Location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the place was clean, cute, and secure. We didn't use it but it was nice to have a rooftop option, some yoga mats to borrow, and also a common area to sit and either work or play from. Also, we're very light sleepers (even with ear plugs) so we were concerned about the noise level given it's location, but we asked for a quiet room and we got one facing away from the street so it was indeed quite (expect for when the upstairs guests or cleaning person moved furniture around at odd hours).

We got the standard room and while it was good, little improvements would go such a long way such as having towel hooks on the bathroom door so that we can hang them to dry (especially since there's two of us) or blackout curtains so we can get better sleep. There wasn't a wardrobe, just a short coat rack with some hangers so we couldn't unpack our things. There was also only space for one suit case, not two. I also missed little amenities like tissues, a trash bin (there was a small one in the bathroom), conditioner (though I loved the brand of the soap and shampoo) and a toilet bowl brush. I also wished the shower didn't leak onto the bathroom floor.

Great location in Barcelona! Near to so much within walking distance… restaurants, shopping, and plenty of great sights. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the welcome drinks at the rooftop bar. The apartment was plenty big enough for our family of four (we had a bunk bed and king sized bed). We really appreciated having the water refill station in the kitchen downstairs. Breakfast was convenient, but with limited options. The Juliet balconies were fun to go out on and see happenings on the street. Also, we truly appreciated being able to leave our luggage on the last day (we had a late flight) and enjoy more of the city.

We were quite surprised that there was no television in our apartment, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal. However, we did want to catch up on the Olympics at the end of our day of being tourists. They were able to provide us with one, but they don’t have cable/antenna. You needed to use a streaming service. The elevator was very slow. Thankfully we were on a low enough floor that we could take the stairs, but if you needed to use it… be prepared to wait.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It’s cozy, stylish, and has a very attentive staff. The rooms are clean, bright, and as they say, "nothing extra." The aesthetics and design make them feel very inviting. The breakfasts were wonderful, and even more wonderful was the lady who prepared them. They also have a rooftop bar with great views, but unfortunately, we couldn’t experience it as it was off-season. In the lounge area, you can always make yourself tea or coffee. The location is incredibly convenient – you can walk to all the main attractions. Right next door, there’s a lovely café serving tapas and drinks. And there are plenty of other restaurants nearby to suit every taste. As a visual person, I was truly delighted by this hotel – every corner felt special and was a treat for the eyes.

Maybe it's just my personal preference, but the mattresses are too hard. And quite loud at night on the street.

Hotel room was super huge and spacious and super cozy. Toilet was also very big and spacious with plenty of counter space. The radiator heater in the toilet was very handy for drying clothes that were washed and the rain shower water pressure was great! Aircon worked well at heating up the room. The room was extremely clean and neat, and room service came everyday to tidy up and change our towels even though we didn't leave it on the floor. Environment around the hotel was quiet as well even though the room was on a low floor. There's always someone at the reception desk, and you can only enter the Hostal if you're let in by the staff, which made the place feel much safer as only guests are allowed to enter. There's also a lift so you don't have to worry about climbing stairs with your luggages. Location was super central in the gothic quarter, less than 5 mins walk to central area, 20 mins walk to casa batllo and the luxury brand shopping street if that's what you're here for. They'll also store your luggage for you before check in or after check out. Really loved my stay here and would definitely recommend this place.

Floor was very very slightly dusty, but only in some areas. There's no sign to request for no room service, so probably have to inform the main desk if you don't want cleaning service. There's also no phone in the room to call for room service so if you need anything you'll have to go down to the reception desk yourself. Location was great for walking but not so good for cabs. Be prepared to walk out to the main streets with your luggage for a cab as the roads outside the hotel are usually closed or not for cars to enter.

Stayed here 7 years ago with my girlfriend, returned with my kids. Now in one of the apartments, which was spacious, comfortable and though streetside quiet. The hotel itself offers nice breakfast, lounge and the rooftop terrace is the bonus. Situated in the heart of El Raval. Hidden gem.

When it comes on the details, compared to 7 years ago the staff was less personal and the hotel lost a bit of its bohemian vibe. Furthermore, English guests in the room above us left in the middle of night making so much noise it woke up me and my family. In general, ranquile place.

The location was perfect, just off La Rambla, very close to Placa de Catalunya, which is where the hop-on-hop-off buses depart from, and where there are lots of public transport options. There are a number of tapas bars close by, a pharmacy, some small supermarkets, and some breakfast places. The Gothic quarter and La Rambla are within easy walking distance as are the high end shopping areas of La Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. The hotel entrance is small and unassuming, but the rooms are large, simply decorated and spotlessly clean. My son was in a standard room, and that was a decent size, with a big bed, and a small balcony overlooking the narrow alleyways leading to the hotel. We were initially in an apartment, which was also a decent size, lovely large bed, large and very effective shower, and a small kitchen area (microwave and fridge and kettle). We them moved to a a deluxe room, (which was our original booking) and it was a very large room, with a large double bed (at least a king size, if not bigger) plus a single bed used as a sofa. The bathroom was a decent size with a shower with good water pressure. It had small "juliet" balcony overlooking the "living wall of plants" plus two other windows. The room temperature was perfect. There was a single "common" room, just off the entrance to the hotel, with tables and chairs for guests, coffee and hot chocolate available all day for no fee, and cake available in the morning. I had searched well over 70 hotels in Barcelona, and hoped that this would give the best combination of value and location - it did all that and more.

The only thing I missed (in the apartment - it was available in the deluxe room) was a throw / blanket - sometimes you just want something light to add some warmth as you relax reading a book etc.

An excellent property with spacious rooms and great facilities. Conveniently located near Las Ramblas and Catalunya train station, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff was attentive and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely return. The only drawback was the limited breakfast options for vegetarians, but overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Hotels should be more flexible with early check in and late checkouts, I think this is a universal problem!

Most front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Margarita was one of the best. She provided helpful advice and tips and made our visit to Barcelona memorable.

I’m on a no carb diet and decided not to purchase breakfasts beforehand. We usually went to the common area to enjoy our morning coffees and filled up water before heading out and the breakfast crowds coming in. Coffees and water are available for hotel guests with and without breakfast packages. We made it clear to the lady who was preparing breakfast that we didn’t purchase breakfast. One morning, a lady who was on a laptop, approached us and asked us to avoid using the common area when they’re serving breakfast. She suggested that we could use upstairs or other areas. That’s not a nice way to treat hotel guests. Let alone an inclusive hospitality meets different needs of the customers.

Great location, wonderful Friendly staff and quiet rooms despite being in the centre of things. Loved the roof terrace and a great escape at the end of a long hot day. Great bike hire place next door! so easy to get to the metro and the airport

the breakfast was a little over engineered and insubstantial for the price. Everything was lovely but sliced into tiny portions and meant you couldn't really relax and enjoy it. Although the room was cleaned the water was never replenished which was odd

Location is great, just off Rambla, close to areas we enjoy in fabulous Barcelona. The apartment was light and fresh, well appointed. Breakfast was good and fresh, lovely lady organising food etc. Reception staff were great, very helpful, in particular Maguerite and Annie, appreciated assistance with ticket purchase etc.

We managed but lift is small. Also Wheelchair travellers would need to check measurements for doorways and lift. Our daughter managed with assistance in her manual chair (mid size)
