We visited to celebrate my parents retirement, they had a garden room, we a comfort room, both were spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were fantastic, you could tell they cared about where they worked. Everything had been thought of, my partner had to leave early for a flight and they printed his boarding pass for him and provided a breakfast tray for him for the early start. We are in the restaurant for two nights, the specials were different for both evenings. All of the food was excellent, we could get plenty of water, can't fault anything. Look forward to a return visit

Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was okay, my husband's choices were tastier than mine however the truffle chips and limoncello tiramisu were to die for;) Room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable and we had our dog with us and her needs were very well catered for and she was made very welcome which is a big plus.

It would have been useful to have a fixed mirror and a better light in the bathroom for applying make-up. I ended up doing this next to the bed where the light was not ideal. The small mirror provided was not sufficient for me. I realise with the eaves this is not easy however an extendable mirror fixed to the straight wall would work really well.

Location amazing, breakfast lovely. Lots on the menu. Outside space and furniture was beautiful

Unfortunately our shower was not in use until the last day, as they could not fix. Choose a £35 steak (evening meal) but was very disappointed. Not cooked to specification so returned, still not right so they cooked a new one. Unfortunately this also was not cooked properly but by then everyone had finished their meal and ended up with sour bread & pate!! To eat in the bar area!!

Every member of staff was extremely helpful and friendly. There was a warm homely relaxing ambience about the place. making the overall stay pleasurable.

The food was a disappointment in terms of availability. The main dinner menu as limited options with approximately half being vegetarian dishes, which was not my particular taste. Despite booking for an evening meal at 7pm, certain items were unavailable and this applied to the specials board, and as were staying for 3 nights it became a problem. Taking account of the remote location and indulging in a pre dinner drink, you are not in a position to move on elsewhere. It would seem that there was a supply problem as the same happened with the breakfast menu.

Lovely location and everything looked great in the room when opening the bedroom door. Quite dramatic with the four poster bedposts! All facilities were there - kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits, water, fresh milk, hand soap and body wash, shampoo, conditioner, towels which smelled really clean and fresh. The food in the restaurant was very good and included some creative ideas which were great for us non-meat eaters.

The bathroom was rather ‘tired’ with lots of cracks in the toilet and sink. The shower tray had a lot of black mould in the corners which was rather off putting. It was perfectly functional but just not pristine. Needs some TLC. The restaurant food was great but we had cheese between the two of us which was really meagre for £16.95. Very small amount of cheese. Not great value.

The Inn itself was welcoming, comfortable and homely. A lovely warm log fire to sit in front of once out of the chilly British weather. We stayed in a beautiful suite called ‘Rabbit’. It was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The bath was incredible for a long relaxing soak, the bed so comfortable with lovely pillows and exceptionally good quality bedding. Our stay was exceptional. The staff are some of the very best I have ever come across. Nothing was too much for them, everything we requested was provided including milk alternatives and extra tea and coffee. We had dinner in the Inn on the first night and the food was amazing. They really do have the most incredible chefs, the menu may look a little daunting to some but the flavours they incorporate are out of this world. The selection for breakfast each morning is lovely and all cooked fresh. We really cannot wait to return!

There was nothing we were unhappy with.

Food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent; it was good to have interesting options for breakfast (shakshuka; smoked trout; etc.) rather than just the usual full English. The room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. There is plenty of parking available.

We weren't made aware that we needed to order pastries at the same time as our main breakfast order and were then ignored for ages before we could order the pastries and then told it would take 15 mins to cook them! Whilst the free standing bath is beautiful to look at, it's very difficult to get into if you're short like me (5' 1") and challenging to use the hand-held shower without flooding the bathroom - I'll definitely make sure I request a room with a proper shower next time I book.

Kitchen was excellent, dinner menu great and breakfast superb, staff were friendly. Lovely location, walks information on hand. Beautiful bar and dining area. Ideal location if you want a rural stay. Nice all round. Only disappointments in room were: No UFH in bathroom just eco electric rad which turned itself off before getting warm. I know how to override that but most people don’t and there’s no instructions. Coat rack not really adequate for convenient hanging, room needs a wardrobe. Rooms could benefit from USB sockets/ phone charging points, not just plugs! TV was a first Gen smart TV with no access to Netflix or Amazon Prime. The bedroom’s central heating radiator could have stayed on a little later. Too many little LED lights on all night around the room. A basic tech update/upgrade could iron out most of the issues. On the whole…quite modern, clean and quiet. Better than most rural stays by a long shot.

Lovely Country pub, warm and cosy, room was lovely, well maintained, clean and comfortable, dinner menu was great and the food was delicious. Breakfast menu was also good and again breakfast was lovely. This is a dog friendly pub. On their website they also have several circular walks of various lengths, that take you from the pub and back. We did one of these through the Nature Reserve not far away and had a great time. Nice to come back to a cosy pub after a walk and get all cosy.

No food, not even bar snacks between, last lunch booking 2.30pm and dinner at 6pm. This is not clear on their website or their menu's. We would have eaten a small lunch before our walk if we had realised.

Nice room, beautiful pub, beautiful garden. Many seating options in the garden and around the pub. Breakfast was ok. The coffee was weak and tasteless

At dinner, we had to wait nearly 50 minutes for the dishes we ordered - Fish fillet and a hamburger, two things that are considered fast food. They did not offer any compensation or apology, they only said, as an explanation, that the kitchen is under renovation. Since the portions were not generous and rather tasteless, we finished both angry and hungry, with no desire to order anything else.
