Excellent breakfast, the lunch and dinner menus look amazing too. This place has a great reputation - among strong local competitors - as a destination venue for excellent food, drink and hospitality. The gastro pub area that occupies the ground floor is nicely laid out and thoughtfully designed - feels like somewhere you'd want to hang around in and enjoy at a leisurely pace. Sam, Steven and the team made me feel well looked after. They gave me helpful recommendations for a couple of things I needed to attend to before setting off for the wedding I was due to attend. The coffee downstairs is superb. The room itself has a Dolce Gusto coffee maker with hot chocolate on offer too. A proper-sized kettle on hand too. A spare guest / kids bed in its own little area at the side of the room with its own storage, which would be fun for a kiddo over maybe three or four because the sleeping area is at bunk bed height - not an option you'd want to use for really tiny kids. Loads of room though for a cot or an air bed to be set up if needed. Lovely big comfy bed in the family room I stayed in, big comfortable bath - big enough for a large man like me to get along with. Free parking, great links to local amenities - Coleford is minutes away. That said, and while you're literally just off the road, you'll get a great night's sleep: there are great blackout curtains which make it easy to drift off and once the pub downstairs has closed up for the night, the whole place is whisper quiet. Loved the place.
Very little. Bit tired and deserving of a bit of tlc or a dab of paint / some intensive scrubbing in places, but nothing made my stay uncomfortable or hard to enjoy. The bathroom sink tap in my room confused me - seems designed to supply warm or hot water only - might be user error. Not a lot of hanging space, but enough for a solo traveller for a couple of nights and plenty of room to spread out in and lots of storage.

Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Really quiet during the evening and at night. Plentiful parking. Useful guest fridge with milk and orange juice.Large tastefully furnished room. We ate in the downstairs restaurant on both nights of our stay. The food was of an excellent quality and extremely well presented.
We were surprised that the central heating wasn't on upstairs/ in the large family room we had given that our stay was in November and the nights were chilly. A small portable heater was provided in the room and the owner readily supplied a further small portable heater upon asking. The bathroom in particular felt cold in the evening and at night. We did wonder if there was a general problem with the heating affecting the whole building but felt that the owner would have mentioned this, had this been the case.

Stayed with my 5 year old son, the family room was clean and comfortable, we had dinner and breakfast at the pub and both were absolutely amazing, there is a good outside area where my son could run around safely. Great location for both puzzlewood and the caves, free parking and free WiFi. Staff had a warm and welcoming attitude, if we ever come back to coleford we would definitely stay again. We had the perfect 2 night stay

The room was very comfortable and offered, tea, coffee, hot chocolate making facilities. There was also sparkling water and orange juice available from a fridge in the hallway. The location is excellent for visiting Puzzlewood and Clearwell Caves. Breakfast was very nice, I tried both cooked and continental during our two night stay and very much enjoyed both. We had one evening meal while there which was also very good, alongside the cocktails which were very nice and an excellent price.
It was quite noisy of a nighttime as on a fairly main road with frequent traffic. We also had a sheep right outside our window the first night which stayed all night, but I think that isn't the norm.

Great location in Forest of Dean. Quiet country pub with large, clean, well equipped ensuite rooms and a really excellent breakfast. We had an evening meal there which was all locally sourced and very good with amazing desserts [5 Reasons To Love Chocolate and the Sticky Toffee Pud were out of this world]. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The Miners Inn is the BEST inn by far! The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The grounds were beautiful. On this 7-day road trip and we stayed in many small inns like this throughout the UK. This inn is so special. The innkeeper and his wife restored this inn. The pride that they took in their little Inn was exceptional. The service was top notch The Inn Keeper (Husband) was the sweetest person, a great cook, and the nicest person. He and his family live on the property. So service was exceptional. The best part is he is very close to Puzzlewood. No doubt we will return!

Easy to get to. The room was spacious with a comfortable king-sized bed. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, and the food was superb! (We booked an evening meal. We thoroughly recommend that all visitors do this). Best wishes to the owners, and may their business go from strength to strength.

This little gem was perfect after a day of walking around the forest of dean. Once we checked in, we never left until check out time. We decided to have food, which was amazing and would recommend. The room was perfect, comfy bed, plenty of room, and the little touches just made it complete.

Beautiful little place in the middle of nowhere which we LOVED, clean tidy and comfortable, staff were absolutely lovely and helpful, and the food served at the pub was incredible! They even had a little fridge with milk and juices which were free of charge, loved this little added extra

Breakfast was excellent freshly cooked full English very tasty and usual croissants, pan au chocolates and cereals.
Such a shame the main restaurant was closed both days I was onsite as the food and reviews looks amazing but understand they can't be open 7 days a week at the moment hopefully this will change soon.
