Very comfortable beds, super close to the airport

The staff seemed grouchy when I called about the shuttle when I didn't realize there wasn't a shuttle pick-up at terminal B. The shuttle driver also seemed grouchy. Maybe it's an LA thing; not the end of the world, but also not helpful at the end of a long day of flying in a boot due to an injury either. Also, the shuttle doesn't start running until 6 AM, so just pay attention to that. I chose this hotel for the proximity to LAX and a shuttle, but ended up having to pay a ridiculous amount to get back to the airport. My fault for not checking that, but wanted to call it out as something for others to pay attention to

Considering most of your business comes from the airport, could you please add a different way of booking the shuttle? Most eSIM plans don’t include a phone number so contacting you to book the shuttle bus was difficult via telephone. You either have to buy a SIM card at the airport if it’s open, find a pay phone, or ask a stranger. A WhatsApp number or a booking form perhaps? Otherwise the shuttle service was great!

the lights in the disability bathroom were on a timer and went out while I was in the bath, and due to injury and crutches, it was quite dangerous to have that happen without warning. There should be a sign warning people to turn on the other set of lights on as well as the fan/light

The property was close to where I needed to be. I liked the room, it was very clean (carpet will need replacing soon) and the exercise room was nice.

The ‘hidden’ parking fee. $30 is too much. You don’t clean rooms every day, the toiletries are skimpy, the cost of parking is just an up charge

I like that there is a designated area for smokers. I also like the various keycard access doors so I don't have to go through the lobby. There's a grocery store and many places to eat within 5-10 min walking distance.

Scheduling a shuttle to take you back to the airport is a bit confusing. They don't mention that you have to schedule it ahead of time the day before you leave. Even then, the driver didn't seem to know or care whether or not I was actually scheduled for that timeslot, despite me giving my name/room number when I scheduled it, so I ended up going back with other people. That was fine, but I don't see the point of scheduling it then.

The BED! After a long, dusty, hot day of travel, falling into THAT bed was incredible! The most wonderful bed I have ever slept in, (and I have high standards for a comfy bed)! Absolutely sensational! 👏🏽

The first room I was allocated smelled very strongly of damp and mildew. The very lovely receptionist on duty quickly changed me to another room. I was running behind to get my shuttle in the morning, but had enough time to grab a quick coffee and muffin. Or so I thought. There was only one person on duty for breakfast, and they were flat out making toasted sandwiches, coffees, etc. They absolutely needed a second person assisting. I waited 5 minutes to make a coffee to go order but they never even made eye contact with me. Unfortunately, I had to abandon the idea of a coffee and left to get on the shuttle bus to LAX.

The staff are very friendly and the family room was a good size. There are several restaurants and stores within walking distance.

The processes do not seem to work well. We found out at the hotel that the small print says that a shuttle to the airport is only offered from 06 am. However, we had to leave at 05:30, which cost us additional USD 60. It was NOT possible for the reception staff to organize this for us. It took us x phone calls to organize a suitable shuttle. Not good service, especially since we chose the hotel based on this feature. In addition, the check-in / waiting times are enormous.

The room was clean, and the bed was super comfy! Great location for getting to and from LAX, without being so close that you’re woken up by airplanes all night. No major complaints, especially given than it’s significantly less than most of the other hotels in the area and just as nice. The value for what you get is excellent :)

Breakfast is continental but isn’t free. It’s actually $20, which seems like a pretty steep price to pay for, essentially, a bagel, even by LA standards. Lots of reasonably priced food options in the area though, so not that big of a deal.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Being just around the corner from some shops was also good and I found it quiet at night.

It wasn’t made terribly clear that I had to call for the airport shuttle. Therefore I go on the shuttle to the Sonesta, rather than Sonesta Select and had to pay to get an uber over. When I asked on arriving whether this happened a lot, they agreed that it did. I just wonder why noone in management has done anything to make this really, really clear to clients.

You should be absolutely clear about the name of this hotel!! There is a Sonesta and a Sonesta Select and it is extremely confusing. After 40 hours of traveling and a stressful walk to find the red sign to airport shuttles I was pleased to get on one only to be delivered to the wrong hotel. This added to stress under the difficult reasons for my travel for my mother is dying. I then was not offered any means to get to the other hotel and was hysterical.
