Alright, let’s be honest — I always pictured hostels as a mix of creaky bunk beds, weird smells, and a dude named Kyle stealing my last clean socks. Never actually stayed in one. Just bad vibes by imagination. But Onefam Paralelo in Barcelona? That place slapped me across the face and said, “Sit down, rookie.” This isn’t just a bed — it’s a full-blown simulation of how fun life can be if you’re constantly surrounded by legends. The guests? Wild, hilarious, unforgettable. The staff? Part hype crew, part therapists, part event planners — basically the Avengers of good vibes. And yes, even with all the chaos, the place is actually super clean — like, suspiciously clean for how wild the nights get. Respect. You won’t just meet people here — you’ll accidentally build a small international army that would probably follow you into battle with zero context. I came in with one foot out the door. By day two, I was checking rental prices in Barcelona and mentally adopting everyone I met. If you’re under 45 and still capable of human interaction, this is your place. Don’t think. Just book. Go get semi-emotionally attached to strangers and lose track of weekdays.
All good

Eoin who was on reception the day of my stay in this hostel was an absolute gent. So accommodating with everything I needed during my stay in OneFam Paralelo. Made me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived which exceeded my expectations! Jeff who was on duty to make food for guests for free of charge that evening made a beautiful pasta dish that was a big hit with everyone! They have a brilliant structure in place at this hostel to allow all guests staying to mingle and get to know each other, offering a free meal in the evening, a drinking games option before a representative of the hostel will bring the guests out to a bar to mingle with the other OneFam hostels in Barcelona before then offering free entry to the bar/club that has been decided for that night. I would 100% recommend anyone and everyone to stay at this hostel if you want to make new friends and feel like you're at home and accommodated for.

I had such a great stay at Onefam Paralelo. From the moment I arrived, Lucy was so lovely and made me feel really welcome. She checked me in with a big smile and was kind and helpful throughout. The hostel itself was very clean and I really appreciated the privacy of the sleeping pods with curtains which was a nice touch. I loved the balance of being able to join the group for nights out while still having the freedom to do my own thing and explore Barcelona at my own pace. Big thanks to the rest of the team for organising the games and evening activities. They created a fun and friendly atmosphere and made everyone feel included.
No complaints, highly recommend Onefam Paralelo to any solo traveler going to Barcelona.

Great establishment with friendly hosts like Lucy, Hallie but of course my French darlings Aya and Jules who instantly put a smile on your face. It was a great experience I recommend to anyone traveling alone and who wants to experience something intense. Culture with daytime outings, good meals in the evening and a wild night. Don't hesitate, go for it!
Be careful with tall people, the beds can be a little small in shared rooms, there might be a lack of sports or other daytime outings rather than guided tours, like organized volleyball or paddleboarding, that would be cool

It was the most amazing time here, my first time staying in a hostel. I was blown away by the amount of activities (there was not a boring minute of my trip) and the free, freshly cooked vegetarian meals every night were delicious. I'm usually quite an introvert but the experience here like the games and going out as a group allowed me to meet so many cool people and became so much more confident as a person, of course it helped having some beer but everyone was so welcoming and friendly! We all looked out for one another and the team leaders really knew how to party and have fun! Shout-out to staff member Kristian who was an absolute legend when I had trouble buying a train ticket, he bought my ticket for me and refused me to pay him back later, so generous of him. Aussie Dom was also fantastic, sharing beers with me and stepping in when I panicked due to social anxiety. I made so many friends and unforgettable memories!
It's hard to think of anything I didn't like honestly. One night I got too drunk so was refused entry to a night club, which of course was my own fault! But thanks to the community group chat and friends I'd made at the hostel, I found my buddy to walk back to the hostel with so it was all good!

The staff is great. Very friendly and helpful. They plan a lot of social events and there is someone at reception 24/7 which helps with security. They give free meals which is nice. The bed was comfortable and washroom was clean. The outdoor balcony is nice and useful. All the guest I met here were great. Nice social vibe without being overly party. Marianne and Lucy were great and I hope they are rewarded for their hard work ;)
The location is uphill which can be tough to drag a suitcase in the summer heat. I didn’t like using a 5 digit code to get in the main door, I prefer using a card but that’s a minor thing

I had an amazing time at Onefam for the second time and even ended up extending my stay! The staff and volunteers are incredible—they genuinely love the lifestyle, and it truly feels like everyone becomes a family during your time there. Jo was super welcoming during check-in and made the whole process smooth and effortless. Zane went above and beyond, taking us to the best vista in the city on his day off, just because some of the group had to leave before the scheduled tour. That was such a thoughtful and unforgettable experience—thank you, Zane! ❤️ Travis is such a cool guy, an incredible chef, and a total party animal. I also had an amazing time in the House and partying with Juliana, who started her volunteering journey while I was there. Maddy was like the ultimate house mom—always ensuring everyone felt welcome and that their needs were met. The staff organized a fantastic Secret Santa event for everyone to take part in with games and so much laughter. We also had a delicious three-course Christmas dinner, which everyone worked so hard on from the early morning. Together, they created one of the most unforgettable and wholesome Christmas experiences I’ve had in years. I laughed so much and felt so at home. Big shoutout to Shalom, Alissa, and Caeris for being absolutely awesome as well. If you’re traveling solo—or even in a group—and want to party while making lifelong friends, I wholeheartedly recommend Onefam. 10/10, would stay again!

The highlight of my stay at Onefam Paralelo was the exceptional hospitality from the receptionist, Made. She was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making every guest feel valued and cared for. Made went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect and made the stay truly memorable. Trevis also added to the experience by organizing fun social activities, but it was Made’s warmth and professionalism that stood out the most. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, and created a great sense of community, making it easy to meet and connect with others.
There’s very little to criticize, but the common areas could get a bit crowded during peak hours. Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Such a beutiful place! You have a big terrace to smoke, drink and get to know people, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the bathrooms are full of room and everything you need to change up. They also have a kitchen so big that it’s actually a living room with a big TV, they also cook for you both lunch and dinner and they have a private room with another TV to watch movies. They also organise a lot of activities everyday, like clubbing, beach trips and drinking games. The staff is ALWAYS at your disposal, anytime every day. P.S. Eoin is the main man in there, the best, always joyful and kind and helpful.

Lucy and the team at OneFam Paralelo were fabulous! Super welcoming and always had the right energy regardless of what their role was. It was a clean and thoughtful hostel, creating such a friendly environment with the family style dinners. I stayed in the 8bed dorm and it might have been a chill set of people but I wasn’t woken up once. The tours and the nights out were fun and well organised.
I’m not sure if the location could have been more central but it was so easy to get by on metro or bus
