The lodge is just amazing! The room is very comfortable and well decorated with attention at any detail. The staff is memorable, they prepared a dinner for the day we arrived served in the room, even though it was very late. I had a very special birthday, with a table setting with balloons and a kind card in addition to a cake served after the dinner. The food is outstanding, the chef deserves a 3 stars Michelin! The staff arranged all the Game Drivers, Kruger Day and Nature Drive (with a bottle of sparkling wine :) ) to us when we could learn a lot about wildlife. Having many animals in our backyards were speechless. To wait for our flight, they prepared a package with some snacks and water for us, so kind... I would like to thank so much for all the staff, specially Crystal, Melinda, Luis (the Chef), Rowen, John (who is not John :D), Jackie and Saskia. Team, YOU ROCK! I will certainly be back!

It was everything absolutely perfect!

Everything about Safari Moon was just amazing! My husband and I went for a weekend of rest and relaxation and we got just that! From the lovely full body massages we got on arrival after a 5 hour drive, to the "private" game drive with the lovely snacks provided was amazing. However, our favourite part of the whole trip was THE FOOD!! The chefs treated us to a lovely 3 course dinner every night, even doing a romantic set up in our suite one night and out at the boma on our last night. Every single piece of food that was served to us was absolutely 10 stars! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so amazing! We will definitely be back again!

Wonderful team who are very accommodating and gave us great service. The rooms are spacious with lovely decor. Good facilities - a large open-plan bathroom with a generous-sized shower and a bath plus an outdoor shower. We spent the afternoon taking a self-drive game viewing drive on the property. We selected the dinner option - the springbok carpaccio starter was superb, the main course was beautifully presented however our steaks were tough. The chef replaced my husband's steak with the fish option which he said was really good. There is ample breakfast with fruit, pastry, yoghurt and juice. They offered a variety of hot options; our English breakfast was well-prepared and tasty. Overall a lovely experience, sadly let down by the main course at dinner.

The wine selection is not very big

The lodge is very comfortable and welcoming. Our room was huge and nicely designed. Great tub for a nice bath, large windows looking out on the bush. Food was great - we had both dinner and breakfast. We stayed here after a trip to the Blyde River Canyon. It’s close to the airport so very convenient, and the estate where it’s located is very pretty.

My only complaint was that the staff started cleaning our room while we were at breakfast and still hadn’t checked out yet, so we walked into our room to finish packing and the housekeeper was in there already. It was a bit weird. But otherwise we really enjoyed this lodge for the night.

the room we were sleeping in is closer to the open-plan kitchen, we could hear the staff chats, cleaning the kitchen and the cooking. The staff paid attention to the details, which is very good. however there was no room spray for the toilet, and there was no bath salts or bubble bath to use when you decide to soak yourself in the bath.

The property is so beautiful and sets in peaceful preserve where giraffe, zebra, kudu, porcupine & wart hogs roam freely yet very close to the town of Hoedspruit where you fly into. The meals were most delicious. If you are in a hurry, tell them.. because meal times are designed for an “experience” so embrace the charm. We tried eating out in town and also had a breakfast during one of our excursions and felt cheated by not getting to dine at Safari Moon. Gourmet breakfast is included and the dinners have several choices & are more than worth adding to your stay…..the genuine gift of hospitality exudes from everyone working there almost feeling like family & treating guests like royalty .

This wasn’t “bad” but I had them do my laundry and they don’t use a dryer for guests so not to ruin anything so tell them if you are in a hurry for a particular item, which I would have liked to have known ahead of time.

Beautiful and cozy lodge . Friendly staff all around, very accommodating. Our room was well prepared everyday in the morning and evening. The food was very good. Property located in wildlife estate where you can go for nature walks or nature drive. Overall enjoyed our stay.

The safari we booked via the lodge, lodge uses a third party provider. I have done a lot of game drives and this was by far my least favorite.Our guide seemed like he didn’t want to be there, it felt like a complete waste of time and money.

We were taken by surprise - first time in Hoedspruit and totally underestimated the town and this guest/boutique lodge. We cannot find fault with anything and at the expense of sounding gushy - this gem of a lodge was the highlight of our trip. Grateful thanks to the warm and welcoming hosts Nicola and Guy, staff Pretty and Benny. This place is outstanding along with the exceptional food - again a culinary delight that came as a total surprise. We will be back again and again - I really am not normally one to gush but this is just one of those exceptions - our room alone was worth every penny and then some!

We didn’t stay long enough 🥰

Location 10 minutes to Hoedspruit town. Unless giraffes are standing in the road, which could mean a short delay. Gated “soft game” wildlife estate. Soft game means that there are no lions, elephant or other dangerous animals. However giraffes, warthogs, porcupine, sable and other antelope, etc. roam the reserve. We had duiker and porcupine out our sliding door, warthog and sable at breakfast. Great place to relax a few days getting over jet-lag before going into Kruger (like we have done many times) or before visiting a posh big five reserve - because why spend a fortune when you are too jet lagged to appreciate it.

The braai night was just OK in contrast to the other really good dinners.
