This is a larger, quirkily decorated hostel. On the second floor there is a well equipped kitchen and pleasant sitting area which accommodated well the number of people staying. There is a winding metal staircase to access this area. Our room, on the ground floor was a good size and the bed comfortable (lighting perhaps a little dark). There were single toilets and showers spread within the building, which were clean. There is parking behind the building and across the road is a supermarket. Well located hostel if you have a car.

This hostel is lovely and cosy! The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is well laid out and stocked, most of the bathrooms are high end (with hairdryers, which is really handy!), and there are some really lovely areas to sit and chill. The area also has good access to shops for stocking up on food. I loved staying here and wished I was staying longer.
I did make a query about storing baggage before arriving that wasn't answered, so I think the communication is largely automated. Also, it doesn't seem as though there are facilities for luggage storage as there is no reception, so that's something for people to be aware of.

The room was spacious, with comfortable beds and nice furnishing. The shared living areas were very cozy and there was plenty of seating in the dining area. The bathrooms were lovely and the shelves made for good storage of clothes/toiletry bags, and I like that there were piles of hand towels for one time use - with a washing basket in the corner- it felt more eco friendly than single use paper towels. The bathrooms were very clean as well which helped me to feel comfortable using this shared space.
There was a strange echoing/effect that occurred when people walked past my room, which made it sound as though people were very loudly stomping past. This isn’t a huge problem if you’re going to be up and about early, but was an annoying way to be woken when I was hoping for a sleep in.

A really well thought out hostel. Bathrooms were stylish and always clean and available- and easy to keep clean and use too. Our room was a good size and comfortable and I slept really well. It was a real treat - and much appreciated - to have complimentary hot drinks; hot chocolate after a northern lights spell in the cold was ideal. The kitchen is very well equipped and organised and again easy to keep clean. Great communal space to relax in - and all guests seemed respectful of the place and people. We were really impressed with our stay. Also, got to see the northern lights on our walk back from the Main Street one evening (there’s a hill with a monument on it just past the big shopping centre) and even from the room itself! Other key traveller tips would be the free city bus to take you part way to the airport, also Akureyri car hire about 8 mins walk away: brilliant service and value.
Nothing at all.

The hostel was amazing, the beds were super comfy and the rooms / bathrooms absolutely spotless. There are lots of bathrooms and showers so I never had to wait to use one. The kitchen is has all of the necessities and there is a supermarket 2 minutes round the corner. The free yellow bus service stops just outside the hostel too which is really convenient. Great value for money and I even managed to see the northern lights from my window.
The only slight issue I had was that there was no hot water coming from the tap in my room, only cold, this wasn’t a huge issue as I could use the bathroom for warm water but it would have been nice.

I didn't see the staff while we were there because we were out and about most of the time, but I rated them highly because of their communication before our arrival, as well as the daily condition of the facilities. The hostel is right across the street from a gas station, pizza, and a Bonus. It was easy getting to and from the ring road. We spent 2 peaceful evenings here. Every area was clean, and the guests seemed very respectful of the shared spaces and each other. The dining area had lots of tables, and there was free instant coffee, tea, and hot cocoa packets. Our room had comfortable beds, a desk, and a few chairs, plus a sink and mirror. I wouldn't mind staying here again!

Modern and well equipped hostel in the centre of Akureyri. A good ratio of bathrooms to rooms. Large and well-equipped kitchen. We were offered a discount cuppon to a nice bakery (although it's a bit further away than just "in front").
The door locking electronic mechanism is totally automatic, and so very prone to failure. We had a lot of trouble trying to open the 2nd floor door and had to use another door to enter the building. Not an hostel problem, but other guests didn't always clean after themselves in the bathroom.

Really lovely hostel, within a 10 minutes walk of Akureyri. The hostel itself is spotlessly clean, my room was lovely and comfortable. The kitchen and dining area is spacious and the free tea and coffee is a lovely touch. There are plenty of showers and toilets so I never had to wait. Everyone here was lovely, and all respected the quiet after 11pm rule. I would definitely stay here again, amazing value for money!

We stayed in the double room with bathroom. It was tiny but not a problem for one night. The hostel interior looks recently renovated so everything is clean and modern.
The bathroom in our room could use a face lift. Self checkin is convenient but the lock on the main door didn’t really work so took a while until we figured out how to unlock it. There could be more kettles in the shared kitchen as it was pretty crowded there in the morning and there was just one.

I was a little wary of staying in a “hostel” but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious enough for two travel buddies and the beds were comfortable. The place is impeccably clean and I’m very impressed with the cleaning staff. The bathrooms are shared but there are enough to go around and I never had an issue with access. The kitchen/dining space is amazing. There is a Bonus grocery store within walking distance. One thing we didn’t realize before buying a frozen pizza was that there’s no oven (or at least we didn’t see one).
The only thing I would suggest would be better light-blocking blinds in the bedrooms. This summer sun is no joke.
