This was advertised as a boutique hotel and it's quirkiness is what we enjoy. The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and the breakfast was amazing! It is siuated right next to 2 restaurants and we ate at both! Very different cuisines but each so good. The Bosnian one obviously likes to make sure you are fed up to get through a cold winter. The other had equally good food but of a modern healthy mode. I had a great Poke bowl. Our transport on to Triezte was canceled at 2.30am the morning we were to leave and we had to scramble to get on the 7.30am Flixbus. The Morning manager got us a taxi which can be difficult early Sunday and handed us a bag of hot rolls and pastries with her excellent coffee in take any cups so we didn't miss out on breakfast. We felt well looked after at this lovely place. Ljubjana is worth visiting. Check out the amazing castle!

There was a small kitchen in our room as asked but it obviulously had not been used for quite some time. The hot plates were worn out. I think it best that it is not mentioned as a feature. As it turned out we were provided with tea and coffee downstairs on request and that was really good.

My daughter and I loved our rooms. Mine had a little kitchenette. Our beds were extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast was terrific and there was a menu for hot food on request. The atmosphere was serene with a beautiful courtyard - as pictured on the website It was a very short walk to the train and bus station and about 20 minutes to Ljubljana Old Town. Sixt car rentals was about 100 metres away which also had secure parking available that was quite reasonably priced.

The pillows When the only bad thing you have to say is about the pillows being too soft, it’s not much of a complaint. Some people might like really soft pillows.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was genuinely impressed. One of the highlights was the exceptional staff—professional, friendly, and attentive. The cleanliness was truly outstanding, both in the room and throughout the entire property. In fact, it's probably one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. Every corner of the room was beautifully decorated with attention to detail, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast was another standout feature. It was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. There was a wide variety of coffee options, not the usual machine-made type, but freshly made and served by a lovely staff member. You could also order eggs cooked to your preference, made fresh to order. While the buffet included croissants, fruits, and yogurt, everything else was served directly to your table, which gave the experience a very personal touch.

As for the negatives, there were just a few minor inconveniences. The hot water took a while to reheat after a shower, which could be a bit frustrating, although to be fair, I didn’t mention it to reception—it might have been a solvable issue. The heating was also not accessible during my stay (in May, when the weather was still a bit chilly); the radiators were off, and there was no remote control for the air conditioning in the room. Lastly, from an ergonomic perspective, the room could use more hooks or hanging space. It was a triple room but had only a wardrobe and a single spot in the bathroom for hanging towels or clothes.

We absolutely loved Boutique Hotel Asteria. From the moment you approach the reception you get a wonderful feeling about the hotel. The room was a great size and had everything you needed. We were backing onto the street but didn't hear anything overnight. The breakfast was lovely, everything you needed- cereal, eggs, sausages, crossaints, fruit, yogurt etc. Staff were so friendly and helped advise about local areas of interest. We will definitely be returning if we revisit Slovenia.

Only suggestion we had would be in the bathroom when the shower is running, the floor can easily get wet so maybe that could be looked into.

The location was very good for us - near the train/flixbus station and only 15 minutes away from the city center. The breakfast was good, the employees were very nice and the room for 3 people was perfect in size. The bathroom and in general everything was clean.

The doors are very thin and unfortunately we had pretty loud neighbours. In the evening it was not that bad, but in the morning you could hear the people quite loud from the breakfast. This is nothing tragic, I think we were just unlucky.

The staff at Hotel Asteria were lovely , helpful, accommodating and always on hand to answer questions about the local area. The hotel is situated 10 mins by foot from the railway and bus stations and a 15 min walk into the centre of the city. A lot of thought has been given to creating a warm and friendly atmosphere, including a pleasant outside sitting area. Our room was of an adequate size with a large bathroom with WC and shower , the room itself had sufficient storage space for clothes as well as a comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in the price and it was good to have hot options cooked to order rather than sitting around and getting 'tired '. We felt that this hotel offered good value for money in a lovely city to visit.

The hotel is on a busy main road so a fair bit of traffic noise during the day , also the main city hospital is just down the road so helpful if you need emergency treatment but lots of ambulance sirens going up and down the road. We should add that there was little of no noise at night and our sleep was not disturbed by road /ambulance noise.

This hotel is a beautiful place. It is like a fairy tall. As soon as you arrive and even before when you send email everything is perfect. The place is amazing. The girls who worked there are so nice. Really it is incredible to see such nice person. It is really really well located. When I wa a looking for a place to stay it was so hard to find something that look like acceptable. This place is such more than acceptable it is perfect. Thanks a lot for our stay and for all the attentions for my birthday Clem Charly and Ty

The staff at the hotel were wonderful, I especially liked the person who checked us in (I wish I had caught her name) who referred us to the Friday night street market that was a highlight of our stay in Ljubljana. We also really liked our room, the beds were really comfortable compared to other places we stayed during our trip. We also appreciated that the hotel arranged a shuttle for us back to the airport so we didn't have to worry about it.

Breakfast could have been a bit better, but there's plenty of places to eat around the hotel if you want something more elaborate. Otherwise we had no complaints and would happily stay there again.

The room was clean and functional, albeit with a very small bathroom. Good beds. The breakfast was okay. There were a few free parking spots in the street right in front of the entrance, and parking was cheap and easy with a coin-operated parking meter. Good location, not far from the station, and it's a 15 minute walk to the downtown area.

The bathroom was very small. Some acrobatic skills were needed to access the shower, or to brush the teeth above the small bassin. No mini-bar/fridge and no safe in the room.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, there is a very nice breakfast and location is quite good - few minutes walk from the main train station and ca. 10 minutes from city center. Room was clean, had everything you would need for short stay.

The room on the ground floor is poorly sound insulated. Other guests are having breakfast next to the room's entrance door, so you can hear everything from early in the morning or from the outside (main hotel entrance). I believe other rooms on top floors are more quiet, but this one on the ground floor I wouldn't recommend.
