It's a hotel that we've been to several times over many years and it stands up well. The location is excellent - as long as you have a car - and there is an extensive health spa including pool, and gym included with the room price Rooms well-appointed. Breakfast quality excellent and cooked to order. Staff very friendly. Small comfortable lounges.

Service at breakfast can be slow. Although what is on the buffet display is of good quality it's surprisingly limited. For example, no fresh fruit salad - although melon and pineapple and whole fruit were available - and very limited choice of bread. Tea and coffee is self-service which is rather downmarket for a hotel of this quality, although specialist tea and coffee can be ordered. Mattresses are rather soft, suggesting that they need replacing. Windows in ground floor rooms have a path outside and there are no net curtains so privacy is affected. The grill bar closes early in the evening so the only dining facility is the rather expensive main restaurant.

Ours was a last minute booking and we didn't expect the room to be as nice as it was. Spacious, comfortable beds and quiet. The hotel looked fairly newly decorated and we liked it a lot. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. Surroundings were lovely and the situation was excellent, being near to Chichester, Tangmere and the coast. There were some beautiful villages within a ten minute drive and we ate at two very good pubs, the George at Eartham especially being excellent. We definitely hope to come back again.

Just a couple of small things. In the bathroom the bath wash, shampoo etc. were too high up if you were having a bath (okay for showers though). This was a nice, upmarket hotel so we didn't really like having to get our own teas and coffees from the machines at the end of the dining room. Waiter/waitress service for that would be better. Also the room lighting wasn't quite bright enough. The reading and bathroom lights were good but perhaps brighter lamp bulbs in the room would be better.

Lovely property with plenty of character, extremely comfortable and great location.

Chilli in with our avocado at breakfast. Am sure it wasn’t listed on the menu. Disappointing.

Its clear dogs aren't just allowed here, they are extremely welcome! It was a delight to bring our dog to stay with us and we felt all the staff were very welcoming and accommodating - then even offered to shuttle us to and from dinner at The Kennels. The Farmer, Butcher Chef did an amazing Sunday roast. We loved the walks around the area along the country walkways through the fields to reach the Aerodrome and Tinwood Estate vineyard - highly recommend going for a tasting.

Unfortunately, whilst there are lots of EV chargers, only two can be used by non-BP members and they were consistently being used by non-EV cars as a parking spot. I understand this is difficult for the staff to enforce but as a result we were never able to charge our car.

The hotel has been refurbished since we last stayed and looks really good. The rooms are clean and have all the things you would expect, water, teas and a coffee machine too as well as bathrobes so that you can go to the spa. We had a room for three and had a children’s bed in there. The pool area was clean and the swimming pool was warm. The restaurant looked nice and the breakfast was really delicious with lots of choice. Staff were really friendly and attentive too. A lovely touch for our granddaughter was that there was a bag in the room for her with an activity sheet and a chocolate sheep and crayons and a bottle of water which she was delighted with. Lovely smelling toiletries in the bathroom too. As it was half term the hotel had put on some really different and interesting activities for children and there were some nice things to choose from. There was a small fee for each of these but definitely worth it. All in all a lovely stay

One main gripe, as it was half term I would have expected the swimming pool to be open all the time especially as they were encouraging families with all of the children’s activities but we found that the pool was out of use until 12pm and so we could not swim on the day that we were leaving which was a shame. We had one very unhappy granddaughter. Also a minor whinge - we booked quite late (just two days before) and I had a few questions so emailed the hotel but got the reply back that all emails would be replied to within 72 hrs (obviously too late for us) so I didn’t get answers to my questions and had to ring the hotel. Surely they could reply more quickly than that.

Room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, good coffee and tea choices in room. I enjoy the common sitting areas within the hotel. The breakfast was pretty good. The hotel’s guests are allowed to dine at the Kennels, within the clubhouse, separate from the hotel. It was exceptional and much than the restaurant within the hotel premise.

I didn’t get to walk the routes nor see the Arts Foundation, as both were closed the week before the Festival of Speed. This was very disappointing but means I should be back next time.

Lovely hotel in lovely grounds. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Nice spa facilities and treatments. Good range of places to eat and drink on site/within the grounds. Excellent service.

Ordered room service food on first night but sandwiches were not as advertised on menu- missing various ingredients etc. To credit of hotel, they took them off the bill and were very apologetic. One room’s heating wasn’t working; they had put a portable blow heater in the room but it was not mentioned when we checked in/room was not reallocated. It was fine but I’d have expected them to just mention it. Phone wasn’t working in one of the two rooms we had so couldn’t ring down to reception etc. That being said, all of these were small things that didn’t detract from a lovely stay.

Dog friendly in all parts of hotel. Nice facilities. Clean. Lovely grounds for leisurely walks. Picturesque. Staff helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Take care if having a shower. Don't just read the instructions. STUDY them carefully, as it is very complex if not done. Rooms a bit too warm overnight and hallway lights beamed quite brightly under the door, which were on all night. I wouldn't recommend eating at their Farmer, Butcher, Chef restaurant. Very disappointing at the price point (+£120 for two, inc. 12% service charge, excluding any alcoholic drinks!). If you pay that much you expect a 'wow' factore. Staff weren't very attentive. We ate in a pub the night after (The Partridge Inn). Half the price but twice as good! The Bar & Grill is otherwise OK, but with a very limited menu.

Very good indeed. This is my go to relaxation place. It's a lovely environment, there's plenty to do, spotlessly clean and the staff without exception are excellent. Very good meals at the Kennels nearby nd at the hotel restaurant , Farmer, Butcher, Chef.

My only criticism is that after 6 there is no other choice but to eat in the main restaurant unless you order from room service. It is an excellent restaurant but expensive if you're eating there every evening. I'm assured that there are plenty of local venues for an evening meal.

The hotel had that warm local feeling with lots of interesting ornaments and paintings that told a story about its history. I was amazed with the restaurant room and the bar was relaxing. Unfortunately I did not have time to sample the pool but did look amazing. All so the staff on entrance went above and beyond to help with a delivery that had been stent to me.

The bar music was good but did not fit the style of the room but was not a issue after a few drinks ;) but nothing that would stop me from returning again.
