazing service! We even had a chat with a very pleasant young man from Nepal, who served our food. My total rating of our stay in Splendid 1900 and La Papanu is 10/10!

*Fantastic location to explore the town. We were there for the Christmas market and the hotel was only a few steps away from the first of the markets. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. *The room was large, clean and beautifully appointed. The bed was big and comfortable. Robes were provided, along with decent toiletries. Large flat screen TV, fridge and coffee machine in the room. We had a view over the ferris wheel of the Christmas market, which was very pretty. Despite the central location, we didn't hear any noise at night. *The general decor of the hotel was nice. It felt surprisingly luxurious. *Breakfast was excellent. Huge selection of cheeses/meats along with a few self service hot options.Coffee and juice were of a good quality. *WiFi was strong and there was a safe in the room.

*The staff were unfriendly to the point of being rude. The woman who checked us in was particularly unpleasant. *There's a lift, but it starts on the first floor, so you need to walk/carry luggage up the first flight of stairs. Not an issue for us, but it probably wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues.

The breakfast was amazing and the lady there was super friendly with us and our baby. The room was big, clean and beautiful The hotel is located in the old center Comfy bed

If I am honest, it's a a small minus that there are some stairs to climb until the elevator and the soundproof is not that good but it did not bother us :)

We probably got the most amazing hotel room in the entire Craiova. It was large and very well designed, elegant and glamorous, with huge windows that generously let light in and a great comfortable bed. I can't remember the last time we stayed in such an amazing place.

There was a misunderstanding about the parking lot, but they elegantly solved everything and went out of their way to make us forget that we were upset at some point.

This is a boutique hotel located right in the center, close to cafes, restaurants and shops. The hotel is small and airy, very clean and very quiet despite its proximity to the center. The breakfast is varied and delicious.

The closet in our room was very small, we were told that the safes were not working in all rooms. Need an electrical adapter

The window did not close perfectly and when it was great wind outside you could feel cold air through the window. We had some problems with the door, it was hard to open with the card but we got a key and was better.
