This hotel turned out to be a pleasant surprise, since I didn’t expect much based on the pictures. Yes, the room is very small, but it’s so comfy! The mattress and the pillows are perfect, it’s so quiet in the hotel that you can spend the whole day in bed comfortably. You can open a window in the room, which is rare for Stockholm hotels. But the biggest plus of this hotel is breakfast, probably the best I ever had in a hotel. Everything is right temperature and very tasty, huge selection for a small hotel like this. Lots of gluten free and healthy options and amazing deserts, including candies and cakes. I didn’t see any children around while I was staying there, probably because the rooms are too small to stay with kids, which gives you an additional bonus of peace and quiet at breakfast and in the hotel in general. The stuff is very nice and helpful, I asked for a kettle and they immediately brought it to my room. Considering how awful most of the hotels are in Stockholm (from my experience), this was a hidden gem.

May not be suited for people with mobility issues - there is a weird raised step at the entrance of the room, not sure why it’s there as it takes space from the room and has no functionality. The toilet is almost inside the shower and the bed itself is quite high. There’s also almost no storage space - for example, there’s a desk and two night stands, but none of that has any cabinets, seems like it could be easily fixed by replacing the furniture with something more functional. But it didn’t really matter for me, I had a great time in the hotel and will definitely come again in the future.

ruth reached out before arrival with restaurant recommendations, which was already a nice surprise. the conversation was super natural and smooth - they answered all my questions, gave personalized suggestions, and that's when i casually mentioned my room preferences: something near the elevator for my parents because my mom has health issues and can't walk long distances, and for us, a room with a bathtub - i'd seen one in their photos and fell in love, but didn't realize those were only in upgraded rooms. when we arrived, everything had actually been sorted. shocking, right? the reception staff were lovely - efficient, genuinely helpful, and clearly paying attention. we got early check-in, my parents got that elevator-side room (cue my massive relief - my mom could move around comfortably), and we discovered they'd upgraded us to get that bathtub i'd dreamed about. beautiful, spacious room that felt like someone thoughtful had designed it. breakfast completely exceeded expectations. we're a very specific crew with wildly different dietary needs - i'm vegetarian, my boyfriend avoids dairy, my dad only trusts food he makes himself, and my mom is the only normal human in our group. somehow everyone found something they loved and left satisfied. genuinely impressive feat. what struck me most was how the staff connected all these dots without making it feel like a big deal. they didn't just say "we'll see what we can do" - they actually made it happen, naturally and smoothly. after day two, i wrote in my journal that ruth feels like home but 2.0 and with a breakfast that doesn't make me sad. already planning my return to stockholm and to ruth. thank you to everyone who made this feel so personal and effortless.

I always stay at Hotel Ruth, when in Stockholm. I like the personalised service. That everything is fresh. The decoration and the charm. How central it is and easy to reach on foot or public transport.

I was upgraded to a fantastic room, overseeing the garden. Unfortunately, the bathroom of the neighbouring room was glued to my room. And the walls are not isolated enough, so I was disturbed every night by late showers and happy singing. I never had any problems in any of the other rooms, so I wonder if it is specific to this room.

From the moment I arrived in the early hours of the morning until the moment I left in the early hours of another morning I felt completely looked after and even a bit pampered. The staff were lovely, my room was cozy and quiet, and the breakfast was delicious. The location was fantastic for me. There were restaurants and cute shops as well as the city within walking distance. I walked into Gamla Stan and the museums area from the hotel too. I loved the little touches like a comfortable foyer area to sit and enjoy a coffee, cold water, and little snacks in between excursions during the day or for a glass of wine at the end of the evening. Just a gorgeous little hotel. Beautifully decorated.

Be aware if you are there on a Sunday or pi loc holiday you may need to look elsewhere for an evening meal.

The breakfast was phenomenal, as expected. Huge variety of things but all good quality! The lobby and the restaurant were nice and comfy, the reception personnel all very sweet. The room on the top floor was peaceful and quiet and the bed (although VERY high) extremely comfortable.

The bare stone floors in the room were definitely an odd choice. Not only were they cold but also uneven and very uncomfortable. A simple carpet would be a huuuge improvement and make the room so much more cozy and "mysigt", now it felt extremely unfinished. The curtains didn't block the light in the morning so bring a mask if you like to sleep in the dark.

Everyone on the staff seemed to be genuinely in a good mood and happy at work ; accomodating and helpful- full points for service. The hotel breakfast was the best in a long time : a very large variety of options, special diets were taken care of and there was newly baked warm bread and croissants available. I appreciated the cake table with sparkling drinks at the end of our breakfast. There was glutenfree delicious cake, too - supernice for me! The location is not in the core core center of the city but I did not mind because the area was nice and quiet; and only a few metro stops from T-Centralen /Arland Expressen. Nearby was a good Lebanese restaurant called Byblos that I also recommend. I liked the interior decorating of the hotel as well. The beds were super comfy, of high quality and great to sleep in.

Our room was clean. The breakfast was really superb, with many options. Staff were nice and responsive to our requests, including when we inquired about a slightly later checkout at no cost. While the location is not central, the hotel is close to one of the main streets leading to central Stockholm and our walk there was manageable, including in Stockholm's late November, inclement weather. On the bonus side, a bus station to Djurgarden, where there are many famous Stockholm museums, is just around the corner. Totally recommended for all types of travellers - we noticed the hotel is quite popular with a variety of local guests, including business ones.

The design of our room was a bit strange, with a relatively low ceiling and a bit uneven floor, so extra care is needed - however, that does not deduct from good overall marks.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the wonderful receptionists, and the surprise welcome drink and letter for my parents left me speechless. They were overjoyed and in tears . I, their daughter , planned this Scandinavian trip for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Stockholm was our final stop and Ruth hotel was by far the best hotel we stayed in past 2 weeks! I myself travel a lot for work and have stayed many hotels but the quality of the breakfast is amazing too. 10 points out of 10 is not enough.

A spacious room welcomed us on arrival providing a generous space for 3. The sitting areas downstairs created a sophisticated ambience without compromising on comfort. And the friendly staff added to this. Hotel Ruth provides a great breakfast. Not only does it cover a broad range of options, the quality of the offering was well above expectations.

Hotel Ruth is in an historic building. While this is definitely part of its charm, working out how best to cool the rooms after a warm day took a little experimentation. Having said that, being able to open the windows overnight is a huge plus.
