Situated in a leafy suburb of tbe city close to Highway, Cape Road, and st Georges Hospital, this accommodation is perfect for guests needing to be close to the hospital or eye clinic. The warmth of the hosts and family as well as the content and friendly pets helped us to relax during a stresful time Old frniture with so much beauty and woodem floors and elegant chandeliers sets the tone for this house. Our bed was so comfortable that we slept long past sunrise.. Expect an exceptional breakfast. Hashbrowns, egg, fresh avos from their tree, bacon and toasr and a hearty togetherness in the dining room. Treetop views hovering over a deep valley and the morning news on a TV set. Comfortable couches, cutlery and plates and mugs to use for your snacks. Salt and pepper and sauces available if you need to pep up your own snacks. Bathroom spaciois and hot water in a few seconds. We did not want to leave.. It is a place you want to come home to.

I had to find a room at short notice at a difficult time, when my wife was admitted to hospital in PE. As I didn't have my own transport, the location also needed to be within a very short distance. As it turned out, the whole experience was made altogether more manageable because of the warm and welcoming, but unobtrusive reception. Because of my situation, location was paramount, so it made all the difference that I could walk comfortably to and from St George's in under 15 minutes (each way). If anyone should find themselves in similar difficulty, they could do a lot worse than Valley Guest House.

From the outside it is very unassuming and my lead you to think you could done better. You’d be wrong! John and Marilyn are super friendly, hospitable, true ‘mensch’. A one night stay is mostly to get a good nights rest, and this you will certainly get in abundance. The bed, sheets, duvet, are super comfortable! They have a simple but clearly proven self help setup and kindly offered me ine of their amazing avos, from their own 30-ye old tree. Absolutely delicious! If you can look past the old style home and some happily-lived-in wear and tear, this place is a hidden gem! You also feel like you’re in a peaceful dorwt with the mature garden and beautiful big old tree outside their upstairs wooden deck.

The guest house is located a short drive away from the airport which was convenient for us as we had an early morning flight. The hosts were very friendly and warm and made us feel welcome in the house. We also appreciated the privacy they gave us despite being in the same house. The breakfast too was delicious and we appreciated the hosts efforts to pack it in take away packs as we had to leave early for the airport. The guest house is value for money and great for a short term stay.

There was a musty smell that hits your nose the moment you step into the house. Not sure if the carpet causes this smell but it can be quite unpleasant. Also the property does not have a generator to cater for load shedding. The hosts tell you though in advance when the load shedding is going to happen so as a guest you can plan around this.

Rooms were clean, super comfortable beds, fresh linen, small fridge, coffee, tea, milk, bottle water, shampoo, conditioner, disinfectant, soap, face cloths, crisp towels, wifi, openview: good basics Hosts and hostesses were exceptionally warm, friendly and accommodating The breakfast spread was a pleasant surprise. Great for socialising over braai or breakfast.

The weather. Lovely outdoor communal braai area, weather permitting or you'll need an alternate plan B. Road block from event at St Georges Park, meant we were diverted around the park, the long way round.

The breakfasts are superb. No fuss good old home cooking and personal friendly service from hosts Marilyn and John. Very homely, relaxed atmosphere and close to St Georges hospital which was a bonus.

Front garden and entrance could use a tidy up.

Hospitality , value for money. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is helpful in terms of attractions places to visit & a bit of history.

What a lovely welcoming place to stay. I arrived a bit late in the evening. They warmly greeted me at the gate and got me settled in. Comfy room, well appointed.

This is definitely a guest house experience, so don't expect a private hotel room. With that in mind, the people were exceptionally friendly and worked extremely hard to be helpful, including providing board games for the kids and letting us stay past check-out due to the weather. They offered a full breakfast at a modest fee and it was wonderful and tasty.

We happened to come in the coldest part of the year, and the house was cold.
