OMG! Best in all. Great location in center of walkable (flat) historic town with lots of shops, restaurants and outdoor dining option. Gardens are beautiful. The staff are super helpful esp Natasha at Reception, Gaulco at the bar . Indoor and outdoor pools are great. Lots of garden lounging areas around the hotel. LOVE UNDERGROUND PAY PARKING because not lots of parking close if lugging suitcases. Beautiful modern interior, reasonably priced restaurant and delicious lunch and dinner when you are too tired to go out. Arranged 90 min massage and it was heavenly and reasonably priced. So glad I decided to splurge on special deal 160 euros a night! I didn’t want to leave and definitely will be back. Highly recommend.

A modern, calm and welcoming place with nice natural details. The staff, in particular Natasha, at reception was lovely, smiley and helpful. Breakfast until 10:30 and checkout at 12:00 allowed for a lay in and didn’t feel rushed to leave. The car park also very useful and secure.

The outdoor swimming pool was very cold and the indoor one is a bit small and gets busy easily.

Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Very clean ( apart from a few things under the bed, including tablets) and new hotel. We had our dog with us, and although we were not able to use the restaurant, we could take him into the bar area. We could also order food into this area. On a wet day, that was a real bonus as a lot of the outside seating was not really usable. Most restaurants/cafes in Portugal (and Spain) don't allow dogs inside. Restaurant Astoria ( 5 mins walk from the hotel) does allow dogs inside, even on the rooftop cocktail bar and is fantastic. Great underground parking. Not cheap but very secure/convenient.

I prefer the sink to be in the bathroom rather than outside. The outside terraces are useful but we seemed to get smoke wafting in as it was close to an outside/garden area. For €70 for 2 nights for our small dog, it would be good to get bowls. It's not really a problem but most dog friendly hotels offer a little more than simply the right to stay, especially when they are charging €35 per night.

Its a new hotel and the vibe is really nice and fresh. Breakfast is amazing! it's really worth it, there's so much variety and everything is fresh. Staff is always restocking and everyone is lovely. The room was impeccable, bed is really comfortable, pillows are huge and comfortable as well, complementary drinks in the mini bar and a little sweet treat to welcome us! We had a little balcony from where we cold see the Basilica dos Congregados , the Jardim da Avenida Central and the Basilica of Bom Jesus do Monte. I can imagine it's actually quite nice to get some room service and enjoy the view while having a meal. During the day if you open the windows, since it is a central area you can hear traffic and people outside but once they are shut and during the night, its really quiet and relaxing, there's no noise at all even from the other rooms. Spa and restaurant areas are really nice, we visited beginning of march, although it was sunny it is still a bit chill to use the outside pool.

The spa area was really nice, the pool water was warm, all the amenities were lovely. It is a bit small tho. I personally don't believe 15 people can fit in the spa pool comfortably. And once people start showing up there is no place no put their stuff down. There is the locker room but i'm sure sometimes its easier to jut grab a towel without needing to leave the hot room. In the bedroom, there is a hair dryer which is lovely and works really well. But, I couldn't find an electricity plug in the bathroom so, it's a task that has to be done outside, in the bedroom and there is only one mirror, the one in the bathroom and the hairdryer cord is not long enough to get in there.

This is a beautifully designed hotel, it has a lovely feel and atmopshere. A lot of care and attention has gone into the build and interiors. The food is great! Very good quality including breakfast (a special mention to the lovely lady who makes the omelettes and fried eggs). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There could have been a waiter checking the pool to see if people want drinks, especially on hot days. You had to go and find a waiter and order at the bar which was a pain when you've just got out of the pool. More attention is needed there and generally more attention needed in the bar. The ladies who do the rooms need to check to see if anything has run out - I was constantly asking for things - more shower gel, water, toilet rollls! Dirty glasses stayed in my room for 3 days until I took them away myself. Its not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.

Staff was super friendly and almost all of them spoke good English. The location of the hotel is brill. The hotel was recently refurbished, very new and nice. I chose the hotel for the outdoor swimming pool, which as very nice given the summery temperatures. The room was spatious and also very clean, and the bed comfy.

Air conditioning control unit was impossible to operate - staff operated it from a distance but I still found it rather warm in the room. Opening a window is possible but there was a lot of outside noise from an airco unit and music emanating from other rooms. The changing room (actually a bathroom with amenities for changing diapers, a shower and toilet) could not be locked and the light did not work on most days. I did not complain, and just changed in my room. No harm done.

The room was cozy, spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The location was perfect to visit the center on foot. The spa was very clean, we had a robe and spa towel available upon request. The swimming pool was small, but it was quiet with a nice peaceful light, enough for an hour. The sauna and banho turco were good.

The half board restricted the dishes we could choose. For example, we couldn't choose a starter from the menu, instead we had to pick a salad from the salad menus as a starter which was a very big portion and not so interesting for us (not a local dish), and the price difference wasn't significant. Regarding the main course, one fish dish and one meat dish were also excluded although the price difference was not significant too. Regardless, the food was very tasty and high quality and the staff was wonderful.
