The staff was so kind and so patient with us even though we did not speak Japanese. The spa and the breakfast were great in addition to the free snacks and drinks each night. The room itself was so much larger than the pictures made it seem and the private onsen in the room was perfect. The hotel was beautiful and so peaceful. This place was curated with ultimate relaxation in mind. We never wanted to leave the room and wished we booked for more than 3 nights. We stayed here in between our week long trips to Tokyo and Kyoto, and this hotel was our favorite part of our entire Japan trip. We are recommending this hotel to everyone we know who is planning a trip to Japan.

The room was comfortable, and the hot spring tub with a view of the town and mountains was fantastic! The countless amenities, including everything from lotions, face masks, and socks to apple juice, chocolate milk, hot chocolate, beer, coffee, tea, ice cream, snacks, and late-night ramen were an absolute treat. The public and private onsen were lovely. We especially enjoyed sitting in the outdoor onsen while it snowed. The yubatake and shops in town are a short walk downhill. A shuttle is available if the walk is a challenge. We had a wonderful time and would recommend La Vista Kusatsu Hills without reservation!

Atmosphere and staff were excellent. The private onsen and shuttle bus into town was very nice. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Just stay away from the overpriced dinner. If the food was better, it would have been a A+ experience. (the nighttime free roman was a great idea)

The dinner. For the price was honestly horrible. Basically, it was Leftovers from the breakfast buffet. The duck and prime rib were not very good. They also only severed one small bottle of water for two of us that we pored ourselves (a nice restaurant the server would pour the drinks). We had to ask for a second bottle and eventually we just got up and got our own bottle of water. - The bed is a bit hard, this made it a bit difficult to sleep but the room was nice

Wonderful onsen on the top floor overlooking the city. My son and I were the only ones there as the sun set.

The chairs in the dining room were too small for all three of us. I am 5’11”. My son is 6’. My daughter is 5’8”. We are normal size Americans. The chairs were too narrow and hurt throughout dinner. The dinner service was good and the food was good; if they could change the chairs to fit more body types without hurting that would make dining kore excellent. Also, it was difficult to know when we could wear humans and hotel clothes that were in our closet and the rules for slippers. I asked the front desk many questions and they helped a lot, but I would recommend putting instructions in the room with the rules for where yukata, pajamas, and slippers can be worn.

Words cannot fully describe how amazing the stay was. The room was absolutely amazing and spacious, the view from the balcony and private onsen was breathtaking, the staff were so friendly, kind and attentive, the meals were soooo delicious and beautifully presented. This truly felt like a living dream. I hope to comeback again! This experience was magical and well worth it. 1000% awesome and relaxing!

100% best part of my stay was the view. very beautiful, even while relaxing in the onsen. room itself was comfortable and larger than expected. public hotel facilities were nice but limited (just the one top floor with a cafeteria/lounge and onsen). along with the public onsen there are four private onsen (no reservation required; you can just walk in and lock the door behind you). everything is clean and tidy. free food and snacks cycled in and out at the lounge. staff were very welcoming and accomodating. lovely food. i stayed two days in a row so was worried i might get the same menu, but the dinner menu was changed and i was provided an extra breakfast plate for my second breakfast to go with the standard buffet :) i read that it's not walkable, but the walk was rather nice, about ~8 minutes uphill walk from the bus terminal even with snow on the road. there is also a regular shuttle going both to the bus terminal and yubatake.

there were strange noises in my room at night time, so i had some trouble sleeping. i was worried the hotel might be haunted, but it seems to be quite new so probably not 🤭 other than that, nothing comes to mind

Environment is nice, bed is comfortable, and the basil biscuit really good. All staffs are nice. It should be a good experience to me

Unfortunately I think some message missed after the booking. It will be best as if someone can remind there is a shuttle bus service towards hotel. I think there is a description in hotels home page, but not in booking.com. I think a notification of shuttle bus schedule, after booking will be better. And it will be better if there is some cup noodle in hotel rather than buy them before arrive hotel. (Either there is a night ramen service, but not enough to me :) )

Both the hotel and the room were absolutely beautiful. All facilities were clean and the onsen was really great as-well. The hotel is a short walk from the centre so it’s easy to look around. Definitely recommend!

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was just okay, nothing exceptional.

Massive fancy room with comfy beds, silent AC, balcony with nice view and m'fin' personal outdoor bath. Also the only place on my trip with proper quality TP that won't disintegrate if you as much as sweat near it. Breakfast was pretty good, personnel very helpful. Free ice cream and stuff.

The location kinda sucks - it's fairly away from the center *and* on a hill, so you're somewhat dependent on the hotel shuttle bus service.

La Vista was perfect with the lovely view of Kosatsu, the beautiful room and private onsen, as well as the various amenities. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. I have no complaints and we’ll be recommending La Vista to your friends and family.
