Traveling as a family of four (2 adults 2 kids 9&10) we were thankful for the family room which was HUGE... The biggest room on our whole two week trip around Norway! Breakfast was very good and seemed to be the standard Scandic brand breakfast after staying at several. The hotel felt a little dated but if you look up it's history there's a lot there and I'm glad they kept some of that history there. There is some renovation work being done currently. Also I appreciated the EV chargers on site! It was a nice little 10 minute walk over to the Olympic village on a nice path with my kids. Would recommend for an overnight or several nights!

Some of the room felt a little dated but it was clean.

very large old fashioned hotel with great surroundings and everything you may need, rooms are large enough, it is warm enough, there is well equipped gym, a swimming pool and a sauna, very easy to get to the cross country tracks all around the hotel, close to the city center and the train station, you can walk all around

maybe it needs a bit of update, refurbishment, but most probably it will loose some of its charm

We have had a lovely Romjul time in Scandic Lillehammer Hotel. The weather was good, we went for skiing, enjoyed swimming pool in the morning and nice restaurants in Lillehammer center in the evening. We also did enjoy all these coffee time snacks available in the lobby of the hotel as well as delicious and abundant breakfasts. Reception's employees always smiling, always helpful. The hotel was very spacious and there was always some nice, cozy place available to have a coffee or drink with friends we spend this time with in Lillehammer. I also need to mention very spacious and free parking area by the hotel available for our car we came by.

Do mind the hotel is placed nearly on a top of the hill which means climbing each time you go be feet to the city center :) We didn't mind it, but sometimes it was a bit challenging. We treated it as a part of our physical activity though. During our whole stay (6 night all together) our room was cleaned only twice - we don't know the reason why. However if we needed fresh towels they were available at the reception anytime.

I was traveling with a four year old, so from that perspective I can say the following: By the reception there’s a playroom for 0-4 year olds (with two comfy chairs for the adults!) which was highly appreciated. There was also an activity room a few floors down for older kids (ping pong table etc). The indoor pool was great! The spa had a quiet section that was separate from the pool, I really liked this as it made me comfortable bringing my kid to the pool without being a nuisance to others. Great breakfast for both kids and adults! The restaurant also had a decent kids menu for dinner. Great outdoor area to let your kids run around (also with mini golf). Really nice and helpful staff.

It would have been helpful with a bit more written information (like are there pool towels or do I need to bring my own from my room?) and clearer signs (like how do I access the outside pool?) but these are minor details in an overall great experience.

Reception staff were excellent and went above normal duties to help with difficulties we had unrelated to our stay. Lucy was particularly helpful and should be commended for her friendliness, expertise and communication skills. The breakfast was outstanding. The hotel and it’s grounds were beautiful.

We were very impressed with the spa facilities but encountered problems when using the outdoor thermal pools. A group of young men gained access through the broken security gate or jumped over the barriers and entered the pools. When we politely asked them to leave they were abusive and swore at us. Several times we alerted the staff In reception but, despite being spoken with, the young men returned. Because the telephone was not working in the spa we had to go to reception in our gowns. We appreciate the hotel’s generosity in allowing local youngsters access to the outdoor pool but feel, as did our fellow guests, that access should be monitored as there were times we were deterred from using the facility because of the behaviour of the groups of young people there.

We love the amenities of the hotel, their indoor and outdoor pools, the gym, the accessible bar & restaurant in the hotel and the kids room that is open until 9pm. The breakfast buffet was appetizing & there are lots of options. The staff in the restaurant were accomodating.

No aircondition.. & Unlike the staff in Scandic Hafjell, Scandic Lillehammer staff at the reception were unwelcoming. When inquiring about where the breakfast buffet will be located, the staff assigned were laughing, what was funny about the question? if they are working in behalf of the regular staff for summer, they need to be adequately trained. The hotel cards were not working on the second day which was weird, and even if I paid for extension hours on the last day, the housekeeper knocked on our door for checked out, when i explained that we paid until 4pm she said she wasn’t informed. Miscommunication perhaps? This needs modification or address the problem to the staff assigned to avoid recurrence of the issue.

Nice choice at the breakfast buffet. The staff was friendly, especially housekeeping and restaurant staff. The location is fantastic. Christmas vibe in the main lobby (lovely decorations, gløgg and coffee available for guests). Comfortable beds and clean room.

Restaurant prices felt overpriced, especially the New Year's buffet. The room was outdated. Lack of Christmas decor in other places of the hotel except the main building.

We did like the hotel. It was spacious and full of guests but quite quiet while in our room. One was on a kind of hotel's outskirts but we didn't mind it. We had some extra walk each day going to and from breakfast :) We also enjoyed New Year Eve with some extra live music played on the scene and hotel fireworks at midnight. We haven't joined a special dinner organized by hotel but for interested it was available for additional fee. We had a great time though!

Convenient location & FABULOUS ( well-tended!) Buffet‼️😉

We didn’t know there was a Sport’s Room- so didn’t get to play PingPong!🙃 And down near the Sports Room there was a bad smell in the hallway, that had the stink of a sewer‼️😲 Also, the trash can in the parking lot, close to the front door was Not emptied out & some animal got into it & scattered garbage, near our car - that we had to clean up!🤨

Like all the free parking, even though it was impossible to find a charger as people had their cars connected all night long. So no time limit on chargers.

We moved our two single beds to make a big one and it revealed a lot of dirt underneath the bed, it was actually disgusting. But other than that it was clean and comfortable.
