We have been on a three-week trip from Australia, staying in all sorts of accommodation, and I can honestly say that Anchorage Motel is the best place we have stayed! From even before check-in, Dave and Deb were an absolute delight to deal with—so helpful and accommodating, even when we changed our booking to arrive earlier and then added an extra night because we loved it so much! The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The water pressure in the shower was the best we’ve ever experienced in any hotel—such a treat after long days of exploring! The pool and spa were immaculate, and the location is unbeatable, right across the road from the water with the most spectacular views. We absolutely fell in love with Paihia and the Anchorage Motel. Thank you, Dave and Deb—we will definitely be back!

This is a great venue. Just across the road to the sea with access made easy by a ramp leading down to a sandy beach. The pool is heated and well maintained with covered seating to get out of the sun if needed. There was a spa as well, which i heard was really good from others staying. The rooms were relatively large with a spacious bathroom. All the normal facilities were available too.

It became clear that there was a bit of an ant problem, and we had to be careful about what was left out on the bench. Once we were aware, we dealt with this, but leaving a glass of lemonade on the bedside table overnight was not a good idea. Couldn't find the remote for the TV but had many other things to keep entertained.

Rooms were cosy, clean & warm when we arrived which was great simcw it was raining and cold. Hotel was accomodating with early check-in (even though we didnt arrive early) and a later checkout at 11am. Staff were polite and welcoming on arrival. We were able to enjoy our rooms and the company we had without unnecessary oversight. Although we didnt utilise the pool or spa was good to know it was avaliable. We alsp forgot to use our discount next door at blue door but again was good to know it was there. The location was very convienient for us as we dined at blue door for a family function, and was close to other accomodation family were booked in & the clubs so walking around was easier. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

That it was raining so we didnt get to enjoy a swim. The facilities do lack for the price but atleast the rooms are comfy.

We ate breakfast next door at The Blue Door. Its was very nice, but we waited over half an hour. Our room was lovely, comfy, clean and had everything we needed. Great location to the restaurant for dinner. The beach for a walk and swim.

We had to park right around the back ... maybe numbered car parking would be useful. And being summer it was so hot it would of been lovely if the pool stayed open longer in summer and opened earlier for a morning swim. Luckily the tide was right for a morning beach swim.

This was a lovely motel - just across the road from a beach you can swim at. The pool was heated and warm which was lovely. The room was basic but had everything we needed. It’s great to stay in a room with a couch to relax in after dinner. Has good air conditioning and a good sized fridge. Town was a less than 10 minute walk away, which made it easy to leave the car at the motel for the lengthy boat trip.

The bed was a little bit soft, but still had a reasonable sleep.

The room was well equipt and have everything we need for our 3 night stay. We had a room with microwave and hob so great for making brekkie. The view from our balcony was great and the Motel is well positioned for a stroll along the waterfront and a quick walk to local eateries and the town centre. Staff were lovely and room serviced daily. Would recommend

Great view over the Bay, with people having barbecues in the foreground on the path above the beach and the sea with moored yachts in the background. Large room and shower etc. A pleasant 5-8 minute walk to the village. The hosts loaned us their umbrella on the one wet day.

Just one cushion on the couch; another would be good. No armchair. Just one teabag option: regular. Louvre venetian windows hard to open and close in one unit - the lever on one louvre had broken.

Our room was just perfect for what we needed. The shower pressure was awesum! The room was clean and tidy. Had a restaurant right next door which was fantastic too. Lovely place , would highly recommend and would stay here again.

We didnt get a turn in the spa because kids were going from the pool to the spa constantly all day. They need a cut off time like 5.00 for kids to get out of the spa. Adults only time.

We took our visitors from the UK. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was superb. Our friends loved it.We thought there might be traffic noise but all we could hear were the waves on the shore. (Also, the young man on reception was exceptionally helpful)We will definitely be back.

It rained for the time we were there but that was no reflection on the motel. The spa was lovely and clean!

Location was excellent, right by the beach and easy walk to restaurants etc. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Door lock was playing up which meant only I could lock it which was a bit difficult. Washing machine and dryer were playing up as well. Staff let us use their machine which was helpful. I would recommend towel rails be installed into bathroom. There was a note saying it would be helpful to reuse towels instead of replacing each day but no where to hang them up to dry so we couldn't.
