Great location… we got off the aerobus on the corner of the square and within two minutes we were at the hotel. Right on the busy street of La Rambla and our room was facing the street but not noisy at all as we were expecting - a sound night sleep. Beautifully clean rooms with everything you need. As a bonus they also have a great big luggage storage so you can carry on your day before check in and after check out, and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. Air conditioning in the room thank goodness! Wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

Just sad that there was a cover on the hotel whilst work being done so could not see out but these buildings have to be looked after so cannot be helped. I would change nothing!

on 2nd day the elevator broke down .. so glad elevator was working well on checked in and checked out day .. hotel building is at present going through renovation .. hopefully there will be a new elevator as this decades old elevator have been down quite frequently in the past

If you are planning a short trip to Barcelona, this place is great. Located at Rambla and Plaza Catalunya, so most of the most important points to see are within walking distance. At Plaza Catalunya, there is a metro station that allows you to get basically anywhere. The standard of the rooms is not too high, but it is a two-star hotel, so do not expect miracles - the main thing is that it is clean, and the staff is kind and very helpful. To sum up, if the room is to be used for sleeping after a whole day of sightseeing, I definitely recommend it.

In the winter season, be prepared for the room temperatures to be rather low. Radiators are only in the corridors, not in the rooms, so people with low tolerance to cold should take this into account. With a temperature of 10 degrees outside, however, sleep was completely comfortable.

We had a great room with a balcony facing the center court area. The housekeeping for the room was very good and we always found our room ready and set for when we came in from our day's activities. The hotel front desk concierge gentlemen Jan and Guillaume were always ready to help with recommendations on best places to eat and places to see. They both were very courtesy and respectful which made out stay very enjoyable.

Waiting for the elevator especially during a busy time of the day or night. Unfortunately the small elevator can only take 2 people at one time.

The location was absolutely fantastic. Right in the Plaça de Catalunya, next to a McDonalds. Not hard to find at all, it’s right there with a big sign saying Hotel Monegal in black writing. We were genuinely shocked at how perfect the location was for what we wanted to which was shop, sightseeing, and eat and drink local. It was around a 20 minute walk to L’Arc de Triomf and Parc de Ciutadella. 2 minute to the big shops, a 30 minute walk to the beach if that. Perfect for running also, I did two long runs whilst I stayed (2 nights) and it was the most perfect central location for that!

The stairs. After a long day of walking, that was a killer. But common with European city break hotels. A lift does work but it was slow and only accommodated two people. It really isn’t a necessity!

Great location. About a block or less to major bus stop station

Their windows are not properly sealed and the noise of this major Main Street goes on till 4am or longer. So not a good sleep at all. At first I thought we had our windows open but to my shock they were closed. If they were to put the foam strips in the frames, that would probably solve the problem with those beautiful but old frames that need that foam in their frames.

An older hotel. Single beds, small bathroom. No restaurant. But what a location! Right on the main square at the top of Las Ramblas near a subway stop. The beds were great, good pillows, even a small walkout patio.The staff treated us like family giving us travel tips, restaurant advice, and generally made us feel welcome everytime we walked through the door.

It was hard to find at first. But now we know it literally shares an entrance way with McDonalds.

Everything was fantastic. The room and bayhroom are super clean and tidy. The staff are very versatile friendly and helpful. The cleaners are fantastic and super helpful. The location couldn't be better right on the La Rambla and Placa Catalunia.

Cloth hooks in the room and bathroom doors would have been helpful. The hot water in the attic bathroom doesn't work well. The room seemed a bit cold.

Perfect location. Opposit the major transport hub, especially access to airport. (Which was the reason for staying - needed 1 night before flying out). Much better value for money than airport hotel, due to the ease of getting to airport in the busses. Highly recommend for pre airport stay instead if expensive options at airport. Also, well located for the best parts of “old” Barcelona
