The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We requested for our room to be cleaned daily and they were very on point. They also answered our questions regarding the area forwardly which we appreciated very much. The room was very comfy especially for us who have a daily itinerary during our stay. It was spacious enough as well for our stuff and the free coffee & tea were fantastic. The location was alright for us, it gave us a good walking exercise for commute via train and it was fairly close to bus stations we can navigate. There were also a lot of food businesses around the area which were open just in time for breakfast and a little bit past your usual dinner time.

The bathroom is a bit small. The shower and toilet were close to each other so only one (1) person could really use it even if another has an emergency of sorts. But we're still thankful that hot & cold water are available and that they had completed toiletries.

Excellent Stay at Hotel 81 Gold – Thanks to James and Salma! I had a wonderful experience staying at Hotel 81 Gold, and a big part of that was thanks to the excellent service provided by James and Salma. From the moment I checked in, they were warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that everything was smooth and comfortable during my stay. James was professional and efficient, handling check-in swiftly while providing useful local information. Salma was incredibly kind and attentive, always greeting guests with a smile and making sure all needs were met with genuine care. The hotel is in a convenient location near public transport and local eateries, and thanks to the helpful staff, it felt like a home away from home. I would definitely recommend Hotel 81 Gold to anyone visiting Singapore, and I hope James and Salma get the recognition they deserve for their outstanding hospitality. For Singapore standards it’s great value for money. The room is basic and clean and everything just works. Location is great, it’s in Geylang, not far from MRT Uljunied, the Old Airport Road food Centre, lots of shops and restaurants and of course the Happy Seafood Village to drink a beer. It’s a great place to discover Singapore

Comfortable bed, smart TV, shower is small but good pressure & does the job. Room is also small, we were fine as we had backpacks however i don’t think you’d fit 2 suitcases in the room. Easily connected to MRT stations

Located in red light district, hotel is just off the main street so is quiet but as a woman i felt uncomfortable walking down the main street after dark

For a transit stop for a few days, it is ideal! The room itself is very small, but clean and has everything you need (drinking water tap, hair dryer, safe, refrigerator, clean towels, kettle). The staff at the reception is very friendly and will help you with any questions you may have. The hotel is very well located. The airport is easily accessible by metro. There is a metro station within a 10-minute walk, from where it is convenient to get to the main attractions. There are many inexpensive shops and cafes near the hotel.

Convenient property for just one night. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was amazing in the bathroom. 20 mins away from the airport and 15 minutes away from the Marina Bay area. Good location.

If you're tired of airports, planes and that food, this is a FANTASTIC place to stop for a light (not sure about more than that). Great location for local food and to get a feel of what Singapore has to offer. The staff were suuuoer friendly, helpful and fun!

The room is super basic, but it is what it is: an affordable hotel, with no charm or windows that can open. Freezing AC and blocked bathtub, but good for what it is. Internet didn't work in the middle of a (3am) work netting. Frustrating, but oh well...

Service staff were excellent, replacing towels, sheets and offering complimentary bottled water every couple of days when servicing the rooms. Very polite reception staff. Clean room. Lift looked new/recently refurbished. Toilet/shower looked new/recently refurbished. Location of the hotel is good, with easy access to public transport and food. Great location if you love durians. We stayed for 7 days and were happy to find a coin-operated laundromat within walking distance (Geylang Lorong 21)

Space in the room was a little tight, with not much room for bags. Toilet/shower was a little small with the entire floor getting wet after a shower.

The room was very clean. The staff were very helpful. The environment felt safe.

The hotel is in the red light district. However it is changing rapidly into a new vibrant part of town. If I were an investor, I would invest in property in this area
