I want to commend whoever decided on the design of the double rooms in this motel. It makes two smaller rooms totally separated from each other by the walls of the bathroom placed in between and a door, so the guests can enjoy more privacy during their stay. The window facing the waterfront adds a nice touch as well.

It gets a bit loud as the cars pass the motel, and the air-conditioning system is pretty loud while working. But other than that there's nothing to fault about this place. If the room was available to be booked for three days in a row, we would probably do that. Unfortunately, it showed unavailable and we booked elsewhere for the following day only to learn that it became available again later that day. I don't know if that was a booking glitch or someone canceled last minute, but if you plan your stay in the vicinity of Nanaimo, you should consider booking this place.

The location was good, the room was clean and spacious.. staff were nice and accommodating..

Would be great if they have complimentary water available to guests. Arrived at 22:00 and there was no water available in the room or even in the office.. we were told to buy at the nearest gas station but was already closed.. good thing there's DQ across from this motel, and they had water there (from dispenser).

Best motel I have ever stayed at IN MY LIFE. It was ... oh my god.. it was a DELIGHT. It was exquisite. Spacious. Well equipped. Curtains were beautiful, so shiny like gold. The bed was comfy. Loved having those pots and pans. Sexy. Two tvs. Across from DQ. Loved Nanaimo Rogers TV. Loved the shower. Great view. I would stay there again and again and again. I could live there, it's like an apartment. God Bless THE DIPLOMAT!!!!

There were no negatives only positives.

The shower instead of the tub shower was great & it's clean. Staff supplied a tea kettle & tea bags for the evening- very helpful regarding safe storage of bicycles in a locked area. Beds were really comfortable & although it's on the highway route, it was surprisingly quiet 95% of the night!

All main floor rooms were occupied so lugging luggage upstairs is a pain in the keester when your "elderly" - book early lol .

The place was clean, the beds were comfy, and the value was excellent. There was a range of dove products to use in the shower and 2 bags of organic coffee for the coffee pot in the room. We got 2 queen beds for $121 all in. That's pretty unheard of. It's not fancy or anything, but I wasn't expecting fancy for the price. It was absolutely adequate. Also, I could see the ocean from our window.

Great location to see sunrise and walk your dog! Easy to find from the ferry, place is clean, full of amenities and the beds were really comfy.

Property is a bit dated, but it fitted our needs perfectly. A bit warm overnight due to no air con/fans, but excellent fly screens to allow some fresh air in :-D

The rooms were fairly clean and spacious. The kitchen contained pots, pans, chopping board and cutlery, everything that I needed for my stay. The bed was very comfortable. I loved how close everything was from the motel, less than 10 minute drive. The staff was very welcoming and friendly.

Wi-Fi was quite weak one of the days and had to resort to my phones hotspot. However the following day Wi-Fi was much stronger.

Economical stay overnight. Clean and comfortable enough.

There is quite heavy traffic nearby, the neighborhood is not very pleasant. The hot water in the shower wasn't hot at all. We arrived freezing after a hike around a frozen lake and not being able to warm was very disappointing. The room wasn't warm enough either.

Staff were very friendly. Jack was very accomodating and helpful when we arrived. Location on the street and close proximity to fast food etc excellent. Location close to Duke Point ferry terminal excellent.

Loud motorcycles on the main street.....but that requires city enforcement by police services.
