The place is just amazing clean near to the airport and most important the staff. The staff is just amazing and very helpful

We stayed here after our long flight to recover. The hotel is central to Negombo, was easy to find it by tuktuk. The personal is very friendly and welcoming, the room was very spacious, and basic amenities were there - like kettle, coffee, tea, hair dryer, toiletry and A/C. Room was very clean and the bed was okay to sleep on. Breakfast was delicious. The location is actually quiet nice, next to a little river, the only thing is that it can get a little louder early in the morning when boats pass by. We'd stay again if we should come to Negombo for sure.

For the price there is nothing really to complain about - great after a long flight to catch some breath.

Hive 68 in Negombo was a fantastic choice for our stay, offering a great start to our Sri Lanka adventure. A standout memory was the private boat ride on the lagoon, arranged by the hotel. Although a bit expensive, it was a serene and authentic glimpse into the local ecosystem and culture, making our trip feel all the more personal and memorable. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. They arranged for a driver and car to take us across Sri Lanka at a reasonable rate, a service we were so happy with that we ended up using it for three other separate trips on the island. The room was basic but had all the necessary amenities. The AC was also very welcome, as it can get hot without AC.

The bed was a little small, but it was still comfortable. The price of the boattrip was not mentioned beforehand, initially I thought it was provided for free by the hotel. We paid more for the 2h boat trip than for the stay in the hotel.

The day we checked in, the duty manager. Malaka welcomed us with a cold drink and informed us that though we were two hours early for the check-in, he will get the room sorted out as quickly as possible. We got in to the room within 20mts. The bellboy took our luggage to the room promptly and showed us the facilities in the room. Daily Malaka would greet us when we whet for breakfast and inquired if all was well and if anything else needs done. The entire staff in the hotel, especially the restaurant staff were extremely efficient and friendly and offered us what we asked for very efficiently. Malaka and the other manager was very helpful in sorting out "Pick Me" cabs for our trips and also the cab on the day we vacated to go to the airport. Extremely satisfied with the service at the Hotel and all the staff as they all went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant. I recommend this hotel for anyone intending to stay in Negombo. Well done to all the staff.

I cannot fault anything as we were very pleased with the hotel and the entire staff.

Breakfast was included and they served it near the canal. Both breakfast and the place were very nice. The staff were polite and pleasant especially the owner. The room was good. The sheets and towels were clean. The balcony was a nice place to relax at night. Overall a very good stay. We were able to watch the champions league final without any trouble, which is the highlight of the stay.

Not a deal breaker but some of the amenities they have mentioned were not available. Like slippers, coffee machine and alarm clock. Bath room comad was not properly cleaned. Hope they will improve those.

Room is spacious, clean, bed was comfortable and air con in room was great. Staff always on hand to make things more enjoyable, weather wasnt great but obviously that isnt the hotels fault. Would definitely stay again. The photo's of the canal view are a bit misleading which is the only reason for marking down the score. The area looks a bit more worn down than what the photo's perceive.

As mentioned above, the photo's looking onto the canal look incredible and when I got there it wasnt as nice looking out. Hotel itself was exactly as described and pictures tho.

Very accommodating. Gave us early check-in at no extra cost as the requested room on a higher floor was available, when we came about 4 hours before check-in time. When there was an issue with the TV, they came and fixed it immediately.

Needing the key to lock and open the Door from Inside. Also, the full address needs to be given in the confirmation prominently, rather than just within directions. Tuk Tuk pretended not to know the hotel and took us on a wrong road Should advise those who come by public transport to call an Uber or PickMe

Well run hotel with helpful staff. Liked that balcony had seating and you could watch life and activity on the canal below. Bottled water provided in room. Attractive on-site restaurant with canal views and reasonable prices. Good quality food....had the most tender and best cooked steak, I have ever eaten! Felt safe as lone female traveller. Took their lagoon trip. Told 12,000 before I arrived, but 10,000 when asked at desk. Convenient as boat is moored outside. Arranged an airport taxi for 3,000. Convenient for airport.

Staff were good & polite & helpful. Room was ok for the price. Shower ok & some toiletries were given. We asked for an extra blanket and the staff member brought it up immediately. Breakfast was ok. Not a huge choice but just enough. Ok for 1 night

Balcony was small & overlooking a lake but view wasn’t very good and there was a smell coming from lake so couldn’t sit outside for long. Kettle & tea making facilities in room but no socket for kettle so it had to be plugged in next to the bed. Not much space to put anything on, or chairs or anything to sit on

Functional little hotel, clean sheets and room, decent Wifi and air-conditioning unit for the main space in the room. Good reception service and restaurant right next door if you want room service. Staff were kind enough to bring our bags up to the room and show us around the room including how to make sure the hot water ran normally in the shower.

Not a 3 star hotel, we had booked canal view but it was almost impossible to see the canal from our window/balcony. There was a gap in the balcony door and a vent that couldn't close in the bathroom making it higher risks for mosquitos to come into the room and it made it difficult to keep the aircon at a manageable level. And one of the towels had a massive hole in it. There was no bedside table on one side and the TV barely worked. Needs a bit of an update I think.
