The location was convenient for arriving from the airport and walking to most tourist attractions. The breakfast was good value and tasted very good.

The street outside the hotel smelt very strongly of urine. Staff at other hotels around the world would clean urine from the front door area, so more needs to be done here. The hotel is in the trashy tourism zone, so some care is needed to access the hotel late at night, avoiding side streets. One night, around midnight, the receptionist kept us waiting outside for 15mins whilst he was on the phone away from reception. The hotel front door cannot be accessed with a key, so the receptionist needs to be on the desk. Keeping guests waiting is not acceptable at this room rate.

The place is centrally located and near the main tourist attraction. That being said, it still offers a quiet and private Ruelle so it's not too noisy. There's not much rooms on every floor which gives you a little privacy. The staff is very professional, warm and helpful. Thank you so much. The location, and cleanliness is top notched. The space is big and airy, well maintained. Everything else is commendable.

The only negative comment I have is the bed and pillow. They are very uncomfortable and need to be changed. We barely did not sleep because of that. The walls are thin so you can hear what the room next to you or when people come and go. Luckily, there's not much room on every room so it still feels private.

It was really central but quiet and cool. It was very clean. It had a nice room with good modern bathroom. It had really pretty comfortable communal dining and lounge areas to sit in. The staff were so nice. Exceptionally friendly and kind and went over and above being nice to us. Both the receptionist and the girl on the rooftop bar were really helpful and kind. Love the hot drinks machine as well - so nice to get hot chocolate and coffee at any time of the day.

Nothing apart from the fact that they kept on sending me emails asking me to book their taxi from the airport which was not needed as I got a very cheap and cheerful bus. The bus even runs at 2:30 am on a Sunday night when Ryanair is running 6 hours late. However, I did get ripped off by a taxi driver when I was there so perhaps it is a good idea to use their taxis. If you do use a Taxi make sure you Google first how to avoid being ripped off. It is clear that Barcelona taxi drivers are pretty unscrupulous. But everything else was marvellous.

Location wise is ok , nearby the cataluña But too close to Raval (a lot of street with mural and stuff), I don’t feel save if I need to walk in the late at night. However, if you go to the upper part of the hotel, gonna be nicer. Just don’t go to the lower part of the hotel. During check in, I came at 1 PM, they said the room gonna be ready at 3. I came back at 3.40 , but the room was still under cleaning process, so I needed to wait for another 30 mins. Not too good experience, especially after taking a super long flight. But other than that, the experience was great!

The property is great, maybe better for a younger crowd, but it served its purpose as a place to stay for one night in Barcelona. The staff is very kind. There is an elevator, coffee/tea available 24 hours. They have added some nice personal touches for their guests. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. We didn’t utilize the roof top bar, but they have a place for lite fare and drinks in the evening. Easy access and out. A front desk person is on staff 24 hours to let you in the front door.

I personally didn’t love the area around the property. It is very close to some shopping and restaurants. The area seems a little sketchy, quite a few homeless people around. I never felt unsafe and there is a person at the front desk 24 hours. Our room was a good size with a good size bathroom, kitchenette, living room and separate bedroom. The rooms are very basic, but they have everything you would need for a stay. It depends on what your tastes are, if you are looking for luxury, this is not your place. If you’re looking for clean and basic accommodations I feel it was spot on.

Location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the place was clean, cute, and secure. We didn't use it but it was nice to have a rooftop option, some yoga mats to borrow, and also a common area to sit and either work or play from. Also, we're very light sleepers (even with ear plugs) so we were concerned about the noise level given it's location, but we asked for a quiet room and we got one facing away from the street so it was indeed quite (expect for when the upstairs guests or cleaning person moved furniture around at odd hours).

We got the standard room and while it was good, little improvements would go such a long way such as having towel hooks on the bathroom door so that we can hang them to dry (especially since there's two of us) or blackout curtains so we can get better sleep. There wasn't a wardrobe, just a short coat rack with some hangers so we couldn't unpack our things. There was also only space for one suit case, not two. I also missed little amenities like tissues, a trash bin (there was a small one in the bathroom), conditioner (though I loved the brand of the soap and shampoo) and a toilet bowl brush. I also wished the shower didn't leak onto the bathroom floor.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It’s cozy, stylish, and has a very attentive staff. The rooms are clean, bright, and as they say, "nothing extra." The aesthetics and design make them feel very inviting. The breakfasts were wonderful, and even more wonderful was the lady who prepared them. They also have a rooftop bar with great views, but unfortunately, we couldn’t experience it as it was off-season. In the lounge area, you can always make yourself tea or coffee. The location is incredibly convenient – you can walk to all the main attractions. Right next door, there’s a lovely café serving tapas and drinks. And there are plenty of other restaurants nearby to suit every taste. As a visual person, I was truly delighted by this hotel – every corner felt special and was a treat for the eyes.

Maybe it's just my personal preference, but the mattresses are too hard. And quite loud at night on the street.

Great location in Barcelona! Near to so much within walking distance… restaurants, shopping, and plenty of great sights. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the welcome drinks at the rooftop bar. The apartment was plenty big enough for our family of four (we had a bunk bed and king sized bed). We really appreciated having the water refill station in the kitchen downstairs. Breakfast was convenient, but with limited options. The Juliet balconies were fun to go out on and see happenings on the street. Also, we truly appreciated being able to leave our luggage on the last day (we had a late flight) and enjoy more of the city.

We were quite surprised that there was no television in our apartment, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal. However, we did want to catch up on the Olympics at the end of our day of being tourists. They were able to provide us with one, but they don’t have cable/antenna. You needed to use a streaming service. The elevator was very slow. Thankfully we were on a low enough floor that we could take the stairs, but if you needed to use it… be prepared to wait.

Stayed here 7 years ago with my girlfriend, returned with my kids. Now in one of the apartments, which was spacious, comfortable and though streetside quiet. The hotel itself offers nice breakfast, lounge and the rooftop terrace is the bonus. Situated in the heart of El Raval. Hidden gem.

When it comes on the details, compared to 7 years ago the staff was less personal and the hotel lost a bit of its bohemian vibe. Furthermore, English guests in the room above us left in the middle of night making so much noise it woke up me and my family. In general, ranquile place.

Left it late to book a hotel in Barcelona for our stay and Eco Boutique Hostal was one of a small number of places available that were reasonably priced with good reviews, otherwise, I would not normally have booked this facility. I booked a two bed apartment, which was very clean, well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Its in a great location and has a nice roof top bar for evening drinks. Overall it exceeded my expectations and my only complaint is the windows in the bedrooms could do with blackout blinds.
