The hotel was luxury and spacious. There were two public onsen for male and female. It got both inside and outside onsen. I like the perch very much which had a very nice view. It’s classy and relaxing.
We booked a room with a pool inside which costs over ¥100,000. I supposed it’s an onsen but turned out it’s hot water. Frankly, the hotel did not mention the pool in the room was onsen or hot water. That would be good if they could mark it clearly on the room’s description.

My whole stay was amazing - the staff were attentive, the included breakfast was a lovely start to the day, the room was large (for Japan), and the views were spectacular. The library space, The Perch, was such an unexpected and beautiful space. It added to the wonderful experience I had at Negiya Ryofukaku. In fact, the hotel felt so serene, that I decided to spend a day relaxing inside. The private onsen was a lovely experience. Make sure you take a day trip to Mt Rokko - I discovered this by accident and it was one of the top 3 experiences of my holiday.
It took me a couple of days to work out the best way into town and find some local highlights. Google maps was a bit misleading. A map for guests would have been handy. Oh, and some clear instructions of the best way to get back to Osaka.

Top experience! Nice location actually not far away from train/bus station, if you don’t have huge luggage. Perfect heritage hotel with spring, better to show the traditional name “ 陵枫阁” in booking than the strange translated name. I really love the wonderful view in front of hotel. And every time when I came near to the steps, the staff will come out from inside and warmly welcome me, such some detail but really represent the top service and hosting attitudes. Dinner and breakfast were also such big surprise! Beyond my expectation, especially the dinner was above the level of some Michelin Omakase!!! Please keep this level and I will come back asap and more often, and tell the Chef I love the menu and ideas more than I can say. The spring is indeed relaxing place with great facilities and view of trees and mountains view, if it is not so crowded. Again love here and please keep the high level!

The reason I pick this hotel was mainly attracted by the natural onsen as its described the top three in Japan. There are both indoor and outdoor onsen, a 'must' experience to enjoy both :) Its a Japanese traditional accommodation which was running with a long family history. You'll be treated like a VIP. The landscape is amazing like paradise. A set of Kimono was provided for each guests (man & woman) My breakfast was included and its well presented. The portion was definitely good enough for me. Wow! The standard was far beyond my expectation so I ordered a Kobe beef dinner (note: you have to order 24 hours before the meal) Highly recommended as you won't be disappointed.
Almost perfect! The shops and most restaurants are closed very early :(

Absolutely everything! The staff that had welcomed us and accompanied us during our stay was helpful, friendly and gracious. The room was absolutely gorgeous with an extraordinary view of a lushious bamboo forest from the window and the private bath. This was possible due to the residence's prime lication on the mountain side. The private bath was such a magical expirience! Hot water of approximately 41°C in a bath of natural rocks out in the open and yet, completely private. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were abundant and delicious. They were Kaiseki dinners that taught us much about local and traditional cuisine. The meals were served by staff members wearing kimonos who explained how to best enjoy the meals. Every afternoon we were served green tea and mochi in the room which wad a delightful touch to the expirience. We reserved the private onsen in the hotel for 45 minutes and it was lovely. The location was also excellent. A mere 5 minute walk from the bus and metro stations and a veriaty of street food and memorabilia shops and hanmade products. The river that flows there made an excellent hiking route and at night we saw fireflies! It was the best place to celebrate our honeymoon! Even more magical than I imagined!
We were told that there was a lounge with great coffee that we should visit after soaking in the onsen. Unfortunatly we didn't realize on time how luxurious the lounge was and we went there only the night before leaving. In the room we got one sugar+coffee+tea per person every day and in the lounge there was a great selection of hot beverages so apparently we didn't have to make due with the small quantity provided to our room. Honestly 45 minutes in the private onsen weren't enough and time flew by, especially because we had to take a shower before and after bathing in the onsen. I must say that the bath in our room felt nicer than the residence's bath area, especialy the shower.

The property was beautiful. Staff was very accommodating. The view from the room was a beautiful bamboo forest. Despite the private onsen being half outdoors there was a good sense of privacy. The hotel was a luxury spa experience. We didn't buy the meal plan. Someone came to change out the dining table for the tatami mats in the evening. Though it was raining the view from inside to the private patio was amazing. The private onsen was the crown jewel of the whole experience. This was the best part of our Japan trip and I cannot recommend this room (the one described as having a private open air bath) enough.
Getting to the hotel can be a bit difficult but the hotel provides transportation during business hours from the bus station.

First of all, the room is really good, like no joke. The bamboo outdoor bathtub is amazing, I was so excited when I saw it! The photo does not show how good it is, highly recommended to check it out in person. The moment you walk in the hotel, it feels like you're back home to relieve all your tension, the traditional layout of the room makes me feel super comfy. Every corner is clean, they do care about the details. They make your bed when you're eating dinner or walking around in Arimaonsen areas. Smooth transition into sleeping mode. The TV has smart features so you can watch YouTube or connect your device to play something. The public onsen is great, definitely worth trying it out at night. It wasn't really crowded and the environment is better than the ones on the street.
The property is built on hills, so there are some slopes in the hallway. When I wanted to buy a milk tea from the vending machine it was sold out.

We loved this little onsen hotel. Its an older more traditional hotel but we loved all of the amenities . We felt like we were in the forest with all of the trees around us . The staff went above and beyond in so many ways---driving us to a little restaurant, calling the restaurant in advance to make sure they could accommodate us, and picking us up from the train. The staff is exceptional. The traditional breakfast was wonderful too. They have a lovely meeting room in the hotel (I cant recall the name of it ) that you can go and get a coffee and tea and read, and it has nice music --we found it very relaxing and beautifully appointed. The mid century decor was lovely. Arima is a sweet onsen town that I can tell lot of locals really enjoy--we loved our one night stay here--it was just what we needed at this stage of our trip.
I cannot think of anything really

Incredible typical Japanese hotel - ryokan where you sleep on the floor. With natural onsens (springs) and magnificant view from the room on the mountains. With perfect loication quite near the bus station and free shuttle. The hotel satff is very polite and do their best to make your rest unforgetable. In addition they offer traditional Japanese breakfast and Japanese Kaiseki dinner. In this hotel one can really have rest in typical Japanese style in scilence and relaxing atmosphere. Onsens were simply the best. We've got unforgetable experience.
Everything was perfect

The staff here is amazing. They were very quick to communicate via WhatsApp, we had trouble finding the right transit options and they stayed with us on WhatsApp very actively to guide us through the directions. The room was spacious and very comfortable; we stayed in Japanese style room, I requested a separate mattress for my baby which was extra surcharge but they did great at accommodating all my requests: The onsen is very clean and relaxing. They provide with pajamas; indoor and outdoor slippers; they even provided us with a small toddler size pajamas and toothbrush which was very cute! They provide a shuttle to and from the arima onsen station, they were also able to accommodate any urgent requests such as pharmacy and medicine needs. We forgot our wedding rings at the room and as soon as we reached out to the hotel the next day after check out, the lady Izumi was quick to inform that they have kept the rings safely, they communicated very efficiently with out next hotel management and arranged for a delivery. We received our rings the next day: this was amazing and very efficient,
The bathroom could be a little more clean and an addition of microwave would make it so much easier to warm food and baby bottles. If you are not eating at the retiring finding food outside can be a little tricky,
