Great location - right across the road from a safe swimmable beach, gorgeous sunrises. Well placed at the quieter end of Paihia with food shop (dairy / 7-11 almost next door and a decent supermarket less thn 1km away - an easy level walk). The owner was immensely helpful, even cleaning my car windows before I left! The room was spacious with a separate kitchen (about 5 sq meters) with microwave, cooktop and decent sized fridge. Housekeeping was spot-on, everything made spick and span every day. It's months since I've slept all night - I did it every night here and feel 10 years younger as a result. I will be back.

Having to think hard about this. OK - a small cooking knife would be an improvement. I would probably have been given one if I'd bothereed to ask for it - the owner is that kind of helpful guy.

Had a great stay. Owner was great and gave some great feedback on tours etc and responded to anything we needed. Room was clean and tidy and as expected from photo. We were able to park right outside and was a lovely short walk to both Waitangi and main part of town for cafe's restaurants.

Nothing we didnt like. Note that there had been a cyclone come through a few days earlier so the beach wasnt great but understandable given the weather.

Wow what a view from beachfront studio. Generous size with everything thing you could need. Staff Excellent. We stayed early April and very peaceful and quiet at night. Lovely to lay in bed and hear waves lapping the shore. Laundry was modern I used dryer which was good value $6. Takeaway Shop just around corner. Just walk across the road to safe beach. Would love to stay there again. Some tours picked us up from our front door.

Our Host Jimmy was gracious, accommodating and sincere. Bay Sands Seafront Studios location is in a Prime position - a heart-beat away from the ocean!! In actual fact, we fell asleep to the gentle sounds of the ebb and tide of the ocean - it was Perfect!! And, when we Greeted the Golden Sunrise - it took our breath away!! We Loved our walks along the shoreline. And, our studio was warm, comfortable, ever so quite and if this is liken to Heaven-on-Earth, albeit being temporary, we're in Paradise!! Thank you Jimmy.

We woke to sounds of nature, witnessed a gentle breeze rustling through a canopy of evergreens. And, birds singing their little hearts out - so sweet!! The rich vibrant pink hibiscus in full bloom...and, friends of nature dot the landscape. We had a Great time - it was peaceful and calm!! What's not to like when we're in Paradise - how does one remove the 'sad' emoji? Let's replace it with 🥰...now, that's better!! We are here to uplift and elevate the vibrational frequency of our environment as our thoughts, beliefs and behaviours impacts our time in space. Blessings to you and yours 🪷🙏🪷.

The location was fantastic, a beautiful Seaview over the bay of islands, just a short stroll into town and the jetty. Minutes drive from the treaty grounds, and a well stocked supermarket nearby. The owner, Jimmy was sopersonable, helped us with anything we asked for including offering to give us a lift to the top of the waterfall so we could make a one-way, walk back to our accommodation. Jimmy was always smiling and happy to help us in any way..

I can’t think of any real faults

We stayed in the beachfront upstairs apartment. I can say only praise - spaciousness of the room, lovely view and beach across the road, super clean and tidy, beds huge and comfortable, nice crisp linen, they were really thoughtful about what you may need in the kitchen, lovely live flowers all around the place, walking distance to the center and the wharf, swimming beach in front. Lovely wrap around balcony with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the views where I spent most of the time) The owners were super friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend it. We are definitely coming back soon!

Everything was great)

Fabulous location, right across from the beach, and an easy walk into the center of town. We had an upstairs studio facing the water, and the view was incredible! I couldn’t believe that we had the same view as people paying MUCH more in other properties. The staff was pleasant, and helpful, offering suggestions for restaurants and answering any questions. There was a very well-equipped kitchenette, and a laundry on site, as well. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a Paihia holiday.

Very comfortable, well equipped kitchen, unit very roomy, excellent location could walk across the road to beach, close to all amenities, supermarket nearby. Owner was very friendly and accommodating, offered to take our bags to unit on arrival and willing to help with anything we wanted. He even checked the car tyre pressures before we left to see if they needed air. A very helpful lovely man. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Could'nt fault anything about this property

Bay Sands was perfectly situated away from the main crowded area of Paihia yet close enough to walk to access all the activities offered at the wharf. It was also walking distance to Waitangi treaty grounds and the Hararu water falls. The beach area across the hotel was perfect to enjoy a quiet swim and a picnic in privacy. The unit was neat and comfortable with all appliances I could possibly need. The ?owner Jimmy was very pleasant and helpful.

I could not fault amything

This motel is located across from the beach and about 400 m from the center of Paihai. There is a great place for breakfast and lunch 150 feet to the left of the motel. There is also a small convenience store there as well. The motel has been refreshed with new shower stalls, and paint/wallpaper, pictures. The rooms are a good size with 2 beds and a table. There is a fridge, microwave, dishes etc. The beds seemed soft but were quite comfortable. You can call ahead for a late check-in.

Can be a challenge to park a larger car.
