I always stay at the Taber when I’m visiting Mystic. Great location and friendliest staff, ever! The morning cup of coffee, muffin, and fresh fruit are a great (and healthy!) start to each day. Comfortable rooms that are very clean. If you’re traveling by train, it’s just a 10 minute walk to the Mystic Depot.

The AC from the room above me dripped on to the top of the AC for my room. It splattered on the outside deck and furniture, and which made it difficult to sit outside. I moved the chairs around, but then it felt like I was encroaching on neighboring rooms’ area of the deck and I was invading their privacy. Also, the water build-up from the dripping AC above seemed to cause excessive mildew in my unit that blew a really bad smell into my room. The staff were wonderful in resolving the issue (thank you!). This was the only drawback. This is my fourth time staying at the Taber Inn and the first time with a significant issue. Again, the staff were phenomenal with their response! I will happily stay at the Taber again, but perhaps in a different room! :)

The complimentary breakfast was lovely and a pleasant surprise.

Everything and everyone was more than perfect but if I had to say one thing I would improve, it would be a bar in the shower. There was one outside the shower on the wall but not in the shower. There may have been one in other rooms. My advice would be if you need a bar, ask for a room with one. Other than this small observation, The Taber Inn was the absolute best place I have stayed mostly because of the welcoming staff and sparkling clean room. We will definitely be returning to The Taber Inn in the very near future. So many things to do within a few miles of the inn. You know what they say in real estate…Location,Location,Location!!!

This place is amazing. The owners and staff are so friendly, full of suggestions on places to visit and dine and they clearly love Mystic and everything it has to offer. Nothing is too much trouble It is a level easy walk into the historic bridge and main shopping/dining area. The rooms are spacious with a small outside sitting area, a small breakfast of fruit, muffin and coffee is included and delivered to your room. There is also a wonderful indoor swimming pool. Across the road is mystic market deli which sells great takeaway food including a big selection of salads and amazing cakes.

room was nice and plenty of room to move around. staff was awesome. grounds well kept. close to a really awesome coffee shop across the the street. near by to a small beach and of course all the mystic tourist stuff. might go back in the cooler weather as they have fireplace in the room. continental breakfast was nice,

a mini fridge ,microwave would have been nice, for some reason the room always felt humid even after running the AC all the time . Wanted to use the indoor pool but the chlorine was so strong we couldn't breath . coffee was awful though coffee grounds in the cup .

We loved that the Taber Inn was so quaint and close to downtown Mystic. The grounds were charming and quintessential New England.Staff brought breakfast to our room,(fruit, muffin/pastry, and coffee/tea) and our concierge, Joe, was absolutely amazing. He greeted us so warmly and happily, like we were family. When we arrived he was with new arrivals ,giving them 100 percent of his enthusiastic attention, and telling us he'd be right with us. When it was our turn, he immediately pulled out a map and showed us where everything was and answered all of our questions. He walked us to our room as well. We drove into Mystic, parked in a public lot and enjoyed a beautiful day, shopping, eating lunch at Mystic Pizza(one of my favorite movies) and listening to a band by the water. Perfect! We didn't get to do everything we wanted so we booked another night! I would definitely stay here again. If you're looking for an updated, modern glam type of lodging, then this might not be the place for you, but if you want to enjoy a cozy, comfortable place with lots of ambiance and a great location (our king room had a little patio and fireplace) then the Taber Inn definitely fits the bill and I highly recommend it. There is on-site parking and an indoor pool as well.

It would've been nice to have a small fridge but it was more of a minor inconvenience than anything else.

The room was cozy, not huge but comfortable. The bed was very comfortable - loved the mattress! I also loved the Colonial-style furnishings. Kind of plain but nice touches, emphasizing the history of the area. Friendly owner on duty in the evening, who really tried hard to find a place for me to eat (almost everything around closes at 9 PM). The continental breakfast - fruit & muffin, and coffee for those who drink it - was a nice surprise in the morning. Quiet and peaceful, despite being in town.

Not much! Parking can be interesting, but I can't complain, as I did have a parking space. Blinds in bathroom can be hidden behind the valance - found it after I asked.

We enjoyed staying at the Taber Inn. The location is in walking distance to the Mystic Seaport and just a quick drive to the Mystic Aquarium. The place has wonderful staff. We had one of the simple rooms by the office. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of towels and wash clothes. We loved that we could go swimming in the pool during the morning hours and then shower and get ready for the day in the dressing room in the pool area.

Just a small thing, the pool had long pieces of hair in it in the deep end. I wish it had filtered out but didn’t in the 2 days we were there. Note: I did not report this, figuring it will probably work its way to the filter.

The room was very nice and comfortable. We didn't have a fridge or microwave but I think some of the other rooms might-we weren't expecting that, we knew what was included in the room. The staff was excellent. Joe greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our room. He even took the time to explain everything about the Inn and made sure we had everything we needed. He gave us a map and pointed out different places we might be interested in seeing. He was a wealth of knowledge. Later that evening we used the heated pool which was wonderful-we were the only ones that and it was large. It is the largest indoor pool in Mystic. The location was fabulous, close to so many things we were interested in visiting. The following morning you just had to call or text when you were ready for your breakfast and they brought it right to the room. You had the choice of coffee or juice, a pastry and fruit. It was perfect for our needs. We will definitely be staying there again in the future. Mystic, CT is the cutest little town and of course we ate at Mystic Pizza. We ate there a couple years ago and the pizza is delicious!

Everything was perfect for us!

A Hidden Gem – Exceeded All Expectations! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Taber Inn! The online pictures simply don’t do it justice—this place is a true hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like personal guests in someone’s home. The front desk staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about our stay. The accommodations were beyond impressive. Our room was spotless, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable—on par with what you’d find in a luxury hotel. Every detail, from the cozy ambiance to the pristine cleanliness, made our stay truly relaxing. One of the highlights was the morning service—fresh pastries and coffee delivered right to our room. It was such a thoughtful touch that made waking up here even more special. And the indoor pool? Absolutely perfect! It was large, warm, and immaculately maintained, making it the perfect place to unwind. I would stay here over and over again without hesitation. If you’re looking for a charming, comfortable, and truly welcoming stay, Taber Inn is the place to be!
