We stayed at the hotel for just one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived late and weren’t sure if we would be able to get dinner. Fortunately, the receptionist kindly recommended the hotel’s restaurant, and even though it was close to closing time, they still welcomed us. We were truly grateful for their hospitality — the food was delicious, and they even offered us a complimentary plate of fresh fruit! The room was very spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated the slippers available for guests. As for the location, the hotel is situated within the walls of the Berat Castle, making it convenient for exploring the area. Breakfast was also good — tasty and complete, with a nice variety of options.

Brilliant location, unique hotel and lovely upstairs balcony area for anyone to use with nice views at sunset (especially with a glass of local wine or beer from bar downstairs). Breakfast was excellent and loved the little touches, like the excavated area shown under glass in the dining room. Parking was available directly outside (but was busy- we were lucky to secure a spot) and was a great location to explore the old city. Twin beds set up on request and good water pressure in shower. Friendly staff. Straightforward but steep walk down to the town below to see the windows where there were some great restaurants. Would recommend to others coming to Albania.

The hotel is within the castle walls. It has a beautiful garden and the hotel restaurant serves good value tasty food. The hotel staff are amazing. They helped me wash my off road motorcycle gear and even dried them in their drying machine for me. Overall a very pleasant stay. We parked our Motorcycles next to the hotel but not within the hotel grounds the bikes were visible from the hotel terrace. They were safe enough even though I would’ve liked it more if we could bring the Motorcycles onto the hotel grounds.

We were staying in an attic room. I kept on banging my head against the ceiling because it was somewhat low.

What a wonderful welcome and super stay. The room was huge, we loved the exposed stone and the wooden ceilings. The shower room in comparison was very modern and equipped with toiletries and fluffy white towels. We ate here 2 nights in a row and the owners were so kind, helping us chose traditional food and giving recommendations. The food was absolutely wonderful, such huge portions we couldnt finish it all. The breakfast was also excellent. Having parking on site was a bonus for Berat and being right in the walls of the castle it was a lovely (uphill) stroll the following morning to tour.

Gorgeous historic hotel in the Berat castle complex. It’s very quiet and peaceful at night time. Also, there are breathtaking views of the city from the grounds surrounding the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast room is built over some old castle ruins (there are windows in the floor where you can see some of the objects that were excavated). Basically, it feels like you are living in a museum. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I return to Berat!

Some people might complain about the long, vertical walk from the city center. However, I really liked getting some exercise after dinner (before going to sleep), so this was no problem for me!

Best location ever - the hotel is located directly on top of Berat IN the castle's area. We had to drive through the castle gate at the very top of Berat where the hotel is located - this location is for sure unique. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice - an ancient room like in a castle. The area is very lively, with a lot of restaurants and little shops - quite crowded, but good local food. We enjoyed being in the castle area in the night and take pictures. The breakfast in the hotel was simply but good - you could eat indoor or outdoor. All of the castle area - churches, mosques, ancient walls - we could do in walking distance. We can absolutely recommend this great hotel!

This is one of the best places we have stayed. Being able to see the castle around in the evening once we left the room was very spectacular. Staff was very welcoming. The room itself was very beautiful, clean to the highest standards and the bed was very comfy. We had to leave early in the morning and we were offered to get a breakfast packed for next day which was extremely helpful and saved us time to look for place to eat on our way. The restaurant had interesting interior, food was at good prices and it was delicious. We will be definitely coming back once we will visit Berat again. Thank you for amazing stay.

This hotel was absolutely superb in every way. The staff were the kindest people who provide excellent customer service. We felt there was nothing they wouldn’t do to make our stay more enjoyable. The location right at the entrance to the castle was extremely convenient for our arrival and made it so easy to explore all of the little streets and lanes inside the castle complex. Our room could not have been more lovely and authentically Albanian. We also very much enjoyed the delicious and varied breakfast provided each morning. We highly recommend staying at this hotel.

There is absolutely nothing needed for improvement. This hotel was just great!

The property is situated in a beautiful location in Berat castle as long as you don’t mind hiking up the big hill when returning from town - there are lots of taxis that can get you up and down for a small fee. When we arrived there was a little confusion with our room but the staff handled it swiftly and efficiently. The rooms are clean and comfortable with great air conditioning. The staff were very kind and friendly - they were very helpful and gave us great recommendations for things to do and see.

We travelled with a group of 4 in December and had a memorable experience. Every single member of staff is attentive, extremely welcoming and super friendly. The rooms are very clean and exceptionally decorated and the whole place which is inside the castle walls is just beautiful and offer breath-taking views of the surroundings. Rooms have all the comforts and good size with shower/toilet, include air conditioning/heating depending on the weather, TV, toiletries, towels and are and cleaned every day. As mentioned before the staff is very friendly and helpful and gave us a lot of tips of what to do and see. They arranged a walking tour of Berat from Castle to the main city with a local expert and it was an excellent experience to learn the culture and history of this beautiful culture rich place . From the Castle location where this hotel is located to the main city of Berat by the Osum river is about 20-30 mins walk (depending of your fitness). The walk is quite steep but it offers a beautiful view of the town. We managed the walk a couple of times a day but if you prefer the local taxis will take you there for few euros for a less than 10 mins drive. Breakfast is extremely generous and delicious with lots of local products including cakes, savoury products, eggs and a fantastic coffee. We would always leave the table very full having tried all of their delicious offering. you can also have meals at the Hotels in their restaurant and have some wonderful prepared local food and wine and Albanian Raki :) , or you can try few other restaurants offering delicious food, located few minutes away from the hotel. I highly recommend this location and would definitely go back again. The people in this place makes it for a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
