We loved our stay at Porto Platanias. The staff were wonderful especially George the evening barman. The location was perfect for us - close to the beach and a couple of beachside restaurants where we enjoyed some lovely lunches.

Nothing - we had a perfect holiday.

The hotel is very well placed - very close to Chania city, within reasonable distance to beaches like Elafonissi and Gramvousa. The hotel has a nice quasi-private sandy beach,. The hotel itself is very nice, large, but well-designed: there are five pools, so guests are not concentrated in any one place, but are slowly cooking in the sun all around the various pools. We got an upgrade to sea-view studio, which has a small, but useful kitchen and a decent-sized fridge (pool-view rooms are smaller and likely a bit noisy). The breakfast was mostly excellent and the view from the breakfast area is nothing short of stunning. The hotel has a large free parking area across the street and the affiliated Village resort is on the other end of the parking lot with a small water park. Staff is very kind an attentive; attended to every single request immediately.

Platanias itself is nothing special, very touristy; the really narrow sidewalk is the only option to take an evening stroll (not recommended). The mattress in the bed is super-soft; some like it, other people may need a regular back massage in the spa. Beware of the hot brown liquid served at breakfast as coffee, which is absolutely horrid (you can buy actual coffee). The mostly Scandinavian and to a lesser degree German guest follow the age-old despicable habit of reserving sunbeds with towels; there are signs against this, but are not enforced any more than any other rule in Greece. As a result, if the hotel is full, it may become difficult to find an empty sunbed after breakfast. The famous beaches in the area - Elafonissi and Gramvousa - have been largely ruined by environmentalists.

One of the few underrated hotels I've been to. Our apartment was spacious, clean and had a great view to the beach and marina. Housekeeping: Ladies were very kind and efficient. The room was like new every time we came back from the beach. Food at the main restaurant: Not a huge choice, but everything tasted great. Especially deserts, some of which were out of this world. Location: Ideal - whether you want to go out for a walk on the busy street or relax inside the complex, or at the beach. It's also very close to Chania airport. Beach: Clean and fine sand. Not steep so quite suitable for children. Water was crystal-clear and warm. Personnel: Very friendly overall, especially housekeeping and restaurant staff. Bar: Unlike most All-Inclusive hotels we've been to, cocktails were really nice and professionally delivered. We would love to stay at Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa again.

Nothing serious, but just a few things: - You have to pay additionally for proper coffee at breakfast (e.g., Espresso). - The beach bar is actually not included in the All-Inclusive, which was a surprise. They still bring almost everything from the main bar (which is included) anyway. - The Exclusivi app that is supposed to give you easy access to support, reservations, and hotel information, is very basic. Most functionalities are missing (e.g., Live Chat) or not working properly (e.g., pages with no content).

Everything was wonderful. We had a suite with our own pool which was fab to relax in after a busy day in the other pools and the beach! Room was cleaned daily. The little mini market was a bonus so we could get snacks and wine. I even bought a book (in English) to read after I'd finished my own one. Food was excellent - Different options every night for dinner. Breakfast had a lot of variety. All the pools are brilliant. Even when they were busy it wasn't overwhelming and we enjoyed every minute. The beach was great - Free sun loungers. I'd like to give a special mention to the guys working at the beach bar - Very friendly and helpful. Location is great, on the main road but you can't hear a peep from traffic. I went for a run in the early mornings - Head west to the quiet area.

The sun lounger situation! Even though it states that towels will be removed if guests 'book' their sun loungers, this was not the case. By 07h30 pretty much all sun loungers are already gone... This was not a problem on the beach though. Also, the gym is in serious need of an upgrade and a massive clean. The machines are very dated (rusty, unstable, some dumbells missing..), and the treadmills are so dirty and sticky that my room key got stuck! Be good to improve the aircon in the gym too as it feels like a sauna it's so hot.

The hotel is very clean and ALL staff are so helpful and so professional, this was evident everywhere you went in the hotel. The customer service was fantastic. The prices of drinks are on par with other bars so we felt happy to stay at the hotel and have a few drinks rather than rush straight out. Breakfast on the roof terrace makes for a beautiful start to the day. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

We would have preferred a double bed rather than two twins pushed together, but we didn’t feel the need to raise this.

Location, right on the beach ( sandy beach ) , Beautiful hotel with lots of pools. Our room had a real “ sea View “ and a neat balcony. Air conditioner was very quiet. At night is peaceful to sleep. Good bed. Excellent breakfast. close to strip of shops , Cafes, excellent restaurants, bars, beauty salons, tattoo, nails, rent a car, excursions stands. …. Mostly open till 11:00 at night.

There is a “ rat race “ at all Pool area and Beach. I started to watch single men coming to the beach and putting 2 or 5 towels on deck chairs at already 7:30 in the morning!!!!! And disappearing leaving all these deck chairs and parasols empty but unavailable …they come 11:00 am !!!!! So when my children and I went to the beach ( with our paid voucher online ) around 9 , there was NO availability on our own beach !!!! So we tried the pool …… NO chance !!! Later I found out some of these people are NOT even the guests of the hotel.

Fantastic hotel. Definitely recommend this place - The hotel is big but well organized. There are several swimming pools, nearby beach and plenty of sun beds - Food was exceptional. The best I had in my 20 years of travelling. I could stay in the dinning room for my whole stay (joking). Variety of food and perfectly prepared. 11/10 - Staff friendly and helpful - Hotel rooms and hotel facilities very clean and well maintained - Good Wi Fi everywhere - Spa and gym for adults and pool tables, table tennis and different games for kids available - Good vibe, nice evening bar with a chill out music that I really enjoy - Bus station to amazing Greek city only Chania few minutes away from o hotel (ticket 2 euros one way) - Reception for the late check ins (we arrived at 3 am and had food and drinks provided) - Great value for money (we were all inclusive)

We are returning guests Location is wonderful. View is gorgeous. Food is varied and delicious.Staff are friendly. Spa treatment was pleasant but shorter than advertised. Beach and sea were beautiful. Enjoyed the pools.

One room we had (over the reception) had no water pressure, coffee maker didnt work. The other room ( a "junior suite") had a terribly uncomfortable mattress, air conditioning was very weak, mini-fridge too large for its cabinet and door wouldnt close.No electric kettle or coffee. No sun beds available, all were "reserved" all day and staff did not enforce removing towels. Lighting in room was poor. No ventillation in bathroom.

I arrived at Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa on the 1st day of the season. The staff were so kind and welcoming, everyone was smiling and helpful. The hotel is huge, there are a lot of buildings and swimming-pools, but it's easy to find your way around. I spent an amazing time in the Sparkling Spa, the whole facility is divine, especially the pool and the hydromassage. Dinner was served on the 1st floor of the restaurant with a beautiful view over the hotel's beach and Theodorou Island. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet, the meals were delicious, especially the salads and deserts. ( I loved the orange cream! ) They offered Greek specialities, too. I got some Easter presents: "tsoureki" ( milkbread ) and Easter candles. This was a really nice touch. All in all, the hotel is great, but the kind and attentive staff make it even greater. I loved my short holiday at Porto Platanias and will definitely return.

The air-conditioning in my room ( on the 1st floor of the Plaza di Porto building ) was not working. It's not a big problem now, but it will be later, as the temperature is getting higher.

- Great location, - lots of activities in the hotel like table tennis, pool and arcade games, - good breakfast, - plenty of clean pools and the best part was that you cannot reserve sunbeds, so there would always be some available, wherever you go. - the hotel beach was great too, good for snorkeling - EXCELLENT SPA with very friendly staff. We got massages and I got a mani pedi. The heated pool was great! - very convenient app to order food and drinks from sunbeds.

- cleaning of rooms is superficial at best. - layout of our room (double bed deluxe) was not the best. It was a duplex with the living room and bathroom at the bottom, and the bedroom up a flight of steps. There was a dangerous half step at the top of the stairs to enter the bedroom. - bathrooms are modern but have an awkward layout and lack some things you need at a beach resort like towel holders near the washbasin. - special coffees like cappuccinos are not included in the breakfast. Only basic black coffee is included.
