We absolutely loved our stay at the Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Our room/suite was beautifully appointed, offering both comfort and elegance. The breakfast each morning was a real treat—fresh, delicious, and with plenty of variety to start the day right. One of the highlights was the spa experience. So relaxing! The outdoor infinity pools, warmed to perfection, were an absolute dream—especially with the stunning views around us. It felt like pure luxury. We had originally booked the Frank Sinatra suite, which was still undergoing renovation during our visit. However, Stella, the hotel manager, went above and beyond to make things right. She was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. Thanks to her, we left with only the best memories. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing, high-end escape with top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

Saltsjöbaden is beautifully located in the Stockholm archipelago and the hotel is a fantastic old building by the sea. Breakfast was truly good, the beds comfortable and the view out to the sea wonderful as promised. Ideally, there is a nostalgic train connecting the city centre to the outskirts but unfortunately, the track is under intensive reconstruction. The bus connection is less romantic but at least you get where you need to. The hotel has construction work going on, as well, but, possibly due to the weekend, we didn't experience any discomfort. The hallways showed some clear signs of construction work but the staff did their best to mask that.

Exceptionally friendly and pleasant. (But take a look at other hotels nearby...) My room was relatively cheap, but also relatively small, and with no view. As you can see from the photos, this hotel has location, location, location. Saltsjöbaden is one of the loveliest spots and there is a bus to Stockholm right in front of the door.

Others have mentioned it, major rebuilding work. This didn't particularly worry me except that choices in food and drink were extremely limited, for this class of hotel.

Loved the historical background to the hotel and the resort. Good to experience it in reality after reading about and seeing images. Our room had fab sea vew and was spacious and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. The new outdoor dining and bar area had a great vibe. Despite Hotel undergoing some renovations, this did not detract from our stay. No noise experienced.

Just corridors outside our room were in need of decorating but can see this is in the renovation plan.

The hotel is old but it has a charm to it that I really liked. Our room was very big, with an apart section for our kid's bed so that was amazing and the sea view was incredible. It is ideal to relax because it is very quiet and far from the city. The restaurant Paviljon was also very good and has also amazing views. The staff was friendly, I didn't have any issues with them not talking in English to me.

Because they are renovating, the spa was closed but the girl at the reception gave us free tickets to the open air swimming place nearby and they had a sauna. There was a lot of renovation works near our room but it didn't actually bother us. Just the fact that some things like the French restaurant and the spa were closed.

Great overall feeling in the hotel. Great look from the window. Two types of pillows. Georgeus breakfast with lot of options and look from the window at breakfast venue. Hotel location from Stockholm center and public transportation is additional plus.

Hotel room was little bit below comfort temperature. Great for sleeping but not so great while not under blanket. Renovation works in the hotel took a little bit out of experience.

Size of the room. View from all windows was great. Excellent breakfast buffet. Was given 'breakfast to go' on my last morning as I had to leave before breakfast was served. Location perfect.

Tea and coffee that- breakfast tea provided on one day only. Every other day Earl Grey only, which I don't like and I don't drink coffee. I didnt report it as it certainly didn't impact on my stay and that is the only negative thing about my stay.

Super location, just at harbor (but not noisy). Hotel with heritage, old design and very good service. Oldish floors and public corners. Very good breakfast. We did not use the SPA. Hotel is undergoing with some refurbishments (but not dirty or broken).. Also one good restaurant in harbor if you like dining outside.

Rooms are ok but bathrooms are a bit outdated (shower corners with curtains).

It’s a beautiful old hotel well placed outside Stockholm. Hotel has sizeable rooms for a family and an excellent breakfast with variety of choice. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The surrounding area is peaceful and perfect for walks along the promenade away from bustle of the city. Can highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a tranquil stay.
