Central location and my room was on top/5th floor so exceptional views from the very large windows. Generous room size with nice integrated design. Some elements of the hotel are a bit 70s/80s throwback but these added a nice contrast to some modern hotels where throwback design is false. Dedicated parking under the hotel too. All staff were friendly and professional with special mention of Daniel who was particularly helpful on arrival, even came down to parking to show exact spot I had been given to use.

The staff was super friendly and helpful - really exceptional! There's 24/7 front desk staff, and each and every one of them was professional and nice. The hotel is located right next to the city center. To us, it was the best of two worlds: it was far enough to not be disturbed by the nightlife, but close enough to be ìn the center with a 3 minute walk or so. Also, we were a few minutes walk away from the theater, which had brought us to the city initially.

There was some mold in the shower. The staff helped out with that, though. The door to the hallway was zero soundproofed.

The room is very big and the balcony is great. It was very clean and the shower was great too. The staff (on the second day of our stay) was very helpful and went out the extra mile to make us feel better about how warm it was in the room.

The beds were not great at all sadly. The pillows also not great... and it was very warm our first night (unusally warm for Dutch weather) so we did not sleep much. Only after the staff change the next day, were we offered fans to be put in the room. Then we got a lovely note about it and extra ice-ijsjes which was very nice.

I stay at the Flonk BW whenever I overnight in Groningen. The rooms are always spacious and sparkling clean, and I love the free on-demand coffee drinks and tea 24/7. It’s more of an efficient business hotel than a quirky boutique lodging, but that’s what I’m after on my Groningen trips. Now that the center of the city is car-free, the ability to have a taxi or friend drive right to the door to drop and pick me up is huge because it spares me from carrying my luggage hundreds of yards to a lodging.

Nothing not to like.

Excellent location, mid-way between the train station and Grote Markt. It's close enough to all the activity, yet in a quite neighbourhood so you're not bothered with all the late night revelry (plenty of that!) Extremely clean rooms, standard facilities and outstanding views of Groningen (room on the 7th floor). The helpful staff are available 24*7 and are very courteous. Bicycles are available at the hotel, so that's a plus.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious, nicely located and the interior design was nice. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness. The bathrooms were fine, but in all other rooms there was a lot of dust under the beds and on lamps and shelves. Since there was a construction site in front of the house, this might have been the reason, but we wanted to share this general feedback.

Excellent location in the center of Groningen! You can walk and bike everywhere within minutes. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a lot of different choices, something for everyone, including different dietary choices!

The room was clean and spacious, but the bathroom was a bit odd. There was no electrical outlet for a hair dryer, and it had a huge bathtub that was difficult to get into instead of a regular shower stall.

Hotel is in a central location, to walking distance to city center. Rooms are nice, but you can see they have not refurbished. Still, the hotel is very clean and the staff very nice! My room at the 5th floor had an amazing view on the city center!

Car park is quite expensive, but it's a minor thing

The reception staff was outstanding- very friendly, helpful and attentive! There was an emphasis on sustainability and local products. Everything was clean.

There was no AC in our room and the windows couldn't be opened widely, which meant that the room was quite warm. There was a note that said the rooms will be renovated to get AC soon.

Staff was amazing, very kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good! the hotel is clean nicely designed, the rooms are specious and beds are very comfortable. The location is SUPERB, walking distance from the city center.

The only thing that didn't make my stay excellent was the lack of air conditioning (in July) in the room (not even in the lobby) a stay in the room in the middle of the day is impossible!
