Location in Motovon is ideal for exploring the old town. Called for pickup from the cemetery car park as directed and we were met within minutes. But what sets this place apart is the terrace, a view to die for in the afternoon Sun with a drink from the bar across the road, and then a walk to the restaurant for dinner, all within a 10 second radius! What more could you ask for

Room was a little compact, but hey, these places weren’t made for tourists when they were built, and it didn’t spoil our stay as the terrace more than made up for it

Great location with simple but comfortable rooms. We were upgraded to a room with a beautiful view. The breakfast was of high quality. The highlight was the hotel balcony with incredible views over the valley. Stunning. The host who picked us up from the car park went above and beyond. He suggested the neighboring restaurant, Pod Voltom. I was skeptical but we had an amazing dinner with the same spectacular view. The best meal of the week in Croatia and a good value too!

Nothing. It was perfect.

The view from atop the B&B lobby was absolutely breathtaking. We were able to trace our route from our previous destination, across the mountains, down into the valley and up to Motovun. The rooms are simple, the beds comfortable, and the made to order breakfast with truffles and more is great,

No bottled drinking water available in the room. It would be nice to have a free bottle of drinking water available to the customer.

We got picked up form the parking lot and shuttled up to the hotel. Later in the conversation we realized that it was the owner of the place himself. Very cool dude, very helpful and he made sure our stay was as comfy as possible. The staff are very nice as well, very polite and service oriented. They have a beautiful terrace with a stunning view. Breakfast was always plentiful and tasty. I love how they always make you fresh scrambled eggs and you can choose if you want them with truffles or just plain. The room was in the second building, very clean, spacious and minimalisticaly but very nicely furnished.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Villa Borgo B&B is a perfect location for a hilltop village stay. The room is spacious enough for a couple. But is the hospitality of the owner that makes Villa Borgo so memorable. The terrace for an evening drink or breakfast is a wonderful way to start or end the day.

Parking is a bit tricky but it would be for anyone staying in Motovun. The owner goes out of his way to make it easy though and, with reduced parking rates, it is not a deterrent for staying at Villa Borgo.

Great location and it was close to parking. There is a possibility to arrange transport from the parking place to the accommodation, but is necessary only if you have a lot of bags in my opinion. Otherwise, it is a nice walk. Our room was cosy and we had everything we needed - towels, hair dryer, additional blankets and pillows, great AC, nice view to old city gate. Breakfast was also included and it was excellent, a lot of things to choose from, and we especially liked freshly made scrambled eggs - I recommend truffle version. Drinks are also available to buy at the property but they also have a small bar just across the narrow street. What we really liked was the terrace where we enjoyed the breakfast - the terrace has the view of the Mirna river valley and it was so relaxing.

They allowed our group of 6 to take all 3 rooms on the same floor instead of the other building, I think because we'd been there before and had fond memories of the deck right off that 2nd floor. Our host was wonderful! She made us feel totally at home. The breakfast she provided was excellent. If we get to go to Croatia again, we will definitely stay at the Villa Borgo and enjoy the peaceful beauty of Motovun! I hope we will have our same hostess--she was beloved by all of us!

Honestly, nothing! It would have been nice if the weather had been a bit warmer, but Villa Borgo did not disappoint!

The property is located in the most beautiful part with an amazing view. The staff was amazing, they helped us to book also the dinner in the best restaurant. I would personally recommend to choose a higher room with view as room 1 is facing the terrace where is served the breakfast so we were awake early. However we enjoyed everything! Amazing place

Everything was great ( only that our room 1 was directly in the terrace where people eating or drinking in the evening, a bit disturbing as you could not open the window and enjoy the view)

Amazing breakfast! As I came down the stairs into the lobby/kitchen area I was greeted warmly by the staff and asked whether I would like some freshly cooked scrambled eggs with black truffle. They were outstanding, and equaled by the magnificent view over the adjacent valley from their outdoor dining terrace. Great service, quiet room on the top floor with a beautiful custom headboard for the bed.

The hotel makes you feel welcome, more like you came to visit friends that just staying at a hotel. The staff goes out of their way to accomodate your requests and trusts you with anything, from bar to kitchen to use as you wish. Location in the heart of Motovun also couldn't be better. Breakfast is great and scrambled eggs with truffles a must, you're in the heart of the truffle country after all. Visiting the place in the winter proved the hotel is well heated, as opposed to many locations in the region that are great in the summer but lack proper heating. Everything is impeccably clean and friendly, so definitely one of the better holiday experience.

When you stay in medieval house, you have to deal with narrow corridors, steep and a bit creaky steps and small rooms. Sound-proofing could be better, ventilation of bathrooms too, TV sets could be bigger, decoration fancier. Some guests may consider these an issue, but we just embraced it as a part of a great overall experience and enjoyed every detail.
