2nd stay at this lovely property. It has amazing views and great location in Knysna. A new addition that I appreciated was the hotel shuttle bus which is really comfortable and convenient for nights out to restaurants etc

Absolutely everything! The boutique hotel is located on the waters of Leisure Island, facing the Knysna Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve. The hotel upgraded my room and took such great care of me and my mother (who’d joined last minute). You get to use their bicycles, paddles, and kayaks at no extra charge! Whilst also having stunning facilities such as their pool, garden, and table tennis on the property, AS WELL AS them offering boat cruises for 2 guests or more for R500 per person. Mariet who works at reception made sure to give us the best experience- creating a warm and welcoming environment. Fortune, Promise, and all the other staff were so accommodating and shared great tips on where to visit and activities we could do to heighten our experience. Grateful to them and the residents and businesses in and around Leisure Island, Knysna, for creating a space for such a memorable Sho’t Left. Ten out of Ten, will recommend to everyone and look forward to returning that side soon!!!

Truly Spectacular – A Dream Stay From start to finish, this place blew us away. The facilities are absolutely top-notch—everything felt thoughtfully designed and luxurious. The pool was a dream, and our room was cozy, stylish, and made us feel completely spoiled. Having complimentary access to bicycles and kayaks was such a treat—it really added to the experience. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the candlelit bath made for a perfect, relaxing evening. As I said before, and I’ll say again: this place is spectacular. Can’t wait to come back.

We genuinely loved everything about our stay. Having our own private access to the restaurant was such a cool perk, and room service was super easy and convenient. If I had to find something to nitpick, it’s that there wasn’t any heating (which we noticed at night), and the laundry service was a bit on the pricey side. But honestly, those were tiny details in an otherwise incredible experience.

From the second I got here, this place just gave off total calm, luxury vibes. The view of the green hills rolling into the water was honestly the most peaceful thing ever—and it stayed that way the whole time. The room was super cute, bright, and beachy, with white and blue tones that made it feel like a proper holiday spot. The outside space? My absolute fave. Between the loungers, that swing chair, and the insane view, I barely wanted to move. Even inside, everything was styled to perfection—like something off Pinterest but still cozy and chill. If you’re after a romantic getaway or just need to reset solo, this place is an absolute gem

Absolutely gorgeous location and views, set on a stunning, safe and private island with a wonderful and relaxing atmosphere. The room itself was also stunning - relaxing beach vibe and very stylish at the same time. Using the on-site bicycles and travelling around the island was also a big highlight of our trip as there is a lot to see and do on the island, as well as using the on-site kayaks to paddle around the lagoon. It's also very close to some of the amazing restaurants at the lagoon mouth (Pizza E Vino was brilliant).

There were one or two minor maintenance issues like our bathroom tap that sprayed water from the connection which messed on the sink/would mess on one's shirt. The stackable windows seemed to be leaking in the corner whenever it rained and the carpet seemed to be rotting because of it. A bit more maintenance will go a long way. The staff member handling the kayaks was also extremely rough with the kayaks, which might be why our kayak had a few holes in which made it waterlogged/let water into the internals which meant it didn't paddle as well/became difficult to carry after finishing etc.

The view from our room was exactly as it was in the photos, the pre-packed breakfast was super handy for the next morning's hike. Also great location.

The gorgeous pool in the photos that was the leading reason behind us choosing amanzi hotel belongs to the exec suite - which means we didn't get to use the pool that we drove all the way to the hotel for!!! Definitely some false advertising there. The pool we could use was in the shade at the back of the building and to be shared with many drowned resident bugs.

I loved the breath taking views. I loved the peacefulness and the attention to detail-even the music in the back ground was perfect. The chocolates on the bed, the robes, the tea etc and the soaps in the bathroom-so much thought put into it l. There was even a piece of lavender on the hand clothes in the bathroom. It was very clean. The staff where so so helpful and friendly. The beds where comfortable. The breakfasts where delicious. The coffee was so good! It’s so tranquil and stunning. The gardens are so well kept and so relaxing to sit outside. You can ride bikes and kayak. I just loved everything!!!

The hotel is so cozy and beautiful! Ours rooms were incredible: new, spacious and nice decorated! The staff was kind, friendly and helpful! They even washed our car when we asked for a broom to sweep the car’s floor (it was full of sand). Breakfast is amazing and full of delicious options. The surrounding is fantastic, the hotel is situated in an island and we could enjoy some bike rides and the kids went kayaking (Amanzi lends the bikes and kayaks for free). It was MAGICAL! I keep imagining how wonderful it must be on summer time, since we had a blast even on winter!

The sea facing Coral Suite was large with great views of the ocean & The Knysna Heads. Very comfortable big bed. Dinner next to the fireplace was really good. Breakfast was good with a small but good selection of buffet items & a great variety of cooked items to order- the views from the restaurant are amazing. Having bicycles out the front of the hotel that guests can use is a really great touch - the ride around the island is flat & easy to do I would definitely recommend doing it.
