Brilliant accommodation and perfect location for our one night stay after the Kruger Park. If we had known it was going to be so nice we would of stayed longer to tour the area. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was really good and plenty of choices. The breakfast was fab and delicious. You can not fault this lodge, from modern, spotless, clean, large, comfy rooms to the privacy and manicured gardens, we recommend it 100%.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monkey Thorn Guest Lodge in White River. Rooms were huge and beds absolutely comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast twice and our whole family was blown away by the excellent service we received from the dedicated staff, especially from MC, who always went the extra mile and fulfilled every one of your wishes instantly. Many thanks again, MC! Food was delicious and we were really glad we'd decided to eat at the lodge. We would have stayed longer if we could have and we really hope to stay there again some time near. You really won't find a better place to stay at!

I booked last minute and was amazed at the welcome I received. The room I had was outstanding. It was very spacious, clean and had excellent facilities. I arrived late and the restaurant was still open where I was served a burger that was delicious. Next morning I saw the lodge in day light, it is very pretty, the gardens are manicured and I enjoyed my breakfast immensely, plenty of choices and very generous portions. An overall shock at finding such an outstanding place last minute by chance.

We had an amazing stay at Monkey Thorn Lodge. From the moment we arrived it was really good. The manager and his staff were tops and looked after us really well. There is nothing you could fault. We sat on the veranda at sunset enjoying cocktails followed by a lovely meal. The beds are the best and our suite was very private. My wife loved the gardens and bird watching. We can highly recommend this establishment and will be back next year for longer.

We stayed for one night at this amazing lodge on our way to the Kruger. We felt like we were already in the bush when we enjoyed the evening around the boma fire. The cottage we had was stunning and overlooked the lushest greenest garden I have seen in a long time. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and the staff and service is great. We met the owner who was very friendly and she gave us maps of the best trails in the Kruger. Places like this make travelling a pleasure. Great job you guys.

Great experience, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room was amazing, beautifully decorated, clean and very spacious. The gardens are immaculate and the main lodge where the restaurant is was lovely. We sat by the fire before dinner and enjoyed a cocktail and then had the most delicious meal in the restaurant. we can highly recommend Monkey Thorn Lodge and it was also great value for the price we paid.

Fantastic experience. We were shocked at how nice the lodge was, from the moment we entered you could tell someone really loves this lodge. The attention to detail is excellent, from the room layout to the menu. The staff are well trained and very welcoming. The gardens are incredibly beautiful and immaculate. We would recommend this for a weekend away, it is so relaxing.

The accommodation was excellent, spotless clean, fantastic room facilities and the main lodge building was charming and a lot of care and attention has been given to make it so stylish and comfortable. The staff were very well trained and very friendly. The food was excellent with plenty of choices and all home cooked. This is an excellent place and next time we will stay longer.

This is the second time we have stayed at Monkey Thorn Lodge and it was just as lovely as we remember. In fact the gardens were magnificent. The food as always was delicious, home cooked and fresh. One of the best lodges we have stayed at in a long time. We had dinner in the restaurant and everything is home cooked and really delicious. The setting is charming with beautiful grounds. Staff lovely and very attentive. Best was the breakfast, everything on the menu to choose from and the wors was the best. We highly recommend this lodge and we will be back with the kids.
