Everything. I have stayed at the Leewood twice over the past 4 years and always found the rooms very comfortable, clean, warm, quiet. Staff all extremely polite, friendly & helpful. Location perfect as we attended a jazz concert at the Opera House. I took my good friend who had not been to Buxton & she was very impressed with the hotel, food & service.
There wasn't anything Not to Like about the Leewood 😄

The room was quiet, it was clean and there were at least 20 power sockets The bed was really comfortable! There were plenty of options for breakfast and staff were very attentive in meeting requests The restaurant food was excellent with plenty of choice Liked having the option to charge EV
The room we had was in the annex, which although quiet, had a slight 'musty' smell. Parking was a little difficult as many of the spaces are short or difficult to manouevre. They are scattered around the site and accessing them was tricky when there were loads of cars already there.

We stayed for one night during the annual Gilbert & Sullivan Festival. It was lovely to be so close to the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens but with space to park and the added local ambience of the cricket pitch and bowling green. The room was large and comfortable with one of the best beds we've ever slept in. The bathroom was spacious with high quality fittings, a wonderful shower and a lovely big window. We very much enjoyed our breakfast in the morning. The conservatory is well spaced out and the food was excellent. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming too.
Nothing, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

We were greeted by a lovely man on reception who, before even asking, I think guessed that we had had a horrendous journey. So when he saw that we were in the Annex, said that he thought he could do better than that, so put us in a lovely room in the main hotel. The staff in the restaurant were equally as helpful and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, As the journey had taken double what it should have, we decided to leave at 6am the next morning to avoid the same thing happening on our homeward journey. So we didn't get to have breakfast or discover the area.
There was nothing that we would change.

The hotel was really lovely and great location, just a 5 mins walk from the centre. The staff were lovely, especially the waitress for breakfast and im sorry I don't know her name!..she was really friendly and couldn't do enough and was really attentive. If anything and im being little harsh here, is that the en suite was a little tired, the shower screen needed cleaning properly!..but that's just me!. That said, I would definitely stay here again.
I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

The team at this hotel are exceptional and know how to deliver on hospitality. The hotel itself is a lovely building with character and in a garden setting. The restaurant is superb. Breakfast is healthy, robust, and well managed. Dinner is delivered through a well curated menu and wine list; everything fresh, flavourful and plentiful. The gym is well set out, equipment maintained well, clean, and with all appropriate sanitisation practices. A full bar and lounge provides a relaxed setting for a pre dinner drink, with excellent wifi, a comfortable setting to catch up on emails or work tasks. The hotel is a pleasant walk to shops, opera house, botanical gardens and art gallery ... along with a host of other activities. Driving from the hotel is simple, easily traversing the town centre via ring roads. Parking is very good and included in the rate. I appreciated the view from my room, and the consistently good housekeeping. All up, I come back to the people. To them a guest is a welcome relationship. They work hard to ensure they meet your needs, in a way that is personalised.
I enjoyed this hotel, there was nothing I didn't like and any minor maintenance issues are already identified and being scheduled or actively managed by the team.

Nice, cozy room, breakfast was delicious, table service and a buffet style; staff at breakfast were fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Overall, lovely hotel with a touch of a history, beautiful surroundings and quiet area. Lady at the reception during check-out was lovely.
It's an old building and some rooms are single gazed, which makes horrible condensation on the windows. The room and the bathroom were clean, however, floor in the bathroom was not brushed/mopped properly ( found some hairs ). When reported this to the reception and asked to send someone to clean, nothing was done. The girl at the reception during check-in was not friendly, nor attentive, did not provide any information; I had to remind her I must pay for the stay; I had to ask where the breakfast is served; she did not seem interested in sending anyone to clean the floor in the bathroom when mentioned to her. Overall, did not feel welcome on my arrival.

Our room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent, both the dinner and also the breakfast on the following morning. The experience was enhanced by the atmosphere in the restaurant - it is a lovely, spacious and bright room with good views, and outside seating for a drink on a warm evening. Most of all I would comment the staff, all of whom (the restaurant sfaff and those we met at reception) were most pleasant and helpful Our thanks to them all.
The only adverse comment I would make is that we were located in a room at the back of the hotel, so facing the road and above an area where there was some activity (bin collection?) early in the morning, so we were awoken at about 6.00am by dustbin noised from below. This is perhaps an unfair criticism because we stayed on a particularly warm night so had the 2 bedroom windows wide open overnight - the noise was much reduced when we closed the windows and in any case this did not detract from our overall very good experience.

It is an old fashioned hotel, so don't expect much to be modern. But it's cosy, clean and the food was exceptional. Bathroom in my room was brand new, so they've upgraded the essential stuff. You can see they're also re-decorating so they're trying to improve it. Staff were exceptionally friendly. In the heart of the Peak District so great location.
Bed was a bit too soft for my liking, but that's a preference issue. Room was small, but I don't mind that. Shower was low pressure. It's also quite costly so not the best value for money.
