Very close to Paihia beach, wharf, cafes, restaurants etc. The room was a good size with parking right outside. Fridge and kitchen area were clean. Bathroom had an excellent shower and plenty of hot water. The staff were exceptionally helpful in putting our food fridge stuff in their personal freezer overnight for us which we greatly appreciated.

The fridge in Room 6 had a broken icebox door and the icebox was very iced up . It's control was also broken so you could not adjust temperature at all. The bed was comfortable although we thought the top spread looked very used and a bit dirty looking. Some renewing of the bedspread would be good suggestion. Pricewise we thought the rate was a bit high for what you got . Some milk in the fridge would have been appreciated.

After a long day travelling up to the very top of New Zealand we were very excited to get to the Motel. We went during the quiet period, so it was lovely and quiet and felt like we had the place to ourselves. We jumped in the pool within minutes of being there and it was great! It was heated and seeing the stars above us was just magical. We then jumped into the jacuzzi which was even warmer, which really let us relax! The room itself was okay, enough space for our twin beds and the beds were comfy. We had heated blankets as well as a heater so we managed to get the room heated up quickly. Nice size Shower room/Toilet, with towels for us to use, as well as a small amount of shampoo and soap. They did provide a small carton of milk, and I accidentally left personals by the pool which they had collected and kept safe which I am very appreciative of. For the prices around Bay of Islands, I'm happy with the price as its cheap compared to others and you are less than a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal to explore the place. I'd visit there again! Staff was also lovely as well. Very smiley - again appreciated after a long journey!

The Kitchen area was small. The sink for washing dishes was the sink in the toilet so just felt a bit cramped. You really only have a microwave and fridge. But if thats all you need, then its great.

We have stayed here a few times. & on both occassions we have been completely satisfied with this place. We have had a family room, to one bedroom unit to a 2 bedroom unit. Each space was nice, warm, cozy, clean & tidy. We have to rate the pool & the spa a 10/10... This is always the best highlight here as the pool is heated. This makes our stay even better. Hands down a very satistfying place to stay especially with the family. This place is right around the corner from a few good restaurants & further down the road some even better restaurants. Have eaten at pretty much all restaurants. Bad habits/ Tipsy Oyster are my favs..

There was not 1 thing that i didn't like.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds were soooo comfortable, including the pillows! We needed accommodation for a family group of 20. Our family were very happy with the facilities and the service provided. The awesome BBQ facilities and heated pool area was a huge plus. Very close to the main Paihia centre where we got yummy ice cream. We were spoiled for choice when it came to choosing a place to eat out and enjoy a cold brew...or two! Handy to everything. The Beaches are walking distance with lovely walkways. Great for sightseeing and relaxing walks along the beach. Edelweiss Motel provided the perfect environment for our family weekend. We will be back!

The location of the Motel was perfect for our family of four! We checked into our room a little later then the check in times given but we were pleasantly met with one of the motel staff to settle us into our room even though it was almost 11pm at night. We couldn’t of asked for a better stay the staff were so lovely and helpful , the Room was just what we needed very good sized beds and the Spa bath was a hit after being at a wedding all day this was a Bonus to our stay. And a quick dip in the Pool before checking out was just what we needed. Thankyou so much Edelweiss Motel for your hospitality we loved our stay and will definitely be coming back to stay in the future 😌😊

I was very happy with my stay. It started with the ease of making an online booking. The photos are true to reality. My room was actually a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. The gentleman at reception was very friendly and helpful and check in took only minutes. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to use the heated pool and spa (time constraint), but it was a nice touch that it was part of the facilities. The location is perfect. It's not smack on the main drag, so less traffic, but within walking distance of many interesting sight seeing places and restaurants. I was actually a bit unwell one of the days and it was brilliant to be able to stay tuck up in bed and having such a big variety of satellite channels to watch. If you're looking for bang for your buck, then this is the place!

The heated pool &: spa was a highlight,as my mother has dementia & totally enjoyed the swim. She hasn't hopped in a pool for years. Other than than, Ashish was great. His hospitality & communication was fantastic. The room was perfect for our family & bathroom amenities were perfect, as well as able to use the washing machine & dryer for my mother's washing. Would definitely stay here again, with more family members. AAAA+++

Good clean heated pool (although the temperature did fluctuate). Big balcony. High ceilings in the room, and good big bath. Friendly and helpful staff - when the washing machine broke they let us use the staff one for free. Ability to walk into town or to the beach.

The kitchen was tiny and the freezer so blocked with ice it was hard to fit much in/the top fridge shelf was unusable as constantly covered in water. I defrosted the freezer on the first day and it was much better after that. Not so much that I didn’t like but worth being aware - The place is slightly run down (still functional), for example the cupboard doors had lots of chips on them, the washing machine had broken, at one point the water was off (the plumbers were there before we noticed). It feels like the staff are having to pick up the pieces. Not their fault but there were loud parties in Paihia on the weekends we were staying and we were able to hear the music clearly.

The location of this motel was near the town centre and the beach. Everything you need especially if you need to walk to the jetty to take the ferry or tours is nearby too all within walking distance.

The building is old, hence opening the windows makes it harder, cutleries and plates are not enough but for the price of our stay compared to other motels, I am not complaining, It was overall a good stay for our family of 5.
