Have Stayed here before in the family room, this time booking into the 2 bedroom bungalow self contained unit, had a large fridge, 4 burner gas stove, well equipped kitchen, liked it alot. Awesome pool and playground for children, tidy and clean

Shower kept going cold, went for a swim came back to a lot of ants on the bench, bed in larger room was a bit soft and kept rolling into the middle. Happened to be alot of fishermen and their boats 15+ quite alot of noise and partying going on but being a fair distance away from main block it wasn't too bad. Still enjoyed my stay here besides these minor faults.

We loved going for a walk to spy kiwis. The kids loved the swings and all the animals. It was so awesome hearing kiwi at night and seeing the beautiful birds. It was easy and convenient to town and beaches etc. The cabin was a great stay for our family of 5 and the beds were pretty good. We will stay again happily. I even messed up check in time and they were super awesome about it and got us in early after our long drive. Much appreciated

Hard to choose something I didn't like ! My only downside is I missed the promo on Facebook for kids to stay free in the October school holidays which would of been really good to have saved some coin.

(Stayed in May, not Feb) Stunning spot! Loved all the birdlife - it was so relaxing sitting on the porch in the sunshine with the birds all around. Super special experience seeing a wild kiwi for the first time. The manager there was the best, and I had so much fun exploring the place with her looking for kiwi! (If you're reading this, I went for a wander to say bye to you but didn't spot you. Thank you for an awesome stay! <3 ) The cabin itself was really comfy, great wee kitchenette too, but the deck overlooking the wetlands was the highlight. I've found a new favourite holiday spot, will be back soon!

We could upgrade our cabins very easily and were met by a delightfully friendly and helpful reception staff! Loved the new pool and the highlight was seeing 3 kiwi roaming around the back of the park at 10.30pm!

The carpark was free (always a bonus) although it was a bit tight if two cars needed to be parked by the cabins. Personally, I'd love a small UHT milk than having packet creamer in the room.

We loved that we were greeted right away from the beautiful Holly. Such a beautiful aura 😍 she was also very lenient with my unexpected extra guest who showed up last minute. My children loved the chickens and had fun feeding them. They enjoyed the park and stones aswell. I would definitely bring my family again 😊 next time we will definitely stay longer and check out all the things we never got to see like the track. Thank you all so much for having us x

I think the down fall would have been the middle shower in the females toilets kept randomly changing from hot, to warm, to cold the timing of not getting burnt lol but its ok still managed to get through my showever

Quiet campground near Russell. Wonderful welcome, staff was very friendly. Cabin was nice as was the deck area. Quiet at night which was very good. Easy parking in front of our cabin. Very happy with the screens on the windows/doors as it could get hot inside otherwise. Shower was good and bed was comfy. Well priced so we were happy with our stay. The only thing missing was perhaps a lounge chair or two on the deck and maybe a division between our deck and the deck in the cabin next door. Otherwise excellent.

Absolutely loved our stay! If my partner could take the swimming pool with him; he would have! Definitely coming back within the next year for a Mum & Dad getaway so hopefully we catch the Kiwi this time around. Loved the whanaungatanga from the staff. Nga mihi!!

Loved the service! We booked a cabin for two nights. After the first night a class of (rowdy) primary school students arrived and stayed in the rooms on the opposite side of our cabin. We were content to stay there, but got an upgrade to a bigger (private) cabin, without having asked. The town of Russell is a 5 minute drive and from there the ferry to Paihia in 15 minutes. Both a must see!

Ideally situated between ferry and Russell. Easy drive into town. Pool looked lovely but was closed the day we arrived because of a storm. All cleaned up promptly. Nice cabin with private deck looking towards river.

Basic shower. Somewhat tired decor. Small window blind missing.

The park is well located, the bird life is amazing, renovation is underway, the cleanliness is the best it can be while this is occurring...a bit of mould on outdoor cushions with a woven cane suspended from the outdoor deck is to be expected. This place is unique and well worth a visit.
