I had a conference to go to at Mohegan Sun. I decided to go last minute and the group rate was no longer available. When they quoted me over $300 not including taxes and fees, it was an easy decision to look elsewhere. I began looking for a property close to the casino. Microtel was one of the property names that came up. I looked over several choices and decided Microtel was worth investigating. As I looked through their choice of rooms, I was surprised that the room I was planning on taking, which contained a safe, refrigerator, microwave, little kitchen area with a sink, queen bed, iron and ironing board, and plenty of floor space, was as low a price as it was. I booked the room online right then. After I booked the room online, I called the hotel just to confirm that everything went through correctly. It did. And in conversation with whomever I was talking with, I realized my room had accessibility features, which are tailored to a potentially handicapped person. I didn't want to take up that room if I could get a different one, just in case someone who needed that type of room could not find one elsewhere. And it was surprisingly easy and pleasant to make that switch. I got the same kind of room with all the same amenities and the same price and all I had to do was ask. Super easy and pleasant. The next day, I arrived, already pre-booked. All I had to do was grab the key at the front desk. There was a young lady there by the name of Victoria who was super friendly. She spent time with me giving me suggestions when I asked for restaurant referrals. It was just a really easy conversation and very friendly. When I got upstairs to the room, everything was really clean, neat, nothing damaged, no negative surprises, everything the way someone hopes their hotel room would be when they first walk in. Really, I have no complaints at all. A very good price for excellent quality, service and attitude.

The hotel fulfilled the need. It would have been nice if breakfast went later and it would be better if it had a better designated area outside the front desk area. It was a little weird. Also needs a gym as there is no where to jog or walk or exercise outside the hotel without driving. For the price it was a good value. Elevator was slow and only one elevator. Overall it was a good stay. Front desk was nice, they were always cleaning everywhere, all the time. Just be nice if a bit more lobby space

No gym and they could step up the quality of breakfast or not do it at all. Breakfast area is bit weird and crowed in the front lobby.

The hotel exterior is welcoming. We had a room with two queen beds. The beds were separated by a small kitchen island. This set-up worked well for our family. We liked the small counter with two chairs for eating. LOVED the window seat. The room was very clean. We liked that the rooms in the back of the building overlook trees which makes it very quiet and a pleasant view when sitting on the window seat. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast, but the area was clean and well appointed. Great location.

We could not find a handicap entrance button. While it was not a problem for us, it could be for other guests. If the button exists, it needs to be more visible. While the mattress was comfortable, the pillows were not. We found them to be very hard and too high.

Room was lovely, comfortable, and clean. Very easy and convenient to drive by car (5 minutes) to Mohegan Sun. Quiet, with a very helpful staff.

There was no shuttle service to Mohegan Sun on Sunday 6/16, where there was a John Fogerty concert going on. You should have service no matter what night the concert is on, not just Friday and Saturday. That was very disappointing. You should have bedside lamps on the nightstands for people that like to read before bedtime. The overhead lighting is wayyyyyy to bright to read by and cannot be dimmed - also inconvenient to shut off without getting out of bed. Minor problem - you could have more soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Good thing we carried our own with us.

Excellent value, just the place for sleep and shower while visiting the casino, not a long-term stay place. Smallish basic room (“Microtel”), clean, neat, well appointed. No fridge, no coffee maker – to be expected at this price point, although coffee/tea (pretty good too) available 24 hrs. Helpful, courteous, competent staff. Breakfast is basic but good – muffins, cereal, juice, hard boiled eggs etc. (you are warned not to put the eggs in the micro wave); pancake machine is fun-wave your hand in front of it and a freshly made pancake pops out. Not the place for trays of scrambled eggs and sausage/ham, waffles.

Shuttle on the weekend only, at least this time of year.

Great location. Perfect for visiting Mohican sun. Compact room was perfect for our needs. Staff in am and pm delightful. Have basic breakfast bar to get you going and McDonald's across street. Passed a drug store and gas station. Good sleeping. Coffee/ hot water available 24/7.

Mechanical... The heat unit was producing heat on one side and cool air on left. Minor inconvenience. I'm usually cold..... Should have brought a blanket for sleeping. That's on me.

Before Mohegan and Foxwoods motels Microtel was the place we set up and booked rooms for fan club concert stays. I have very fond memories of those times and wanted a chance to revisit.

I love having coffee available in the room, but the clean facility with no frills worked and I could see groups of people here enjoying themselves when I know they would not have been able to with luxury hotels.

Daytime staff were fantastic. Room was large and comfortable.

My only gripe is that while this hotel is non-smoking, when it first opened it did allow smoking. Our room definitely still bears the remnants of people who had a real passion for cigarettes. As someone who has three close relative pass away from the effects of smoking, this was a bit upsetting.

Room was clean, included fridge, sink, microwave. Good water pressure and temperature in shower. Breakfast was basic fare - muffins, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, pancakes, etc., but it was refilled and restocked up until the posted end time. Bed was firm, but very comfortable. Room was quiet at night.

Ground floor, view was of parking lot, window could have used shades, only heavy curtain was on window, which totally blocked light. Ask for refund of $1.50 charge on safe if you do not use the room safe.

Great value. Extremely clean room. Friendly staff. Great location near Mohegan Sun Casino. We will stay again in the future. Easy access to highway.

All went well, nice room, clean friendly staff. The only thing that could have been better was the accommodations in the breakfast area. There is not enough seating. We ended up having to bring our breakfast back to our room because of the minimal seating area.
