The meals were great. The log fires in the evening kept us warm while we enjoyed our dinner . The hotel reminded us of an old country inn with all the modern amenities, which we had been looking for. The owners personally greeted us every morning at breakfast, which showed that they cared about their guests.

There was nothing that we did not like.

The room was spacious and clean. Dinner and breakfast was very good.

The Wi-Fi was a challenge. We were upgraded to the EB room, which was because of no Wi-Fi at the other room. We really appreciated this. The EB room need a little bit of attention. The blind in main bedroom cannot open and/close. The first night we had a cold shower, because no one switched the geyser on. We had to search for it ourselves, but luckily found it and the next day we had a warm shower.

To think of that.....nothing really

The hotel offered a traditional Berg hotel experience including Breakfast, 4 course plated dinner and morning and afternoon tea. It was the holiday season, so activities and entertainment where offered and the staff, particularly Vincent, our waiter during our stay, where amazing. the views from the hotel are exceptional and this is a really special part of the Berg.

This old girl needs a new dress. We believe some of the rooms had been revamped and given we got a deal we weren't expecting the best room but the absence of block out curtains or even curtains that closed the whole way detracted from the overall feel. The room was comfortable but really had seen better days and was in serious need of updating. Reception staff tried to be helpful but weren't well informed. For instance reception knew nothing about the beautiful trails available for walks and runs on the property. Some effort could be made to educate staff so that they can be more helpful around the amenities available both on the property and close to the hotel.

Breakfast and dinners were plated meals. Decent portions and very tasty. The room has underfloor heating which makes the cold nights a non-event. The room we stayed in had a lovely balcony with a spectacular view of the Mountain. The surrounding gardens are beautifully kept with an abundance of roses and other flowers in full bloom. There is a awesome children's program running even though it was not school holidays. The children have their own dining room which allows the parents some quality time alone.

The rooms are cosy and clean. Beds very comfortable. Rooms are nice and cool for the summer. Serviced daily. There is a TV with satellite but we didn't watch. Breakfasts are generous and very tasty. Dinner was 4 courses and very tasty, meals always hot and service brilliant. Our waiter, Vincent, was professionally friendly. Will absolutely return. Views from verrandah were exquisite. Very central to Monks Cowl hikes, cheese shop, chocolate tasting & brewery and the amazing Valley bakery with the best pizza ever.

Nothing to not like.

Their food was delicious but small helpings. Rooms were immaculate, neat and tidy. Cleaned everyday. Mid morning and mid afternoon teas and coffees with scrumptious little goodies were served on the Terrace, so beautiful.

Just the meal sizes were very small. I have 2 grown boys but they were too shy to ask for seconds even though it was an option. The meat dishes were not that grand, pork belly was too small and too fatty, Lamb curry was full of sinew and fat but other than that, it was all good.

Friendly staff. Mountain view rooms made all the difference from our previous visit. Comfortable beds, bath that fits two, homely food but sometimes it is hit and miss - awesome view!

The toilet leaked and although reported, was never fixed. Carpets need a good cleaning. Entire estate needs upgrade.

We loved. every moment of our stay from beginning to end. From the cheerful, helpful smilingly receptionist to a comfortable clean room, good food, great staff. Awesome views whether you want to just relax or be active The Nest has it all. We felt welcome from when we arrived. Made friends with guests who have been returning year after year so what does that tell you😊 we'll be back. Highly recommended.

meals were interesting and delicious from soup to pudding. breakfast a wonderful spread . Lunch time at the bar my family raved about the burger. New Year we had dinner and dance which we enjoyed and New years day spoilt with spit braai for dinner which was delicious. In the room the bathroom cabinet needs attention .
