We stayed at the hostel. Perfect for one night before hitting the road. It looks old from outside but brand new inside Breakfast is very good, everything to have a real English breakfast with fried eggs and bacon. Big room with all the comfort, two shared toilets and one bathroom, very clean The restaurant is very good ! We stopped there because of the a problem with our car that was fixed the next morning by a great mechanics located just next to it

The pillows could be changed The area as there is not much to see since it is on the road but once again perfect for a one night quick stay

We got a very clean, comfortable, bright and actually cosy room with its own tap and sink in the hostel part. The shared bathroom was good with easily available hot water. Pleasant staff. Some version of good quality English breakfast in the morning - and excellent value for money at the price we paid.

The location is very convenient to get to Þórsmörk, the bus starts directly of the parking lot next to the hotel. The hostel rooms are spacious compared to other places and are very clean. Bathroom and extra separat toilette were clean (and for 4 rooms very comfortabble). The breakfast is decent and has all you need for a good start for your day. Room 201 is facing the street and therefore a little louder, but we found a very restful sleep.

Everything was very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy to find right on the main road. Plenty of parking.

I could hear some kitchen noise through the wall to my room, this might bother some people. It was only on a few occasions. The pillows weren’t very good.

Clean and fairly spacious rooms. Shared bathrooms are also very clean. Breakfast is good and various ( continental ) and there’s a restaurant next door. If you want to eat in the room like us, they’re very kind to provide you plates and forks & knives. We even saw the aurora from their parking lot :)

Nice, clean rooms. Shared bathrooms were very clean too. Rooms were small, but we only were there to sleep, so it served the purpose. Breakfast was top of the line. Lots of variety. Staff was very friendly

Back at Kanslarinn, back at room 204 (our wish was fulfilled). We can highly recommend this place because it is very good located quite central at the ring road, has comfortable rooms and the breakfast offers a good choices for a good start into the day. We came third time during our Iceland vacation this year and would come again if we are around.

The room was quite modern and clean. Perfect location. The bathroom was also clean all the time. Breakfast could be improved but it was quite good.

There is no kitchen and not so many food choices in the area.

Beautiful and modern rooms. We were expecting 2 beds in a shared room with shared bathroom. Instead we were provided with a really nice, super-clean modern private room with private bathroom, closet, mini fridge and desk. Really nice breakfast with quite variety of options. The staff was really polite. We enjoyed staying here a lot. .

The owner give us an upgrade with 2 beautiful bedrooms rather than the hostel, we appreciate it a lot. We also dining at the restaurant and everything was good but please put in the menu something to vegetarian people. Good breakfast
