Beautiful space. Good location, easy to get to public transportation and active area but the hotel was quiet. The staff was friendly.

The bathroom was separated from the room by a glass wall and was completely see through without a curtain or any separation. Although I was in the room alone, This meant I needed to close the outside window curtains each time I used the toilet or showered.

I knew I wanted to stay near La Rambla, but not right on it. Nouvel is right off and down the street a bit, so it's a lot quieter. Also it was near a couple of nice restaurants. Hotel has a classic feel and has a lot of amenities. They were nice enough to help schedule us a taxi for the ride back to the airport. I loved the size of the bathroom and there were ample outlets for all the electronics. I had booked a room with a window not looking out to the street, but to be honest I would be staring at a window across the street anyway, lol. Room had nice AC, which we used a little, but the window could be opened as well. My wife and i dug the ample closet space and safe. Room was also cleaned every day. I liked the option of a breakfast if i wanted and the small bar/cafe onsite was handy for a late night coffee. It felt comfy and for our trip was a very economical way to get closer to the sites in the Gothic quarter.

I think if you are looking for an ultra modern look and feel, this may not suit, but i liked the appearance and it had everything i really needed. I mean we are there to see the city, lol. I want something comfy, clean and that isn't too far away from things.

If you travel light, like us, this hotel is perfect. It's located in a pedestrian area, so you don't get traffic noise. It's smack-dab in the middle of everything you want to see, and close to public transportation. Since it's only about a 2-minute walk to Plaza de Catalunya, you are in the middle of everything. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Plus, it's close to all sorts of cafés and eating places.

I really liked this hotel. Advice: don't buy the breakfast package. There's a lovely café right next door.

The hotel itself is very clean and right in the heart of everything! If you like to walk around and explore you can’t beat the location.

The staff at the desk seemed bothered when asked a question. In the evening the guy working the counter seemed more interested in what was going on with the computer he would not remove himself from.

Fantastic location, very clean, nice and helpful staff (they can also store your bags if you get there too early, or after leaving the room, when you have some hours until going to the airport etc.), very efficient air conditioning, very good WiFi. Overall we were very happy with the stay at this hotel :) I would totally recommend the place.

Only something very minor: the electric installation was making a quiet buzzing sound that you could hear in the silence of the night (but not to the point that it would be really disturbing). Also, the room was a bit too dark (but again - not a problem, we went there to roam around the city, not to sit at the hotel :) )

Great hotel and great location if you wish to stay in central Barcelona. The hotel has an old style to it, but it was fresh, clean and the staff were very friendly. These days it is great to stay at a hotel where the still clean the room every day without you having to tell them. The hotel is located in a cosy side street from the Rambla with fantastic small coffeeshops just when you exit the hotel, so easy to eat breakfast at a very affordable price.

When we booked, there were the option for a queenside bed, which we chose. However, please be aware that the hotel hava a limited numer of queenside beds and we didn't get one - besides that all was good!

Fab location. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. Coffee machine downstairs made up for no kettle in the room. The hotel has kept many of the original features which is something I looked for when booking.

Nothing we didn't like about our stay. We didn't book breakfast or eat in the hotel which was ok as you aren't stuck for choice of places to eat at.

A lovely boutique hotel steps from Las Ramblas and the Boqueria Market with friendly staff and comfortable accommodations. We were very happy with the balcony view of street life -- a little noisy with windows open, but quiet once closed.

I had some difficulty with the inescapable stairs after spraining an ankle earlier in the trip -- there is an elevator but it did not go to our room. I was NOT happy with changed room prices after booking, but the rise in room rates our last two days was apparently due to fees imposed by Booking.com rather than the management. Might try to book directly next time to save money. We lost hot water halfway through the stay, though management did address the problem quickly.

Excellent location, beautiful atmosphere of old hotel in the centre.

If you are light sleeper I would not recommend this hotel, the walls are thin as paper. We stayed in the room on 3rd floor and above our room there were annoying sound like every 15 minutes at night and morning. Like if someone was moving furniture. I coulnt sleep even with earplugs...

Great location in the old Gothic quarter; lots of nice "faded glory/belle epoque" hotel. We enjoyed the roof terrace (and our room had its own terrace, too). We had a comfortable room and a spacious bathroom, and we appreciated the cool lemon water available at reception. A large selection of cafés nearby for breakfast.

We had the hotel breakfast the first morning. (Extra$$) The servers were very nice, but the food was definitely sub-par, and the atmosphere awkward. This hotel could do much better. It's easy to step out and find a breakfast elsewhere.
