This is a very cute place , well decorated , well equipped .... we were comfortable . super friendly staff and great information about where to eat and what to visit

..we were stuck during the black out which was beyond the control of anyone 😞 however we could have been provided with candles or flashlights / our laundry got stuck in machine overnight and we left with wet clothes... a check in from the reception would have been cool in these circumstances also b & b means bed and breakfast ...I assumed breakfast was included... it was not .. be attentive while reserving it's an option

We stayed here while hiking the Fisherman’s Trail, and the location was perfect — in the town itself, which is small and charming, and just a short walk from everything we needed. The space is beautiful, and our room was very comfortable — a cozy retreat after long days of hiking. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. They provided detailed information about nearby restaurants, and we really appreciated their reminder to support locally owned businesses. One standout recommendation was the restaurant Aspa, just around the corner — absolutely worth a visit! A lovely touch was the 24-hour access to coffee and tea — such a small gesture, but one that makes a big difference. And the breakfast… it was unbelievable. An enormous spread with eggs, cheeses, meats, breads, cakes — all delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. We did have one mishap during our stay, but the management responded promptly and professionally. They took care of it in a way that showed integrity and respect for their guests — and that left a strong, positive impression. This guest house combines comfort, location, and genuine hospitality. It made our time on the Fisherman’s Trail even more enjoyable, and we’d absolutely stay here again.

The place was super cozy and clean, the staff and the owners went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. The BnB has ample sunlight all through the day and the town is so quiet and peaceful with a grocery store and a few restaurants right round the corner. The owners and staff made sure to ask us if we were enjoying our stay every day of our trip. Can't help but think that a hot tub would make so much sense for this property ;).

There was a foul drainage smell from the toilet and the shower cubical which can really be looked into. There is also a gas station at the back of the hotel that has a rather loud pump that keeps coming on every now and then, we understand that this cannot be helped but is just something that light sleepers should be aware of if they opt for a room at the back of the property.

The place was very clean and in a good shape. The furniture and utilities are all working and pretty new. The couple who rents out the place is very friendly and helpful. We would always come back to this uniquely lovely place! I need to say that the kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed to cook comfortably.

Honestly... I couldn't find anything that wasn't at least 'good'. One thing which isn't really transparent is that the two bedrooms aren't separated completely as they are very openly connected through the living- and kitchen room.

Pure Fonte Velha is a gem of a B & B. It’s clean, comfortable, modern, and well situated in town (close to restaurants, markets and the Fisherman’s Trail. The owners were lovely, allowing us to check-in early on a rainy day. Heated towel bar in the bathroom, great shower, balcony and air conditioning. There’s a kitchen for guests to use anytime, as well as various lounges throughout the building. Breakfast is outstanding, with lots of variety of breads, pastries, salads, eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereals, nuts, cheese, meat, and a coffee machine.

Nothing!

In the middle of nowhere is this truly charming spot! Breakfast is amply and varied with nothing forgotten.

Only a more clear explanation of the entry code system. I didn’t focus on which device was being highlighted to tell me the entry code, so mistook the key box for the coded machine, which took a What’s App call to Andrea to get that problem resolved. That was my being overwhelmed with info at check-in. One concern is the slipperiness of the shower floor ( a problem throughout Portugal!). I don’t see much of a “fix” other than some stuck-on adhesive spits that feet can touch to avoid falling. (Luckily, it’s a corner-entrance shower -to my recollection- so the slip wouldn’t be far!)

We didn't stay in the B&B but in one of the apartments. Therefore, we didn't use the breakfast service. The apartment had a convenient size, its location in downtown Vila do Bispo was excellent, and we much enjoyed the small next door restaurant. Design and decoration were modern and pleasant, all facilities worked perfectly, including the electric shutters. Thanks to the good sound isolation, it was quiet - despite a nearby construction site. We much appreciated that the ground floor apartment was easily accessible with just one entrance step.

For two normal size people the bed was on the smaller side and for us a bit too soft. The modern and clean bathroom offered nice amenities but the toilet itself was very small and had an uncomfortable position. Sometimes, finding a parking space can become a real challenge...

Breakfast was great. They set out baked goods, eggs, ham and other meats, fruits, yogurt, and more. They provided coffee, tea, juices and water. It was off season and the B&B was not full, but their breakfast seemed like they had prepared for a full house.

We had nothing negative to say about the B&B and their staff. Since it was off season, we did have a little trouble finding an open restaurant. A short ride to a nearby town found a great pizza restaurant.

This was my 2. stay with Andreia and Fernando. They and their staff were welcoming and helpful and have created an excellent stay. The restaurant recommendations are perfect and give you a sense of local, tasty food. I love the design of this B&B, just like the one they are renovating (Pure Flor de Esteva). The little courtyard is cosy to hang out or enjoy a café, which you can get 24/7. The rooms are designed beautifully, with love to the details and give you all the space you need. And yes, it is close to a more busy street, but at night everything is quiet and you can sleep with the windows open.

Here is what we LOVED about this property: The service was outstanding! Vanessa was super friendly and helpful. When we had to leave before breakfast, she made us a picnic to take with us the next morning. The room was super comfortable and the air conditioning worked well and was silent! The breakfast was also just amazing as was the breakfast space! There was a wide variety of breakfast - lunch type foods on offer buffet style. You could eat on the terrace or indoors. The whole vibe of the place was super relaxed and charming. If you wanted to use the kitchen/dining area to prepare your evening meal, you could do that!

One thing that we did not like was the lack of available parking. It was on-street parking only (but we knew that when we made the reservation). During the day, it was easier than in the evening to find a space. They have another property close-by which I believe has ample parking so we might consider that next time. The other thing that was not great was the rather small shower. These two complaints are minor compared to the pluses for this property.
