We used to live in Groenkloof, so the first thing we liked was the location - on Herbert Baker Street in beautiful Groenkloof with beautiful views of Pretoria. We liked the smallish nature of the hotel as it felt almost like staying in our own home. The rooms are great, including the beds and linen. The staff was great, breakfast, etc. Planning on going back next time!

This was our fourth stay at 131 on Herbert Baker Boutique Hotel, and once again, it exceeded expectations. It has become our go-to accommodation in Pretoria, and we always look forward to returning. The hotel offers breathtaking views and is situated in a safe, secure area with the added benefit of a lock-up garage. The rooms are spacious, featuring elegant interiors, quality bedding, and luxurious bathrooms with both a bath and a shower. The staff are outstanding—special thanks to Foster and Savemor for their warm hospitality and excellent service throughout our stay. We highly recommend 131 on Herbert Baker Boutique Hotel.

The description on bookings.com of the room was incorrect. It stated clearly the booked room had a shower and a bath. It only had a shower, and we had to upgrade the room and pay more for the bath we wanted. THe only difference between the room we booked and the one we had to upgrade to (according to bookings.com description) was the size of the bed. In real life the difference was a shower vs a shower and bath.

Spacious Rooms, Friendly Staff, Privacy to do our work they also kept on checking if we are fed and if we need anything else to make our stay more comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, it felt like someone was ALWAYS ready to help with ANYTHING. We never had to look or call for anyone the presence was always there. The music playlist was also really amazing.

Everything was perfect and the staff members are definitely the heart of this place, they gave us a very good service and made us feel at home.The beauty of this hotel just captured me, the furniture is good quality and the decor will make you forget that you are in Pretoria. I enjoyed the breakfast a lot, it's simple and yet very tasty and so filling. We got upgraded to a Delux room and that was nice , the room is spacious with a big bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and big, the mini bar is very well priced and the room was facing the pool, the location was good and the hotel was so quiet and serene all the time, I love those books that are scattered in the lobby area as part of deco. I would definitely stay here whenever I'm in town.

We couldn't stay away from this hotel, we came back the same day after we checkout when our plans changed, we got the same warm welcome like we were just coming home from work, our room was spacious and had a separate office/sitting area that we liked it since my husband was working, the shower was a bit small but had really strong pressure that made our showers enjoyable. The room had a nice view of the pool and it had enough cupboard space, we enjoyed the coffee and their full house omelet. I would definitely stay here again and I will recommend this hotel.

It didn't have safety deposit box

A secure, clean, quiet, well situated, comfortable boutique hotel. The manager, Mr Savemore, went the extra mile to see to my specific needs, as I had a medical procedure at the nearby Life Groenkloof Hospital. One doesn't often experience such a high level of customer-service and I thank him very much for the trouble he went to, in order to make my stay comfortable and flawlessly smooth. This hotel is way ahead of every other accommodation venue that I've ever stayed in.

The bed and room sizes. The reception and communication with the staff. The quiteness and tranquility of the space. It is a very lovely place to rest and yet not far.

I was allocated a smoking room, but this was addressed swiftly and with care. The room had a bit of maintenance but nothing to be too worried about. The breakfast was quite basic but appreciatable. The coffee can be brewed for self service so that is stays warm. If you could also invest of fresh juices and not syrup mixes.

In the secured area of Groenkloof. Safe parking on premises. Quite spacious rooms. Comfortable beds and airconditioning. Staff is kind and courteous and respect privacy of guests.

It would be nice to have a healthy breakfast option, e.g. cereal and plain yoghurt, fresh fruits cuts. The guest house is a little worn out and needs some update. I would stay again.

The Hotel was beautiful. The entrance hall all the way to the foyer, bar, breakfast section and room feels comfy and elegant. The staff was exceptionally friendly and a joy to talk with. The Room was big and the bath was huge. It can fit 2 people comfortable. The shower is big and the toilet is decent. There was coffee and tea available with a mini bar (own account if you take from it) with snacks and some soft drinks to alcoholic beverages. The breakfast was really good and it was amazing. Loved it.

The carpet was a bit dirty. Needs a bit of a clean.
