The location is great. We got a parking on the ground level which was very fortunate. When we arrived after 4:00 pm, one of our rooms was not ready but hotel front desk and cleaning staff worked hard to make it ready so we could move in. Breakfast dining area is great with the view of the lake. Breakfast offers many choices.

The insulation of the rooms are not very good. When other passed by we could hear pretty much every word they were saying. Room temperature was centrally controlled at 23.5 degrees which could be a little lower.

The location of the hotel is second to none with stunning views over the lake to Isola san Giulio. We were in the annex Villa Gippini while our sons were in the hotel. The rooms in the hotel have been renovated and are uniformly grey which is not as attractive as the villa with its painted walls and ceilings. Both rooms had lake views which were fabulous. Ours was very spacious and though simple was very comfortable. The hotel is quaintly old fashioned in some respects but what sets it apart is the magnificent (and probably old fashioned) service. The staff cannot do enough. The restaurant is fabulous. We had two delicious lunches and an amazing dinner. The pool area is wonderful with views over the lake. We didn’t swim in the pool however as the silky water of the lake was more to our taste. We loved our stay. Orta San Giulio is a beautiful town. We would definitely return.

Great location! Terrific staff. The man at the front desk gave us a late checkout and was super obliging. Nice hotel. The room itself is done up, but is painted all brown and therefore could definitely use a painting - and a bigger TV. As other reviews have said it would be great to lose the shower curtain too. Breakfast was decent enough and it was very nice to look out at the lake in the breakfast room. Drinks on the terrace are lovely to do. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The staff are helpful and friendly. They offered us a free pickup from the station which was an added bonus! The trip over to the beach was also a lovely little extra!

It was difficult to control the AC in the room, so occasionally it got a little chilly! The lighting was a little dim- but was fine when the curtains were open.

Great location, and stunning setting with amazing view from the room. Breakfast had plenty of selection and the staff were all very friendly.

The room was quite small for the price, and disappointed that we couldn't control the in room temperature. It was high summer and the room was very hot, but temperature was controlled centrally so we couldn't make it cooler.

The hotel is stunning- from the outside it is a historical building but has been renovated with all the modern fittings and comforts. The room was clean and had an amazing view of the lake (the Hotel had upgraded us to a room with a view which was very appreciated and a lovely surprise) - top quality amenities from the linen to bathroom toiletries. The hotel is on the water (unfortunately we where there on a overcast winters day and so could not maximise the pool and all the outdoor facilities) but could see that it would be amazing in warmer weather. The breakfast spread was extensive and delicious- it catered for all dietary needs and the staff were attentive.

One small mishap was that we had arrange a pick up form the train station and had to phone them to remind them - but they remedied it fast by sending a transfer ASAP

Only issue we had was the AC was not working in the room we were allocated and the Hotel changed rooms for us whilst we were out at dinner. Unfortunately same problem happened and AC wasn’t working in the new room. Hotel staff promptly moved us to a room that had working AC

First two allocated rooms did not have working AC so had to move twice

Location is great and directly located in the village. Much appreciated parking View to the lake is wonderful Really like the comfort of the room and the breakfast Restaurant at the hotel is better than many restaurant in town. Price for quality is very good

Pool is great, but should have towels available at entrance and pool service for drinks.

Great location on the lake. Water was very clean and you could swim from beside the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. The local village was near by with plenty of restaurants. Boat trips to the island from the square. It is smaller and less busy than other lakes which we really liked. A great relaxing break. Their was a music evening with special food which was excellent, really enjoyable. Great location to also go to Lake Maggiore. We went to Stresa and the islands which were very beautiful especially Bella.

The pool walls were covered in fake tan and sun tan lotion which put me off swimming in it. We swam in the lake instead.

We knew already this hotel, we went back for its location just on the lake and the walking distance to the lovely village, the pool and the lake are both equally easy to access (we prefer swimming in the lake though!) and the parking in this location is certainly a plus!

The hotel is of considerable size and has a number of spaces that could be used for outdoor meals, but only lunch was planned outside during our stay. We have been told that sometime dinner is planned outside but when there is no wind (something we did not notice), a missed opportunity we believe.
