The location, views, and quiet are what i was looking for. It's a beautful area, and the rooms are clean and in good shape. It is a seasonal resort, so it will be extremely quiet if you go in the non-ski season (I wanted quiet, so it was perfect). Very happy with the stay there, and would both book again and recommend to others. Manager was extremely helpful and courteous, that's the person you want to talk to if you want to know where to go in town.

The only downside to me, would be related to what time of year you go. If you go in June, there will be almost nothing open except a coffee shop at best. (I was fine with this---I drove to Smiths groceries in Taos and used the fridge/stove in the unit). Fireplace was turned off permanently, at least for the summer. That may seem obvious, but then again it goes down to 50-something degrees and it's a very humid type of cold. (They did have baseboard heating, I was just interested in the fireplace effect). The Sauna worked great, the Jacuzzi jets are currently out of order but a sign said they were working on it.

The location is gorgeous. You are in a beautiful valley surrounded by huge mountains. Tons of trails around, including one leading to William Lake and Wheeler Peak. Even though we arrived off-season still a few spots open in the village to wonder around into while relaxing. The bike park up the road is also really nice to play around in. The hotel itself is what you would expect, more of the charming lodge style than an ultra-modern hotel. Nevertheless, the room was right next to a creek so when we opened our window you could hear the creek all night! Staff was friendly and the place was nice and clean. Would stay again given the need and chance.

The two bedroom suite is more like a studio with extra bedroom attached, not two bedrooms. As such, the big bedroom also has the communal space so you friends will be spending more time with you than you'd expect. Also, the bathroom is in the small bedroom meaning you have to go into their room to use it. Keep that in mind for nights when someone has to use the powder room and in the morning when trying to get breakfast ready.

My son and I stopped by for 2 nights on a detour from our Route 66 road trip. We loved our compact accommodations. The ladder up to the loft was something else, however I opted for the comfy main floor bed and the views from from the front window were magnificent. The slope side accommodation allowed us to walk everywhere - chairlift, bars, stores etc. The front desk staff person was super friendly and welcoming and recommended Orlando's Mexican restaurant in Taos which was perhaps our favorite restaurant of the trip. My son spent a great day skiing while I spent a much needed relaxing day, resting my old bones, sleeping in and exploring the little village. My highlight had to be sitting outside in the beautiful sunshine at the foot of the chairlift having a sandwich and beer for lunch and of course buying a Taos sweatshirt. I would highly recommend a stay here at the Alpine Village Suites.

Everything was delightful!

The AVS is what we all imagine a ski village lodge to look and feel like. Funky logistics to get around, but total alpine feel. Room was perfect for me and my kid. Bed was very comfortable with 4 pillows, kid stayed in the loft/mezzanine accessible by ladder - her "crib". Nice bathroom. Heater worked fine. Full mini-kitchen so we made b-fast every morning. Very clean, comfortable. Fantastic location right next to Lift 1 (main base) - we skied 4-5 hours a day. Walking distance to all restaurants. Friendly staff. And, before I forget, a wonderful jacuzzi (fits 7) and sauna that I used every night to sooth my knees.

The area is beautiful. Lots of natural scenery and hiking trails. The hotel is clean and quiet. The hot tub and sauna are great.

Finding the hotel entrance is tricky. Several doors are marked as the hotel but these are not the lobby. The lobby is on thunderbird rd. Do not cross the footbridge as the doors there are guest access only after check in. The king suite is awkwardly laid out. We had to step into the second bedroom to acccess the bathroom, and our companions had to step into our bedroom for the kitchen access. We went in the off season and there was a lot of construction blocking road and trail access.

The staff at the hotel was really friendly and took the time to make sure that we had everything we needed and addressed issues quickly. The lobby entrance is a very short, flat walk from the base of the mountain, so getting to and from the lift was a breeze. Getting to use the hot tub after a long day was also amazing.

I didn't love needing to climb a ladder to get to and from my bed, but that's life in a loft I guess.

It was close to Taos, which was our destination however it was beautiful to get up in the mountains for a night and see the beautiful scenery. One of the two rooms that are connected was very beautiful with a rushing creek running by. Wi-Fi is great. Nice restaurants and gift shop even during the off season.

The property is beautiful and the resort is beautiful however we stayed in a two bedroom and the second bedroom is Windus, which is a bit uncomfortable, but it was doable and the other room is very pretty. We also found it hard to find!

Check-in was easy. The front desk agent was helpful and was able to extend checkout by 2 hours so I could work from the room on the morning on our departure. We were there in the off season, so I imagine that made it a little more flexible. The room was clean and cozy and everything we needed. We didn't realize there was a stove and it was such a wonderful surprise! We are cheap, so we almost never go out to eat. The view was delightful from the balcony. We used the sauna and hot tub the night before we hiked Humphrey's Peak and again after. It was luxurious. Truly such a great little getaway.

The ladder to the loft was just that, a ladder. It was fine (fun even) for us, but would be really challenging for some people. Especially getting luggage up there. It was cold during our stay (early November) and the room was HOT from the sun. There are blinds over the lower window and sliding door, but not over the stained glass window up top. We were able to open the door to the balcony and use the fans and then it really was quite comfortable. The jets didn't work in the hot tub, but the temperature was perfect, so we didn't mind.

We LOVED everything about our visit. We came back to stay 2 weeks later at the Alpine Village when we registered for our Cottam Lodge reservation 2 weeks before (it was our first time in Taos Ski Village). We will be regular clients now, we just loved our experience. BOUNS: we loved our check in experience, both times the registration staff were amazing, congratulations in finding such polite and professionally skilled staff. V. Mora The Grace Tree Foundation

The first room we were given smelled of body order, the reception staff apologized and quickly moved us to another room. Let us know this isn't a normal experience of their rooms.

Room 18 faced west so the sun was pretty bad when we checked in around 4:00 on July 9. I knew as soon as the earth turned away from the sun, I would love the outside patio on the west. I was right. I watched the stars from the patio that night, and the next morning I saw a double rainbow from that west-facing patio. I'll never forget it. I slept on the Murphy bed which was okay. My partner slept in the loft and it was not easy climbing up the ladder to the loft. But for the $159 we paid for the room, it was a very nice room, especially the shower. I loved it.

The loft would have made me claustrophobic, but my partner was willing to sleep there. Children would have loved sleeping there. That's the problem, we are not young enough!
