The motel was just a short walk from the water and shops. Elaine was so very accomodating, we arrived pre-noon due to a tropical storm cancelling our leisurely drive north, and she unquestioningly booked us in. The room was great. With the storm raging, power was out the following morning, but Elaine brought hot water, along with hot bacon (which was delicious, oved it!), and buttered bread - so breakfasted on a cheese (which had been brought along) and bacon sandwich and cup of hot chocolate! She was super and a great host!

Nothing could have made the say better, it was great.

Hotel is well positioned to paihia wharf and shops and restaurants. Each room has an assigned covered park. My room was on the corner with 2 balconies, one a large deck. The small kitchen was great for cooking light meals, glad to have a coffee plunger. It was good to have a door between the small kitchen and the rest of the room so that food smells were restricted. Large TV w sky channels. The room was clean. Water pressure was good and enough hot water. Towels were fluffy. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. The bed was AMAZING. Better than mine at home. I would return because of the bed quality.

Lots of street noise especially from motorcycles during the night. Blackout curtains would have been appreciated. No bathroom vent. No kitchen vent. No plunger coffee. Furniture a bit shabby

The apartment was in a great location. Very close, within walking distance of everything. Was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Great find. Elaine who was taking care of the place was very warm and welcoming.

Our particular apartment adjoined the main office/reception. The bedroom in particular was right next to office and the windows were open onto car port, so when any guests were checking in/out, you could hear every word. Woke me up one morning! Elaine did say that the reception room was right next door. If you want a lie in or are light sleeper, may be wise not to stay in room 8.

Great location one street back from the foreshore. Short walk to restaurants, supermarket and jetty. Well equipped kitchenette - suitable for a 4 night stay. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive. Lots of recommendations for the local area. Laundry area for use (at a charge) - well received after a few days on the road. Small balcony with glimpse of the water. Very comfortable bed and good shower pressure.

Most of the rooms are up a set of stairs not suitable for people with mobility issues.

Great location, handy to all the shops and restaurants with four square less than 5 mins away. Had everything we needed, great having a sheltered deck where we could enjoy the view. Rooms decent size and beds comfy. Hosts were really lovely, down to earth great to chat to, really accommodating and gave great advice of places to eat and things to see and do. Being able to be picked up from the airport in Keri Keri is an added bonus.

Not much as was pretty great for what we needed. Only thing if I had to pick anything would be the stairs as no lift so we had to climb up and down, which I guess is good excercise 😂

This motel is well located, close to the water, shops and restaurants. The owners offer recommendations for activities (some can be arranged at the front desk) and restaurants, as well as membership discounts at the Swordfish Club. The room is quiet, spacious and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. I loved the balcony, overlooking the water and the hillside, it is a great place for morning coffee and an evening beverage. There is parking on site included with the room.

hosts very helpful and accommodating. i thought i had booked a 2 bedroom apart but turned out i had booked a studio by mistake. they kindly moved us to a 2 bedroom apartment at a small extra costs for the 2 nights available in that and then helped us move to the studio. they also generously provided us with milk, tea sugar etc every day at no extra charge.

we found everything was great and all we needed

The comfortable beds, tidy, door that separates the kitchenette, the Lazboys, balcony and best of all, Elaine who welcomed and farewelled us with an endearing persona and beautiful smile. Easy walk to the centre, Four square grocery and ferry. Very peaceful and clean. Loved dining on the balcony. Kitchenette had everything we needed so we enjoyed our own healthy meals while saving money. A touching welcome with a box of chocolates.

The remote control malfunctioned, it got sorted. But it seemed that the other rooms' tv's intercepted the signals and vice versa. The balcony also did not prevent the smokers' puffs next door. Luckily, they left early.

Older style that was well maintained and had great attention to detail. The bed was comfortable, the reclining arm chairs were great, and it was lovely to be able to sit outside on your own balcony. Also the little things made it comfortable, like really nice mugs to use, not those cheap thick ones other motels have.Easy walking to shops and restaurants, would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately the shower pressure was extremely bad, which is such a pity because everything else was so good.

Location was excellent, unit with 2 bedrooms was big, all facilities worked and we did not have to carry our luggage far as the unit was on the ground floor. Comfy beds.

Being picky - only one mirror in bathroom, there could have been extra mirrors in the bedrooms. Provide two tea towels instead of just one, since there were kitchen facilities. Floor boards were a tad squeaky.
