Hongdae Guesthouse was a wonderful introduction to SK for myself and my partner. Very friendly hosts, wonderful breakfasts in the morning! The communal spaces were clean with all the utilities you might need when visiting a different country (phone chargers, tea, coffee). The building itself felt very secure and private.

We spent a lot of time getting to the other side of Hongdae where more nightlife and "tourist" spaces were. We also found our room a little cramped at times, with only just enough space for 2 people, and 2 suitcases to fit comfortably, if you like to have veg out time in your room between trips out this might not be the space for you.

Very convenient location, 3 minutes walk to HongDae station Exit 1. 3 convenient stores nearby, coin laundry, drug store all in 1-3 minutes walking distance. Cozy, clean room with very comfortable pillow cotton quilt and bed. Washing machine, refrigerator, bathroom are all very clean, bathroom has very well ventilated, the whole room has an elegant natural scent😊 The owner even prepared breakfast, we got everything we need, and the owner provides all the information we need in advance, reply massage quickly which was so helpful! The owner is so thoughtful, that she even turn on the air conditioning to cool the room and the living room before we arrive! 💕

The guesthouse was close enough to the main bbq/busking area of Hongdae (5min walk away), but far enough that it’s still quiet when you return to sleep. So much effort was put into providing a different breakfast menu every morning that I felt bad I didn’t wake up early enough to eat it. The owner was also very helpful when i asked for help to make dinner reservations, and even dropped me a reminder on the day of. It’s a little pricier than I would pay for a guesthouse but the stay was of great value.

The hosts were lovely, so welcoming and kind! I left behind something and they're keeping it safe for me so I can come collect it once I'm back in Seoul. Breakfast prepared every morning with a good selection. Common areas were clean and well looked after. Clear signs up explaining everything so you feel fully informed. Location was amazing, 5 mins from Hongik Uni metro stop. 2 convenience stores within a minutes walk :)

The beds were a little uncomfortable but that's just personal preference as I prefer a softer bed.

Fantastic delicious breakfast included every morning in mini buffet style, with both Korean and Western options, and nutritionally balanced. The beds are very cozy and comfortable. The owner, Min, is very responsive to questions and messages via WhatsApp etc. One of the best things is the heating is perfectly balanced in winter - warm enough so you are never cold, but not exaggeratedly over heated like many other places in Seoul. Many cafes and convenience stores nearby, and a short 5 minute walk to the key subway station, Hongik University Station (and many buses too). Quick ~20 minute train or bus to key areas like Myeong-dong etc. Located in a quiet area. Great value for money overall.

So much thought has been put into this property to make it warm and welcoming for travellers. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, you can tell they love travellers and travelling. The location is excellent, next to fun Hongdae but very peaceful. Quiet at night with aircon and we slept well. Breakfast is served every morning and it changes everyday with options for vegetarians. They even play smooth piano jazz throughout the property which is wonderful.

Great location, close to Myendong for night markets and subway. Lovely neat room (I had the family room) with a washing machine, roof terrace and hot and cold water dispenser. Bed was really comfy.

I had read other reviews but was not ready for the stairs! If you get a family room - the stairs are intense. I think someone quite old - or really young would struggle. The owner is happy to assist with luggage though. Also, there was no block out blind and the sun shone straight in the window in the morning - easily fixed with an eye mask though.

I appreciate the fact thought is given to the daily breakfast options and there are a variety of options. Min, the Manager of the Guesthouse is friendly, helpful, and responsive. The guesthouse is cozy with a friendly vibe and it is located in a great area! The guesthouse is close to Hongik University and a variety of food, drink, and shopping options. Also, and very importantly, the guesthouse is close to the Hongik University Metro station.

It lays really close to the subway station, the owner is very kind and helpful, there are all kind of amenities and it is not too loud at night, if there is no party in the neighbourhood. I would definitely book it again.

Some parts, like the ceilings need some refurbishment. But if you don't look too closely it is alright. I know other apartments or hotels especially in Hongdae look worse and are more expensive. If you stay just a few nights it is a good option especially thanks to the kind host.
