Room was roomy enough to relax and have adequate space for luggage. It was great to be able to both drop off our luggage early and store until our train arrived the next day. Breakfast was nice and the homemade jams - EXCELLENT. An easy walking distance for the market area or for even a beautiful stroll of Gengenbach. Be aware there are steep-ish, narrow stairs so big suitcases may be a challenge.

Fantastic location. Great breakfast. Wonderful hostess. My room was huge and a rustic type that I requested from their online photos. Had a refrigerator, coffee, tea, kettle, and bottled water, which I always appreciate. It was my favorite room of my trip.

Possibly not the most modern bathroom, but it fits with the house. No complaints.

Location to old town was perfect, and easy access to other areas was convenient. Provided a free Black Forest Region travel card (Konus Card), which was really useful!! Breakfast had variety and staff were lovely!

Please be aware when booking, to book for 2 people, even if you book a double room. The cost of the room is per person in the room.

The property was well maintained, and the owner was very accommodating - I cannot fault much of this property. We received more than expected!

The restaurant was closed for the entire duration of our stay, which was disappointing. As a recommendation, adding Netflix to the TV might help for a relaxing night in between longer days exploring.

Breakfast very good. Room at the front of the hotel spacious but may be a bit noisy when the road works road closure for through traffic is lifted. Staff very helpful. Location central to town Bathroom spacious but shower cubicle/tray had some small leaks

Breakfast was great. Good variety of food. Location was great also. Walkable town we lioved our stay!

Limited amount of hot water was the one and only problem. Most of the time the water was only hot for a few minutes.. 4 minute shower☹️. They were aware of the problem.

Breakfast was the best on our trip. Location is close to the center of town, train station, and other activities. Would highly recommend this hotel. We used it as our Basecamp for all of our adventures in the black forest area.

I have stayed at the Gastof Hirsch a minimum of four times in my travels from Canada, and it NEVER disappoints! The new owner was so nice to deal with, and I can say without exaggeration that the room was simply spotless! Clean, safe, quiet, comfortable...what else could a traveller want??!!

On-street parking is hit or miss, but I have always been fortunate to find a spot.

Great location, comfortable clean. This wa our 2nd time here. We also stayed in 2016 and came back due to the great service, location and rooms Short walk but uphill from train & the town centre is just a few minutes walk. Very beautiful place to visit.

The room was very clean, everything was exactly how it should be in a hotel. The service was perfect and very kind personal. The communication with the hotel and additional information concerning the check in was perfect

A little disadvantage is the parking space. When we arrived on saturday evening there was not parking spot nearby the hotel.
