The rand club suites are the most perfect place to stay while in central central Johannesburg. The manager phill and also his staff, abi, boleng, Mthunzi and george to name a few, gave exceptional service. Way beyond what you would normally expect. Also Daniel, the door man was always on hand to help. The restaurant serves incredible food at fantastic value. They also have a new jazz club. Amazing venue and value. If you want value for money, comfort and stay in one of south Africa's most classy and beautiful buildings. This is the place for you.

We had amazing time at the Rand Club. It was like traveling back in time to the early XXth century Joburg. The place has amazing history and is practically a museum! People at the hotel were very nice and welcoming. Rooms were clean and very comfortable.

The location of the hotel might not be for everyone since it’s in the center of the city which is pretty abandoned. Lot of buildings surrounding the hotel are empty and the streets are pretty dark at night. It was cool for us cause it let us dig into the story of Joburg but it can be intimidating for some.

A unique experience. Step into a past era of grand opulence. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for us. The rooms were clean and the Club is well maintained and preserved. Loved the old books and historical displays around every corner.

I would have given five stars however most menu items were out of stock as there was a function the evening before… this was sad as they do not have an extensive menu and being in the hospitality industry myself I felt extra stock should be provisioned for, especially for functions. Scones out of stock and ingredients to make charcuterie board out of stock; even the breads. When taking guest reservations head chef should make sure there is stock to feed the guests.

The Rand Club is an iconic (bucket list) type of location - and it was a real experience to stay not only in Johannesburg CBD, but in such a historic building. Lovely all together. We did not expect a 'normal" hotel experience, so the slower service did not bother us.

I didn't feel that my car was very safe, having said that thought it was all fine in the morning.

The hotel and all the staff, were out of this world. This is a must go destination for any traveler heading to joburg. I am from uk and a professional musician. I spend around 3 nights a week in hotels and this place is absolutely awesome. Value for money, and pure class. Thanks so much phill, abi and the gang. Number 1

Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful old hotel with a lot of character and well maintained. Very comfortable room with all amenities. Great restaurant, bar area and food. Secure parking. Would highly recommend.

No airconditioner in the room.

This superb building has recently renovated great rooms, with old indoor open spaces and a great bar. Staying there is an experience! The location is not the best, so you need a car or taxi for moving around.
