The location was perfect, right on the water. The beach was very easy to access and had many SUPs and canoes to use. Also a great spot for swimming and walking across the lagoon. The apartment was cleaned every day, which was great. It also had every single cooking item you can imagine. A really perfect, relaxing spot and lovely accommodation and great for kids. We would definitely come again.

We had an issue with the plumbing while we were there - everything was completely blocked due to the tree roots growing in the pipes - but the maintenance guy worked very hard to try and fix it and clean up the apartment. It was a bit cold and we didn't have a heater - heated blankets in the beds would be appreciated. Parking in the tiny parking spots is very tricky, so be prepared!

Location was genius as well as the suberb chalet and the great view on the Knysna Lagoon . We should not forget James who has been a super friendly host, always eager to help .

Sea side cottages are amazing, 1 meter from the beach with stunning views (it doesn't get better!). Cottages in the middle are less romantic in terms of views (we stayed in both). Personnel was really friendly, also reception very helpful and good availability. Free use of very accessible kayaks and sup board is great!! Very quiet sea for (young) kids!

Location is lovely however you have to drive at least 10/15 minutes to have dinner somewhere or get to a supermarket. More facilities/restaurant/breakfast on the resort would be nice. Oh and just note it is therefor not a resort as the name suggests, just cottages with a reception (we expected more facilties/breakfast etc because of the name).

Under Milkwood was very nice with very friendly helpful staff, we stayed in a clean & neat wooden cottage that has all the self-catering amenities required, they are situated in a very safe location, some units look onto the Knysna lagoon.

We really enjoyed everything except the false advertising, It was advertised as having a lagoon view, but we ended up getting a unit that looked into the back of another wooden cottage, i advise you inform future residents that you only have a few cottages with lagoon views and if they are available.

This is an exceptional resort; outstanding service, comfortable, high end Le Creuset crockery and pots and pans, even a Nutribullet, they've thought of everything Beautiful location near the Heads beauty spot. Delighted with my middle cabin with partial view of the lagoon. 50 steps from the water (lagoon) with complementary kayaks and paddle boards, loungers tables and chairs. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, thank you team. I stayed for a month in South African winter

Parking is difficult if the resort is full. Luckily most days were quiet

This was possibly the best place we stayed on our trip. It was beautiful and the chalet by the water was perfect. Loved the free-to-use watersport equipment and we went for a paddle and a swim, despite the rain. The kitchen was beautifully equipped and had everything you could want. Wish we could have stayed much longer.

A heads up that the wind tears around there would have been appreciated. I barely slept all night waiting for the wind to rip the roof off, but the next day locals told us that it wasn't unusual. 🤣 Slept well the next night!

Location is simply impressive. Open your door onto the lagoon. The old charming heritage cabins smell so divine and the setting of each one so unique. Nestled between lush vampires of palms and Milkwood trees and each with a lovely terrace balcony with an interesting view. Well fitted with all the amenities needed in a kitchen or stay. The staff so friendly and helpful and the team put on a splendid New Year’s Eve cocktail and bubbly event to enjoy the New Year’s Eve overlooking the beauty of the Knysna lagoon.

The location is one of the best on planet Earth: a secluded nest from which to watch Nature in all its magnificence: the lagoon, the flora and the distant Outiniqua mountains; the many swooping and calling birds, replaced by bats after dark….. it’s all so beautiful and is the epitome of inside-outside living with lovely terraces flanked by great trees and breath-taking views from all aspects. Unlike many neighbouring properties Under Milkwood doesn’t try to dominate its position; it sits comfortably and quietly into its surroundings and is mostly invisible from the water… Someone in the past set this property up using imagination and sympathy for the environment. The current staff are the best: helpful, efficient and so kind!

Really can’t think of anything! Though it would be nice if all the drilling nearby ceased and no more development was allowed in this Garden of Eden……

Our room was dried by the beach so the views were amazing. The lovely outside deck was next to the braai and it caters for lovely dinners outside. The kitchen is well furnished and everything is very new.

The bed wobbled badly and we had to put a towel under one leg to stop it. Additionally, the bedsheet were very old and rough.

Loved the wooden cottage and all it had to offer. It was warm and cozy, and has an amazing deck that catches all the afternoon sun. The cleaning service was great. Loved that we had a bath and shower. Excellent linens and comfy pillows. The beachfront location and use of kayaks and SUP boards.

The beds were somewhat uncomfortable as the mattresses were hard in our chalet, but I spoke with the reception staff and they are grateful for the feedback, and do make changes to the mattresses.
