Spacious studio. Large balcony facing the pool area and the bay. Just perfect. Great location. Free parking. Restaurant was fabulous. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

I would suggest placing a handrail alongside the toilet as they are lowset and for people with disabilities, its very hard to manage getting on/off toilet. The same applies to the shower over the high-set bathtub. It's a safety risk to physically impaired people. The lift is a bit scary as it bounces when it reaches each floor. A strong hydraulic smell in lift. Signage in lift indicates it's safe, however it didn't necessarily reassure us.

The staff were very attentive, super helpful and accommodating. I booked an overnight stay as a gift for my mother’s 74th birthday in which we stayed together at the resort. Unfortunately the weather was terrible however we were kindly upgraded to the top floor with an ocean view by the Manager. Location was lovely and the restaurant on site was perfect as we didn’t need to leave it for dinner in the rain. Disability parking was located undercover and in close proximity to reception which was also perfect! Large room with comfortable beds and good wifi. I had requested a candle on dessert for celebrating the birthday and they followed through with the request making my mother’s birthday even more special!

In regards to the bathroom,/toilet it was not able to be easily accessed using a wheelchair. Other than that the room was spacious and accessible.

This was a great hotel to base in for exploring the Bay of Islands. The hotel is really the only nice and well located accommodation in Paihia. We had a lovely large studio with a terrace and kitchenette located on the top (4th floor) with a lift that offered spectacular views out across the beach / bay. The hotel has a lovely large pool on the first floor as well as four heated plunge pools and a large lounge area that also offers spectacular views out over the water. There is also a nice restaurant on this level offering great views where we had a very nice meal one evening. The staff were friendly and the rooms were well serviced although there is a bit of wear and tear on the woodwork but that did not detract at all from our wonderful experience at this hotel. It is worth noting the beach in front of this hotel is sandy whereas, around the corner, where the main wharf and shop area is located, the beach is pebbly. It is an easy five minute walk around to the ferry wharf to catch cruises out to explore the Bay of Islands and to access shops and other cafes etc. I would urge anyone considering this hotel to stop procrastinating and just book. You will not be disappointed.

Stayed 2 niggts paid for breakfast . Both mornings the staff in there completley got our breakfast order wrong. 1 morning they gave us 1 plate with only half the meal n the waitress goes. Half breakfast like u asked for . We was like ummm lets be polite say nothing eat the 1 egg 1 strip bacon 1 tosst n get outta here we then went into town n got a proper breakfast. Very poor restraunt skills n presentation on that side of the accomadation . But room an in house reception where lovely

We liked the hotel and location. Staff very pleasant. Liked having a washing machine but one on the second floor wasn’t working. Easy to walk to piers and restaurants. Liked having the kitchen and living room. Pretty view from our room. Comfortable beds.

No Kleenex, paper towels in room. No sponges for cleaning kitchen counter. There should have been more detergent for washing dishes. Shouldn’t have to buy bottle of detergent or these other items for 3 nights’ stay. I fell crossing the road to the hotel one night. No tissues or paper towels to wash and clean my wounds. Only TV station was Al Jazeera. Staff could not fix this.

Proximity and walking distance to Tiriti o Waitangi significant landmarks. Close to the ferry terminal and beach.

Slow breakfast service in restaurant held us up for our first 2 mornings. Laxidaisical attitude from the staff (we were not on holiday) to our dilemma. The restaurant ran out of granola (I think! as I only had a teaspoon sprinkle on top of my bowl of yogurt). They had definitely run out of yogurt and only had enough for 1 person to order that breakfast. ( as the previous day it had taken almost half an hour to produce poached eggs so we had wanted to select an uncooked breakfast). option. Room was clean as was the balcony and communal areas. Pool was refreshing and inviting. We had everything we needed except a quick cheap breakfast! To be fair to Paihia Resort the day 2 breakfast was removed from our final bill on check out as I was dissatisfied.

Views from the Spa Studio and the size of the room was perfect. 10/10 on space and amenities.

The let down was your restaurant. Overpriced menu on all items - Cocktails too sweet with syrup and not mixed properly. Also Pina Colada was shocking - it does not have Strawberry Syrup nor should it look like a milkshake with a fizzy pink froth and be strawberry flavoured. Having such a limited overpriced menu would be ok if the meals matched the price... but my dessert (Creme Brulee) was childlike portions and the small teacup it was cooked in barely had a quarter of dessert in it with a spoon of icecream. Need to change menu and prices to be more versatile and user friendly.

Very friendly staff, they left a little note saying happy birthday in the room which I thought was very sweet and a nice touch. The beds were really comfy and big! The spa bath is lovely and big with a powerful shower too. The room had everything you needed and a kitchen with all equipment and utensils. Location was good, right by the beach and only a 10 minute walk into town

The photos are a bit misleading in my opinion. Make it seem much bigger and grander than it actually is. The pool area is quite small and sad looking compared to how it looks in photos. I agree with a lot of the comments saying it’s in need of a refresh. The balconies directly overlook the pool and are very close, so especially if you are on the second floor, anyone at the pool can see and hear you very well. Our toilet flush didn’t work properly half the time (had to stick our hand in the back to fix it). These are all not major issues and it is a nice hotel, I just believe for the price they charge it is not worth it.

Very comfortable stay with a lovely balcony view towards the bay. Should have gone to the restaurant earlier in the stay as the meal we had there on the last night was one of the best meals I have had in a long time (I had the venison). Comfortable good sized living room/ dining room and bedroom. Shower was very good but might be difficult for people who can’t step over the side of a high-ish spa bath. Comfortable walking distance to the main shops and restaurants.

Internet connection was not great but we managed.

Great room opening onto the pool. Excellent pool. Great aircon & comfortable huge bed. Large bathroom with spa bath. Onsite restaurant. Only 10 mins walk into town. All staff helpful when needed. Onsite spa although we didn’t get a chance to use.

Needs more sunbeds for the number of rooms. Understaffed restaurant. Short of utensils etc in kitchette although the bar were happy to help when asked.
