Grasmere is a beautiful village, we fell in love with it and having a base that was right in the center of it was great. Went there for some hikes, so it was lovely to have direct access in the night when we were too exhausted to be humans, but also the lovely staff was there in the morning being nice. Breakfast was a hit, it's recommended if you plan on doing some activities.
Overall, everything was great and surpassed expectations. The only thing to have in mind is that the top floor had low ceilings so I did bump my head a bit, but hey, that is completely on me.

The breakfast was excellent. The shower was very good. The room was well maintained.
The room was at the very top of the building (allthough this did give you a spectacular view from the bedroom of the surrounding mountains) and a nice sitting area outside of the bedroom. But the room had two levels with only a metal spiral staircase which was quite narrow and very slippy which was a concern especially if you had to get up in the night as the bathroom was on the lower level. We didn't attempt yo take any luggage up there. If you had any mobility issues this would be a real problem.

Loved the location and all the friendly, lovely staff! It was nice to have interaction with them at breakfast and get some local recommendations. Coffee was excellent. The room was gorgeous, bed was comfortable and it had a lovely outlook. Really appreciated the deep bath after walking 20km one day! Very generous breakfast included in the stay - thank you!
I was a little disappointed that when I booked it said parking was included onsite but in correspondence after booking I discovered it was not. I didn’t expect to pay for parking when I had specifically selected the booking as parking was included and I know how limited parking is in Grasmere. There were some large biscuit crumbs on the bedside table when I arrived - not a huge deal for me but might be a good idea to double check in future ☺️

Breakfast was incredibly tasty, and theres a few different options, location was great and the manager was incredibly friendly and did everything he could to make sure our stay was pleasant.
The parking was a bit of a surprise as we had read reviews which indicated there were spaces but that has since changed, (the owner did leave us a bottle of wine as an apology for the crossed wires) there are 4 spaces available as one is reserved for another cafe (they left us a note and a cone when we had parked in their spot) the only other issue we found was that during our stay there was scaffolding which we weren't aware of which meant the views were obstructed a bit, the manager did resolve this for us in the way of upgrading our room for one night which was very much appreciated.

The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The accommodation was very clean ,spacious . Checking in was simple and straightforward. arriving at Heidi’s Lodge and café we met Craig and august they were brilliant and helpful nothing to much trouble and always had a smile on there faces.this accommodation is situated in the centre of grasmere. Making it easy to get to all what grasmere offers and a good bus route to Ambleside and keswick.
There was nothing not to like staying about this accommodation and cafe.

It’s in the middle of Grasmere and is a beautiful property. Easy check in. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was spacious with a great bath and shower. The staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was fabulous.
We stayed in room 4 and knew there were some ceiling restrictions but we are tall and we struggled more than we thought we would - totally on us, the description was clear. It’s a lovely room but definitely suited to those people 5’6 and under.

Chef is amazing, really lovely, well prepared breakfast. Room really clean and attention paid to detail. Staff kind and attentive.
I knew ahead of time that there is no parking, but it still drives you crazy. Particularly when all the local car parks charge 10.00 overnight fee. I feel sorry for the team running Heidi’s and others like it. The council can just charge what they like. The Co-op was closed so nowhere to buy food. Couldn’t book in anywhere for an evening meal unless I wanted to go at 5 pm.

We have stayed at Heidi’s several times but not t in room 1 which was lovely, very spacious a fantastic separate bathroom and a fantastic outside area to sit out in weather dependant . Check in is very straight forward and breakfast very nice !! There is limited parking at the rear which you now have to pay for ( as not owned by Heidi’s) but prices are reasonable!!
Breakfast served a little early but we understand that the cafe where breakfast is served needs to be ready and open for the general public during the day !!

Great spacious, clean room and lovely cafe for breakfast. We only interacted with 1 staff member at breakfast but he was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The only thing that would stop us from rebooking in the future was the parking. There should be specific parking assigned for hotel guests in my opinion but disappointingly there wasn’t and so we had to park a 25 minute walk away due to the village being so busy (not great with carrying luggage).

They let us check in early, which was much appreciated after walking from Borrowdale on the Coast-to-Coast trek. Room was clean and a good size, breakfast was good. Good shower and right number of pillows on the bed.
Room was on the top floor - hard work to get our cases up there, and there were low beams which despite being careful, we did bang our heads on. Bed was a bit too soft for me - but everyone prefers something different.
