This labyrinth of white walls and bougainvilleas was the perfect backdrop to our stay on Stromboli. Simple but functional rooms with access to a private volcanic beach and crystal clear water (so good we never even used the pool!), and a short walk to town. The hotel kindly organised collection and drop off at the port for 10€ for us to align with our ferries. The breakfast caters to all tastes with a generous spread of cereal, bread, cold cuts & cheese, pastries, fruit and GF options. The restaurant and bar on site serve incredible food and the staff were all so helpful and friendly! And the rooftop with views of the volcano was superb!

The hotel layout is like a small city - many connected spaces, levels, decks, etc. I loved it. The view outside our room was a lava seacliff with waves crashing down below (and a small beach to access). The restaurant was good (and open), and the shuttle service was prompt and efficient. The hotel was experienced with early arrivals on the ferry and made it clear when our room would be ready - it was ready earlier!

The main issue is that walking around Stromboli's narrow lanes is a bit of a challenge, so once at the hotel, you tend to stay there. Fortunately the hotel grounds are vast and spectacularly planted, with sea views, quiet spaces, food and drink, etc.

This hotel was the perfect getaway for us. The tranquility is what we searched for in Stromboli. It’s further away from the business at the harbour. They arrange a shuttle from and to the harbour for €3,5 per person. You had to walk 10 minutes for nearby restaurants (try la lampadera), but the hotel has it’s own restaurant as well if you want to stay there. We enjoyed the private beach and our terrace looking over the sea. We ate the breakfast at the idyllic terrace and enjoyed the calm of this hotel. Thank you!

Great location with amazing views of the sea as far as you can see! Also has access to a small beach area to swim and the sea is clear and beautiful. We also had a lovely breakfast each morning. Really friendly and helpful reception staff and a great shuttle service from the ferry port.

We had a room that could be connecting so a little noise from the other room and also noise from the roof terrace above us too. May have been more of an issue in the height of summer but was fine in April.

Hotel Vilaggio is a great place to stay! It is creatively designed with rooms and facilities on many levels, interwoven with beautiful gardens, and perched on rocks above two black sand beaches, with stunning views everywhere. Our room was small (others were bigger, presumably at a higher rate), but with a mesmerising sea view - from our balcony we could watch the waves lapping or crashing onto the rocks and sand below. It is possible to walk into town and to the port, or taxis are available for a flat fee of €10 (hold on tight!). The staff were very courteous and professional. Several spoke good English and were pleased to help in any way. Breakfast was self-serve, and although boiled eggs were the only hot option, there was a wide range of sweet and savoury food and drink (try the delicious almond granita!). Elsewhere on site there is a bar and popular restaurant, serving largely fish and seafood, but a few other options too, for lunch and dinner. Having taken a boat trip to see Stromboli’s majestic eruptions, we did make one trip into town (La Luciano is a good place to eat, and to buy takeaway street food), but had little need to leave Vilaggio as it was so relaxing. We did pay (just go with it) to use the stunning infinity salt water pool, and used the compulsory swimming caps (Smurf hats!), taking the opportunity to relax on loungers, drink in the view and enjoy the jacuzzis. Bathing and snorkelling from the black sand beaches was also a pleasure.

In 40 years of travelling, we have never come across a hotel that charged its residents extra to use the pool. Not a problem, though.

The hotel is located on the coastline with a very small private black sand beach, and a swimming overlooking the ocean and beach. it has very beautiful and spacious public areas, a few restaurants, lounges sitting places, sofa bed, all facing either the ocean or the Stromboli volcano. the property has very beautiful gardens, and many plants it is absolutely beautiful just walk around. The room is very basic, but with such spacious and optional choice of public areas, I think no one will stay in the room during their stay. The hotel is 10-15mins walk to the town center or pier, so very easy to walk around.

Would have been nice to have some cushions for the chairs on our seats view balcony to make a more comfortable and relaxing space to sit in the shade and admire the views. Would have been nice to have two or three parasols in the pool area to allow those of us with a skin complexion more sensitive to the sun to lie on the sun loungers for longer

Wonderful views, with semi private access right to the beach. Small terrace and outdoor seating outside the rooms. The room was generously sized, clean, quiet and comfortable. Working air conditioning and fridge, piping hot shower. The check in was available super early, and the staff were friendly and helpful and quickly arranged another room when all ferries were cancelled due to wind and we stayed another night. The breakfast had a lot of options and was good value. As was the shuttle service and small packed lunch provided with our early check out. Would highly recommend this place.

Stunning location and just about as perfect as you could wish for. Lovely little old fashioned room with air con and good facilities. Basic but perfect. The views from the balcony are wow! Infinity pool overlooking a black beach and clear still warm water. Go for food and get the same views. Breakfast will not leave you disappointed. Great service from the staff and great taxi service from the port. You have to take this but keep your arms in the tuk tuk. It’s tight.

A beautiful hotel within the rocks with a few little and almost private beaches. The flowers are amazing and the view from the room, breakfast and lunch ! Nice swimming pool too, but you need a cap. The staff is kind and so helpful with everything. It’s a romantic place in a romantic island.

Everything was perfect except the bed. We had two separate beds, a bit unstable and the mattress was bad. If the hotel improves the beds it will be 10!
