We had an unforgettable stay at Pezula Retreat in Knysna! The villa was absolutely amazing — spacious, beautifully designed, and fully equipped for a luxurious and relaxing stay. The facilities are world-class, making it not only a retreat in itself but also an ideal hub for exploring the Garden Route. The spa services were exceptional. I had the Ritual Chamber, SOS CBT massage, and the Probiotics Facial — each treatment was delivered with such care and professionalism, leaving me completely rejuvenated. Truly a five-star wellness experience. What made our stay even more special was the outstanding service. A very strong compliment to Lucciano, the porter, whose warmth, constant helpfulness and friendly attitude, professionalism, and genuine care stood out. If you’re visiting the Garden Route, Pezula Retreat is an absolute must — a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and exceptional service.

We felt wrapped in luxury from start to finish! Our suite was stunningly decorated with high end finishes (travertine stone and natural wood). It was very spacious almost like a studio apartment with a mini kitchen, walk-in closet and wood burning fireplace! We had a lovely ocean view from our balcony! The property focuses on cultivating indigenous plants and even has a nursery so the flowers, trees and walkways were interesting and incredibly beautiful! The staff went above and beyond to take care of us! The breakfast was outstanding! They offer a buffet of fresh fruit,fresh fruit compotes, freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies as well as an array of fresh pastries including health muffins and banana bread and the hot dishes were simply world class! Dinner was also delicious with a truly varied menu! My spa treatment was amazing! I have to mention the staff again because they were so warm and welcoming! We felt truly refreshed after our stay because the people took such good care of us! Can't recommend highly enough!

Location is great, views are spectacular, breakfast is excellent, staff is friendly, facility is brilliant, restaurant food is delicious, 5 star for everything.

I requested an interleading 2 rooms during booking, on change of date, we were assisnged to 2 rooms without interleading, which made us 5 nights stay looking after our 2 young children very difficult. It's a common sense to put family or friends, when people booking 2 rooms in interleading rooms rather than those who book separately. We saw people checking in and out from one of the interleading rooms all the time during our stay, but we couldn't be allocated.

Honestly I don’t even know where to begin, everything was just absolutely perfect! It surpasses many 5 star hotels I have visited in SA and internationally. The staff go above and beyond for every request. The spa facilities are pristine and beautiful. We stayed in the Woodfired hot tub room and it was lovely! Just phone in reception and someone will prep the tub for you, emptied and completely cleaned every morning. Wonderful restaurant and cocktail bar on site. The fireplace in the rooms creates such a cozi atmosphere. I would also like to mention the lovely lady that would do our evening turn down service - she brings such a warm energy, along with all of the other staff at the hotel. I will absolutely be returning.

Everything was exquisite from the service by the staff.. to the place itself- tranquility at its best.. the fire wood now in winter.. Mashudu made us comfortable in our space by accompanying us to the rooms and showing us how everything works.. the reception lady who explains everything in detail.. the food.. the chef is really amazing because the food that is prepared for breakfast is always a new exploration.. the spa .. i wish i could remember all the names but everyone there always has a smile on their face.. we will definitely come back with our family and friends.. this is beyond 10/10

Beautiful location. Stunning setup. Easy to get ahold of a golf cart to escort you around the premises. Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful spa with friendly staff. Reception staff very attentive and welcoming, made an excellent impression on us as a family on arrival 24 May as the gentleman at reception took time to get to know us and make conversation which I really appreciated. The fireplace in the room is such a lovely feature!

I do feel the waiting staff at the restaurant could’ve been more attentive, often times had the table cluttered with empty plates until we got someone’s attention to clear. The waitress taking our dinner orders seemed very busy and abrupt, almost seemed irritated in fact. Similar experience with breakfast. Considering the standard of the entire establishment, it felt like a bit of a let down to be searching for someone to clear bowls off the table at breakfast. Whether the restaurant is full or whether there’s just 1 family of 3 seated in the corner, just being more attentive and easy to find when needed would’ve made our stay a 10/10. But 9.5/10 isn’t too shabby either I suppose.

The room had an amazing view , was big , great shower , the spa facility and indoor pool was a dream ... and their sumptuous breakfast with a view was just amazing ... and the bar was very relaxing , the decor , had classic bikes , boats etc. This was an amazing property and will definitely come back .

The carpet in the room is dated , me and My son suffer from sinus so we struggled ... they should replace the carpets with wooden floor or tiles ... The menu from the restaurant is very limited ...and did not appreciate not having bacon , pork ribs or sausages ... this was a major negative ... We are in South Africa and not Saudi Arabia , so we enjoy our bacon and pork ribs ... they should reconsider the decision to exclude them from the menu ... does not make sense.

The bedroom was nice and spacy ... the fireplace was perfect especially now in winter. The mattress was so comfy... I checked the label of the mattress in order to purchase one for me for home :) Breakfast was excellent... the buffet had a huge variety, my favorite was the Shatshuka. As for dinner we tried most of the meals on the menu and it was all very tasty and beautifully prepared Very seldom you get a restaurant that offers all foods halal... this was really great :)

Everything🌸🌸 the place is very beautifully inside out. The rooms are spacious. It really felt like home away from home. Oh Nkosi at reception 👌👌👌 excellent customer service and Siya @ the restaurant (1st impression). All the staff were good and the food was delicious. Gym facility and Spa as well👌👌 I enjoyed them Oh yes I also didn’t see the baboons which was a plus for me 😂😂 as I saw other reviews where people were complaining about them coming to their rooms. Overall it was good stay despite the house keeping issues.

The lady who was responsible to clean room 16 and 15 on the 2nd, 3rd of Jan 2025 if I remember very well. If I were to write it’s a lot but please management. Have a talk with her. The cleaning, linen not being changed etc. complains were laid and it was sorted. The carpet in room 16 was stuffy. I went through a serious episode of sneezing and blocked nose. Please have a look on the carpet or put wooden floor in all the rooms. Room 16 eish🤦‍♀️on Friday the toilet drain started to smell and whole room started to stink until maintenance guy came to put some chemicals. Inspect and Service all booked rooms prior to customer arrivals🙏

The room was an excellent size and the general facilities were on point. The hotel itself and room felt very special and private with a beautiful view. The hotel was in a good location for getting into Knysna as long as you're driving. The staff were great, particularly the porters who couldn't do any more for you. We would return.

As good as the bathroom facilities were they were a little tired and so were some aspects of the room, such as the carpet. The hotel lobby was very impressive and gave a good impression but walk downstairs to the restaurant and things also become a bit tired. The restaurant wasn't what we expected, not a spot for a nice dinner and it shows with the quality of food/ the dress code and behaviour of some of the other customers. The breakfast buffet was also limited.
